How to Delete Albums, Etc in "Music'

How can I delete music albums, genres, etc. in Music?  I was allowed to delete a playlist, but even the Apple manual and Dummies book don't tell me what to do.  I am not allowed to do any editing except rearranging the "More" list.  The above reference say there should be a delete button at the bottom, but there isn't.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Found out that this U2 album is a free download from Apple.  Can't be true, is it?  Never downloaded it and was not asked for consent.  Was able to remove it from my "account", but not my iphone.  No delete option occurs with albums.  If anyone has some advice for deleting this album, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.

You can't delete an album by itself but you can delete it by deleting all of its songs.
To delete a song swipe firm right to left on the song title and touch Delete.

  • IPhone would not let me delete individual song from library, tried deleting album to remove music from local storage, now certain songs from album do not show in iTunes match on iPhone only on computer

Upon completion of matching and uploading my very large library of music (+15,000), I wanted to see how iTunes Match worked on my iPhone. I started it and selected the first album in the list to listen to. I let it play the entire album and then decided that I wanted to remove certain songs off of the iPhone's local storage. Tried to delete the individual songs and it would not let me. So I figured that I would go back and just delete the album. After selecting delete I went back to listen to one of the songs on the album and realized that it deleted several of the songs from the iTunes Match completely. When pulling iTunes up on my computer the songs are still there but does not give me the option to upload to iTunes Match.
I have tried turning off Match on iPhone and back on (doesn't seem to do anything cause when turned off the iPhone still displays the music.)
Then tried power cycling. (Still shows the music)
Then I tried power cycling again and resyncing the phone and the iPhone still shows the music as it was on the phone.
How do I get the music to be accessable on the iPhone again.. I have been messing with this for the course of 3 hours now.. and any help would be appreciated!!
    iPhone 3GS 8GB

Actually Michael I know exactly how to delete.. The iPhone would not let me swipe to the left to delete the individual song, so I went to the album view and did it there.. The issue I am having is a bug because it removed 3/4 of the albums availablity off my iPhone.. You post proved no help because it is basic troubleshooting which, if you read my post, I have already done.. I did however figure out how to fix my issue on my own.. Basically I had to remove the album from my iTunes on my computer and upload it again to iTunes Match..

  • IPad 1,  how to delete albums in photo?

I have an ipad1 with ios5+  operating on it. I want to delete albums in photo. How do it do it?

    1. If album was created directly on the iPad then you should be able to delete it using the Edit button.
    2. If album was synced from a computer then it can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need to reconnect the iPad to your computer's iTunes, de-select that album/folder on the Photos tab and re-sync.

  • How to delete albums from iphoto?

There is clear instructions from within iPhoto to delete Journals but nothing about deleting albums.  How do I go about doing this on an iOS device - iPad or iPhone?

Albums are deleted using the Photo app or by syncing with your computer.use the Photo app to delete photos in the Camera Roll, All Imported and Last Imported albums.
To delete other albums start iTunes on the computer that you normally sync with and connect your iPad. Select your pad in the left column of iTunes on your computer. At the top of the right column select Photos.
In the list of Albums below deselect those albums you want to delete. That click on Apply in the lower right corner of that window.

  • My iMac is slow, and I don't know how to "delete cookies" etc. as I could do on my PC.  Can you help me?

Please tell me how to "delete cookies" or whatever its equivalent would me on my iMac.  It is slowing down.

It's best to describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible, rather than what you think is causing it or how you think it should be solved.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

  • How to delete album artwork from itunes?

i have tried the clear downloaded artwork, but this didn't work. is there any other way that i can delete album artwork from itunes? i am assuming the artwork is embedded in the files, since the clear downloaded artwork didn't work.

I think this might have been answered before, but this is what I know.
One way I'm aware of to clear artwork is to do a properties of any album you want to clear the artwork from, go to artwork, select the artwork and delete it.
Iirc, iTunes holds the artwork in it's database and not physically with the audio file. I normally use "Mp3tag" to add my artwork to albums so the artwork is embedded in the audio files, I tend to steer clear of adding artwork in iTunes itself. Just be weary when adding images to the audio files themselves: The audio files will increase in size of the image itself, I think that's why iTunes doesn't physically add it to the files.

  • How to delete one kind of music file and keep another.

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I hope you can help me. I have an iPod touch, and I am trying to add my music to it, but I only want the AAC versions on my iPod.  I've got some mp3 tracks in iTunes, and some AAC versions as well.  I have added the "kind" column, to order the files by their mp3 and AAC versions.  Now I want to delete the mp3 versions, and keep the AAC versions to add to my iPod.  Is there a way of highlighting the mp3 versions en masse, so I can select all the mp3 tracks in one go, ready to delete them?  I don't want to remove them from the computer itself; just from iTunes.  I could select each mp3 track in turn, and delete them individually, but that is a laborious way of doing the job.  I'm looking for an easier method.  Can anyone offer me a suggestion as to how to do this please, either via iTunes, or via a file management method in my Windows PC?  Thank you for your time in reading this question.

It's OK, I sorted it myself.  I sorted the songs by "kind" as explained above.  Then I highlighted the first mp3 track, scrolled down to the last one, then pressed the shift key to highlight all the mp3 tracks.  Finally, I right clicked and chose "delete" from the options, which removed all the mp3 tracks in one go.

  • How to delete duplicate and triplicate Music Videos in itunes?

Hi, I have 3 music videos, two of which are in triplicate, and one that is duplicated. How can I delete them? When I have my music video playlist open, delete is not highlighted as a viable "tool" or command to choose (not in dark black/it is grey). In the list, have unchecked all but one of each so dup/ trips won't sync to my Ipod but I need every morsel of memory I can get on this PC. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
    Thank you, SP

Hi Alan, I noticed that my music videos were also listed just as music in the library and from there I was able to delete the dup's and trips. Thanks for your information.

  • How to delete albums from photos

Purchased a iPad Air at the w/e, loaded some pictures using iTune, now would like to delete the albums. What is the correct way of doing so

    Hey urbkuhl,
Thanks for the question. I understand you wish to remove synced photos from your device. The following article outlines how to do so:
    iTunes: Syncing photos
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
    1. In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
    2. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
    4. Click Apply.
    Enjoy your new iPad Air!
