How to delete a mystery user

Hi!, I've recently updated my HDD drive of my MB (mid 2009) with 10.8, after doing this I had a copy of all my current files on a external hdd drive using time machine. When I installed again mountain lion on the new hard drive and then updated all, my account, apps and files through time machine I recently discovered that in my sesion window (when I turn on my computer) I have a new user account that I did not had before: "nxhttpd" I had the nomachine client on my apps because I need it but I never had problems with it before. It's really disturbing because on System preferences -> Users, I only have my own user and the Guest User, so I can't figure out how do I delete this user... :/, I tried by deleting the NX client and restarting the computer but It doesn't fix it.
Any ideas?

Try going into Terminal and typing:
dscl . -delete /Users/username
...where username would be "nxhttpd".
This might not work unless you're logged into a root account - I don't know, give it a try.

That may be because you are logged into the new user.

I recently installed livescribe desktop on my computer and the "other" option at the login appeared. The account is hidden, how do I delete it? Is there a way to delete it through terminal?

Under the section
To delete the hidden user account I opened Finder and looked for the following file under the following path: Macintosh HD /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow
I deleted the file and rebooted. Mac rebuilt the login users list, which will reveal the Livescribe hidden account. Login using your admin account (not the Livescribe one) and then go to System Preferences, then Accounts. You will then see the Livescribe account. Delete it like you'd delete any normal account.
This is not a very friendly install. It opens all kinds of security concerns. Livescribe should be warned, scolded, or something for doing this. They also install an adobe app (adobe air) in the process making it look like an update. this seems really sneaky and is not appreciated.
I lost many hours searching, disconnecting my mac from the net and contemplating a full reformat and reinstallation until I found this.
NOT NICE AT ALL.
At least I have gotten rid of the account now.

1) no such preference file could be found in any of the computer's preference or preferencepane folders
2) As I noted above, if I go to my users folder, the only folders within that are the main user (me: the administrator) and "Shared". The only place I see this other user is if I log out and log back in or when I open the Accounts System Preferences Application

First of all, you need to make sure your current user account (the one you intend to keep) is an administrator account (not standard).
Go to System Preferences Accounts pane. Click the lock, if it's locked, and enter your authorization, to unlock.
In the sidebar, you will see the list of user accounts. To delete a user account, select it on the list and click the minus sign.

I believe you can not delete the user 100% fully since all documents must be closed before.since it had a relation in crmd_partner table. However it has links with business objects..

I have made a format to my laptop to install windows 7 on it. Widows 7 works spectacularly with my laprop but it keeps asiking me to make a back uop to my files. The problem is the HP recovery hard dsk is almost full and when I open it I cannot see any folder. My quest is how to delete back up from my hard disk and makes it empty.

Try this option...
GO to SE80 for ur transaction..
It will display all the screens for CICO..
Expand on Screen, it displays all screens..
Select ur User Screen..Right Click and choose delete...

if the user is using SBWP then please follow the steps to delete the workitem
1. select the wokitem and then click the button " Display Workflow log"
2. select "goto" --> "List with technical details"
3. press Ctrl+p
4.click on instance numbers
5.select "goto" --> "Technical workitem display"
6. select "edit" --> "Change"
7. you will find "logical deletion" option to deletion the worklfow
If you have the workitem numbers then you can use Tcode SWIA or SWI1 and follow the above steps

How to delete a user in SAP-CPS Version 7.0

Hello,
I created my users via UME ( User Management Engine of Java Application server). Unfortunately I used the wrong name convention, so I had to recreate all the users in UME. Afterwards I delete all wrong users in UME.
Than I tried to login with my new user in SAP-CPS (users are normally created in SAP-CPS during first login) but I get the error message that I reached the maximum number of 10 users allowed in the basic version. No problem I thougt, I simply delete the wrong ones in SAP-CPS. But I do not know how to delete a user! I could not find any menu item or any describtion in the manualls how to delete an user in SAP-CPS.
I remove the users from any Isolation group, I disabled all the users but still I could not find any way to delete them.
Has any body a hint for mor.

deactivating the unused users made it possible to login with the new ones.

User Names how to delete one

I am using a IMAC with OS10.4.10. I transfered my files, etc. from my G4 to the IMAC using a the firewire ports. Had some minor problems but got it all transfered. My problem is that I now have two user names, "Fred" and "Fred Holmes". The Holmes user opens the IMAC files, with some of the transfered files has to be access using "Fred". I have tried to set up the shared files under "Fred Holmes", sometimes works, sometimes not. On the screen I have MACINTOSH HD in the upper right hand position. When I shut down and log on, I have to select either "Fred" or "Fred Holmes", the "Fred" takes me to the OS9 system from the G4. Must I keep the "Fred" user or is there a way to put those files with "Fred Holmes" and delete the "Fred" user? Any information no matter how basic it is, would be helpful, as I am not one of the best computer knowledgeable person.

Would it be the other way around? I want to keep the "Fred Holmes" files as they are the ones associated with the new IMAC, the "Fred" files appears to be the files that were moved from the G4. If I delete one of the files, do I still need the shared files?
Also, Kappy what should be in the applications file? And where should the files be such as Quicken, Family Reunion, etc. At the present time I find them all over the place. Thanks

I'm using OS X Lion in my iMac 27". I started using Mac OS X 6 years ago in Power Mac G5 (Tiger). I updated the system from Tiger to Leopard. Then I purchased an iMac and I used Migration Assistant to transfer files from Power Mac (Leopard, PowerPC G5) to iMac (Snow Leopard, Intel). Few months ago I upgraded the OS X to Lion. I never did any clean install coz i dont want to reactive the software nor manually copy my iphotos library and others...
Few days ago I added a user named "B", which I deleted few years ago. Lion did not allow me to do so because the user existed. The user appears once when I migrate the data from Power Mac to iMac. (well, it caused a lot of trouble at that time, as the CPU changed, which is a fundamental change that i cannot use all application I was familiar with and costed a lot of money to buy new software..... ) I could not find any user in the System Preferences -> Account. There is no home folder for this user in the Hard drive. So, can someone tell me how to delete it? I am using this username to share files amount the windows PC. For security reason, It is much much better to keep this name for me to share files from mac to windows PC.

And, there are two groups of Everyone in the File Sharing.... look at the image I attached.
