How to delete ALL emails at once on  iPad 2- (Not one at a time) -?

I came across this link for how to delete multiple (ALL)  emails at the same time on the iPad 2. (on a non - jailbroken device).
It seems that it's working for people, but it isn't working for me. Has this worked for anyone else on an iPad 2? (non-jailbroken)?
Here is a link to the post :
Please let me know if it works for you and if so, hopefully I can figure out why it isn't working for me. Thanks.

Yes, it definitely takes a while if you have a lot of emails to trash.
Also, I've noticed with IOS7, it takes longer, even if there aren't that many emails. But at least it works !!!

How do I delete all emails at once in the ipad inbox

    You actually can:
it took me weeks of research to figure out finally how to decode this yet another secretive secrets of apple. there is a perfect way of deleting ALL emails at once without jailbreaking your iphone or ipad...and here it is:
Open Inbox>>EDIT >> check/select the top message, it will highlight the move button >>press and hold the move button and uncheck the message that you had checked earlier >> lift all your fingers off from the ipad screen and leave it alone. wait until all your messages pile up on the right hand portion of the screen (in ipad). iphone will give you the actual number of emails it has selected for the action. now they are just waiting for your command to be moved ALL at once. >> choose trash to delete all of them or any other folder where u want to move them, like one piece. remember this will replicate your action on the server so u will ACTUALLY move them or delete them on the server and not just the ipad.
once you have moved all messages to trash you can either leave them there for the scheduled cleaning or empty it right away by doing this: go to trash folder and click edit. the delete all button shows up at the bottom of the screen. hit it! you r done!
if you do not see effects of your actions on the server make sure you have enabled Your email accounts for such actions.
    tips:
    1. please give enough time (could take upto several minutes depending the number of emails to be moved) for the emails to be selected for the move. your screen will become unresponsive while all emails are being packaged. once emails are ready, in ipad, you will see them zoomed out on the right hand side of the screen, and in iphone you will see the message showing you the actual number of messages that have been selected.
    2. avoid purging very large number of emails, the mail app might freeze or crash. if your inbox has thousands of emails change your sync settings in mail settings to fill lesser number of emails in you inbox

  • Is there a way to delete all email messages from inbox without checking each one at a time on my iphone 4?

Whenever I want to delete messages in the inbox on my iphone 4, using v4.2.8, I have to manually check each one and then delete them the checked ones as a group. Is there a way to select all and delete them at one time? I love the phone and it is a little complaint, but I often get 50-60 work related messages which I scan then delete because the originals are on my work computer. Thanks.

Also, the iPhone is not a standalone device and obviously doesn't have a full blown mail client... it's an adjunct to your computer.  If you want to delete a lot of emails, do it on your computer.  You could also log into your webmail using a browser on your iPhone and do it from there.
You have a point, but you're just helping exposing the misery a little more:  I actually DO delete the emails in WebMail, very easily.  The problem is the sorry state of the Apple email client, that does not replicate those actions on the device, so I have to delete the messages TWICE--once on my computer, with a couple of clicks, and then on my iPhone, with a couple (hundreds) finger gestures.
As to your point that the iPhone is not a standalone device:  that's nonsense.  The iPhone does a lot of things that users thought IMPOSSIBLE just 10 years ago.  Are you saying that the addition of a simple feature like a "Delete All Messages" button is too much for a mobile device?  Then what to say about Siri, a complex-beyond-our-imagination system that incorporates voice recognition, AI, searching and other hard-to-grasp technologies, all at our fingertips?

  • Is there a way to remove all email at once on iPad first generation?

Is there a way to remove all email at once on iPad first generation?

Issue does not apply to just first gen iPads, but all iOS devices. The only place in the native mail app that permits deleting en mass is the trash folder. In all other folders you must tap each message to select it before deleting. There may be alternate mail apps that include this function in the app store, but I have yet to find one.

  • How to delete ALL PHOTOS AT ONCE ?

So, how to delete all photos from iphone 5 with one touch ? Its frustrating to delete pic by pic when you got over 2000 pictures ! And its not enough to go to "moments" and day by day deleting those pics...
My old Nokia 2110 has that luxury feature "select all" and then "delete selected". This is ridiculous from 1000€ device... Not to mention I have new iMac also and I still not can delete all photos at once.
    Help please !

If iCloud Photo Library is enabled:
There is currently no way to delete all photos at once.
If iCloud Photo Library is disabled:
Plug your device into a computer and open your photo import application and it'll allow you to remove all photos.

No. You'll have to click edit then put a check next to each email you want to delete, then hit delete. Once in trash, you can delete all.

I need to delete ALL of my emails from one of my mailboxes at once. Is there an easy way to do this? I have over 6,000 messages in that mailbox and there has to be a way to delete them all at once.

  • How to delete all emails in inbox at once on iPhone 4S?

I read a previous discussion about this, but that was when I was on iOS6. Is there a way to do this on iOS7? I've got hundreds of emails in my inbox, and evertime I try to delete a bunch of them, more just come flooding in.

I've got tons in the server, too, because I don't go in and delete them there after they have been loaded into my desktop inbox in iMail, just in case I deleted something in iMail and need to find it again. Emails are automatically deleted from the server after 2 weeks anyway, but they seem to stay in the iPhone inbox. Wish there was a "delete all" for the iPhone. Hoping maybe in the next OS.

  • How to delete all email attachments to free up space?

I'm on a MBP with a 240 GB SSD. Somehow my Mail folder is 90 GB!
I'd like to have an expert tell me how to go about deleting all of the attachments from my SSD so that I can free up space.
My set up is several work email accounts, and one personal email account, on Mail.app, all IMAP via Google Apps and Gmail.
I found this, and tried it, but only freed up 4 GB, which doesn't make sense to me???

Could you break this down for me more specifically?  Hit menu after I've gotten into my email?  I don't see delete in the menu (only the box to the left of the actual email itself).  Thanks for any help!!

  • Can we delete all emails at once?

    Hi,
Is there a way to select all emails and delete them at once instead of just one by one?
    Thanks.

There's no single command, but if Mail is the same as on the iPad, you can select a mailbox, click the Edit button, select the messages to delete by tapping the "dot" next to the message, and click the Delete button at the bottom. It's still somewhat inconvenient if you have a lot of message to remove, but it's easier than clicking the Trash icon separately for each message.
    Regards.

  • How do delete all email from a mail box?

On both iPad 2 and iPhone 4G there are mail boxes that accumulate a mass of mail. I must delete messages individually! Is there a way to delete all mail simultaneously?

This is a better and much easier way to delete multiple emails in inbox
    1. Go to your inbox
    2. Press Edit
    3. Tap any message once to select it
    4. Press AND HOLD the Move button
    5. While still holding the Move button, tap the message you selected
    6. Release the Move button
    7. This will bring up a dialog box asking you which folder you’d like to move all your messages to – just select the Trash folder and you’re all done
