How to delete an iMovie '09 project?

I have a project that I can't delete. I suspect it's corrupt. I've tried deleting my iMovie preference file and restarting iMovie but that doesn't help. Other projects can be deleted. Any pointers please?!
Thanks,
Fred

iMovie '09 scans the Project folder in a manner similar to the way it scans Event folders upon start up. If you can't delete the named_Project from within iMovie '09, try closing the application, removing the named_Project from the "iMovie Projects" folder, and then restarting the application. If all works correctly, the named_Project will have disappeared from your Project list and you can safely delete the project package using the normal Finder process of "trashing" the file.
(NOTE: If the file to be deleted is the last named_Project in your Project Library list, I would probably create a an new empty project before trying this work flow.)

  • How to delete Analysis and Analysis Project in SDA ?

    Hii
Please tell me how to delete Analysis and Analysis project in SDA .??

    Hi Rahul,
in most cases the Identifying Check Item might be used.
The rating of each Check Item will be determined by the assigned Check Steps. The rating of an Informative Check Item does not contribute to the rating of the Analysis Structure (e.g. a business process step etc.), while the rating of an Identifying Check Item does.
The purpose of such behaviour can be explained with the usage in different Analyses.
In the Analysis Project one will assign Check Steps to an Informative Check Item in cases where you want to get processed additional Check Steps, that might be not yet validated in that combination and/or that might cause higher Analysis runtimes.
During the creation of an Analysis one can control to include these Informative Check Items for the current Analysis. With the results of the Informative Check Items one might refine the Analysis Project, which will be used for the next Analysis created.
The data for workload Check Steps are coming from the workload statistics in the managed system and the values displayed are dialog steps performed in the period(month) selected.
I hope that the information given is helpful somehow.
    Best regards,
      Andreas

  • How to open previous iMovie 09 Projects- don't appear in the Project Pane!

I have a lot of iMovie 09 Projects that I have done but they no longer appear in the Project Pane. They are still on my external mac-formatted hard drive, but I can't get them to open in iMovie. I remember moving them to my external hard drive within iMovie at one point and I have a bad feeling I might have removed them from iMovie so they wouldnt slow it down... All the events are gone as well, but still reside on my external drive.
How can I re-open older projects once they don't appear in the project pane any more? They are still in the designated "imovie projects" folder on my hard drive...
    Thank you

if you have multiple hard drives like me they may be there, but are hidden until you hit the triangle next to the hard drive your projects are stored on. once i did that they "magically" appeared...hope it's an easy fix for you too

  • How can I play iMovie 2 projects on iMovie 11?

When I upgraded to Lion awhile back... I didn't realize that new versions of iMovie, iMovie 11,  would not play former versions. How can I play the older versions? Is there an iMovie 2 for Lion, or a workaround?

and as addendum zo Bengt's excellent advice:
    iMovie is no 'player'.
iMovie projects, from any version, are meant to be shared/broadcasted/exported (diff. words in diff. version, meaning all the same).
Such exports, from any version of iMovie were, are, and for sure will be playable - with Quicktime Player.
    So, meant as generic advice:
Don't 'hide' your Projects in iMovie!
Export them, make a mov (or m4v, or mp4, or whatever) of it - done.

  • How to delete an iDVD 6 project

When I open iDVD it loads the last project I did. How do I delete this project so I can create another one?

Here's the answer I got from Apple Web Chat Help. Great service!!!!
Locate the project in your Documents folder, it will be the .dvdproj files.
You would simply drag the project to the Trash and then empty the trash to delete the project.

  • How to save an iMovie '09 project?

Sorry if this seems redundant, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to complete a project in order to share and export.
I have created the project. I am done. There is no save button or anything that lets you finalize. The export and share settings are grayed out.
    HELP!

there's no 'save' in iM08/09.. this is done automatically, at last when 'quitting' iMovie.
you can share/export only Projects, not Events.. if you know the difference.

  • How to delete copies in two projects with one master

    Hello,
I drug images from one project to another, thinking they would be moved. I see that it instead made a copy and now both projects have the same image, but they apparently share the same master. When I choose "delete version" with one of them, the message that comes up is "delete master image and all versions", presumably because there is only one version in the project. If I go ahead and continue the deletion, I lose the image from both projects (and the master).
Is there a way to get out of this conundrum?
    Many thanks, Steve

So, that means that if I use an image in an album, it's master is forever locked in location and can't be moved? That seems like a severe drawback.
I know I've moved referenced masters for images in albums without a problem by using 'relocate masters', but you are saying that dragging the image from one project to another will make two versions referencing a single master rather than moving the master?
I don't understand why I can't just delete one of the versions, then. They each seem to think they are the version of the master.

  • How can I recover iMovie HD projects in Yosemite

I Have several projects created in iMovie HD (8.03), They are no longer supported in Yosemite I discovered yesterday. Is there any way to open the in later versions of iMovie?

I found this answer in another post... It worked for me.
Find iMovie HD.app, control click on it and View Package Contents. Open Contents/MacOS/iMovie HD. That seems to bypass the check.
It will open the terminal app when you double click on the iMovie HD exec file, but the program will work as usual

Please tell me there is a way to recover my PROJECT!?!?!?
I was trying to go to another library when I noticed a dupliacte file.   I "thought" I selected only that file and went to "Move project to trash".   When I tried to see my original Project I've been working on for over 16 hours... it was GONE!   It's not in my trash, not in the iMove-->Projects folder... Did I just hose myself?
Please help!   I have 40 kids waiting to see this movie.

No one except for you marked your other thread as solved, probably in error when you received the email notification that there was an answer. I changed that thread to normal so you can post there again.

  • How to import iMovie 11 projects to iPhoto?

How do i import imovie 11 projects onto iphoto? please help!

iMovies are not designed to be viewed in iPhoto. You should watch your movies from iTunes. You can SHARE/To iTunes and your movies will be in iTunes. From iTunes, you can watch them on your Mac, on your Apple TV, or you can sync to iPhone, iPad, iPod. You will also be able to access them through the Media Browser in Keynote, Pages, GarageBand, Logic, and iDVD.
The only movies that should be stored in iPhoto are short, unedited clips taken by a still camera. iMovie can edit them without taking them out of iPhoto.

  • Exporting iMovie/iDVD project for PC friend to edit

I recently posted a question about how to take an iMovie/iDVD project and export the files so that a PC user could take the project and edit on his PC using a video editor. It was suggested that I share the iMovie project to QuickTime and then burn on to a CD. This sounded good at first but then I did some research and saw that sharing to QuickTime means that the quality will be lost (saving to CD setting) and will only be something like 320 x 240. Plus, it takes forever. Even longer if I set it to full quality but by that point, the file wouldn't fit on a CD anyway.
I did see that I could save the movie back to a mini DV tape and then give that to the PC person so that they could just bring it into their computer via their camcorder. But what if that person doesn't have a digital camcorder?
For the project in question, I've been asked to take some VHS tapes and convert them to digital. I've done so using a digital converter. They want a DVD of what was on the tapes, which I've done, but they also want the files so that they can later edit to their tastes on their own time on their PC and then later create a DVD. Given the above, what would be the best way to do this? Isn't there something in the movie project files that I can dump to disk?

    a) consider the usage of an ext. harddrive...
    b) in iM's "share" dialog, you find the option "selected clips only"; so, select a few clips you like to export, check that box, done... you can "split" your clips at any point to create segments of approbiate size by hitting apple-t at any position in timeline..
    c) share/Quicktime/expert options/click "share"/ offers you a dropdown menu, where you can choose the "avi" container...
(your User Interface is for sure english!)
you can click options, and choose the dv codec (which is your project's native video codec)... no loss of quality, and probably compatible for your friend..
    d) a dataDVD-r fits ~20min of dv video... 4 disks?
    e) using Disk Utility, make sure, you use a PC-compatible disk format....
    f) Plan B) export your project back to tape, give your friend the miniDV...

  • Opening an iMovie 8 project in iMovie 6

I swear I saw on this board a while back instructions on how to open an iMovie 8 project in iMovie 6. I need to do exactly that to fix the audio quality, but every time I try to import it, an error window pops up informing me that Quick Time couldn't parse it. Can someone please help me? This final project is due on Tuesday and I'm getting antsy. Thanks.

I swear I saw on this board a while back instructions on how to open an iMovie 8 project in iMovie 6.
iMovie '08 projects are stored as a "text" file describing how the physical movie would be created from the resource files and how effects are to be applied. iMovie HD, on the other hand, only imports physical media files. You can, of course, export your iMovie '08 project to your hard drive as DV or AIC and import that file to either iMovie HD or GarageBand for audio editing (or share it to the Media Browser for audio editing in GarageBand).
