How to delete completely Bluetooth Preferences ?

After changing from a G4 to my new G5 (using OS X migration feature) I have lost Bluetooth comunication between the G5 and my powerbook G4 1GHz. I tried every configuration possible on G5 Bluetooth preferences and nothing. I solved the problem when I boot from another HD with a clean system install. So I guess if I can restore G5's Bluetooth to original configuration the problem would be solved. I deleted everything that I found with "bluetooth" that appeared to be preferences files (.plist / .nib) but it didin't work.
Is there any way i can get my Bluetooth File transfer working again without having to reinstall mac os ?
How can I recall bluetooth "factory" configuration ?
thx.
G5 Dual 2.3 GHz + Powerbook G4 1 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Normal.
This seems to be a new bug of Apple Bluetooth software 1.7 which came with Mac OS X v10.4.4. Have a search in this forum. I am not aware of any solution except going back to Mac OS X v10.4.3.

  • How to delete/reset Photoshop preferences

Background: Sometimes Photoshop can exhibit odd/erratic/weird behaviour.
The first step is to make sure that you are running the latest version of Photoshop, by applying the relevant updates for your version of Photoshop listed on this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=39&platform=Windows
This behaviour can sometimes be overcome by resetting the Photoshop Preference file, or individual Tool Preferences.
The procedures outlined below are the most common methods of removing the program preferences file.
Q: I am experiencing weird behaviour in Photoshop. - How do I delete / reset my preferences?
    Photoshop versions after 6.0 (including 7.0, CS, CS2 ...CS6):
A:If a tool is behaving erratically, first try resetting just that tools preferences, via the method outlined by Len Hewitt in the post below this one.
If you have larger troubles, hold down Alt, Ctrl, and Shift keys (Mac: Command, Option, Shift) while starting up Photoshop. A dialog box will appear asking if you wish to delete the preferences/settings file.
A2: You can also simply search your hard drive for a *.psp file and delete it. It will be called something along the lines of "Adobe Photoshop X Prefs.psp".
Under Vista or 7, look here:
Users/[Username]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version #]/Adobe Photoshop [version #] Settings
Under Win 2k/XP the preference file will be found at:
    %windir%\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\[version #]\Adobe Photoshop [version #] Settings
[NOTE: You need to set Window's Explorer Options to "View Hidden Files and Folders" to display the Preference file]
    Photoshop Versions 5.5 and earlier:
Search for photos*.ini and delete (the file will be called photos followed by the version number - i.e photos55.ini for Photoshop 5.5, photos40.ini for Photoshop 4.0)
Resetting the preferences will restore Photoshop settings to factory defaults.
If removing the preferences files does not resolve the problem you should check the Photoshop Support pages for further guidance.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/products/photoshop.html
Note that it is possible to keep a 'healthy' copy of the Preferences file, so that you simply overwrite the preferences file if needed. That way you won´t have to re-adjust your preferences in Photoshop after a Reset.

Is one of your tools behaving strangely — or not the way you expect — in Photoshop?
For every tool in Photoshop's Tool Box, the user may choose to fully reset JUST that tool to its default settings. To do this, look up to the Options Bar. On the far left side you will see a button which displays an icon of the currently selected tool. This is the Tool Preset picker. Right-click on this button, and you will see two entries:
    Reset Tool
    Reset All Tools
The first thing to try when a tool is not acting like you expect it should is to apply the command "Reset Tool" from this menu. Often this will cure a problem, and by starting your Photoshop troubleshooting with this procedure you aren't resetting Photoshop's entire behavior and environment to factory default in a wholesale manner. Instead, you're just getting that particular tool back to its default settings, leaving the rest of Photoshop's settings alone.
The second option would be more appropriate in a classroom setting, to get a "fresh version of Photoshop", rather than for troubleshooting Photoshop issues.
If this doesn't cure the problem you're having, then you may need to move on to deleting/resetting all of your Photoshop preferences to factory default.

  • How to delete complete SLD in xi 3.0?

    Hi,
Can anyone tell to delete the complete SLD and it's COntent Files in XI 3.0.
Please suggest me as possible as early.because i want to migrate our XI Server from UNIX to AIX so that i want to install on AIX system but before that i want delete complete SLD and again i will install it.

You can delete the Content files in IR and ID but i dont think you would need to delete the SLD itself as We can reconfigure the SLD in new system, that is the child system and the old system will be the parent system.
you have to export the old system to new system.
even now if you want to delete the SLD. you can remove it from landscape.

  • How to Delete Complete Scenario 7.1 ?

    Hi Expters
How we can delete all the objects of IR (ER) and ID Objects . and SLD TS and BS ,Product, swcv
Where to start like produt, swcv,ir,id ... or  ?
    Thanks
    G.Praveen Kumar

    Hi,
As far as I know First we have to delete the
    1). ID objects
    2). IR objects
    3). SLD objects.
Because we are using the Software component version in IR and business system in ID these are created in the SLD and we are using the IR objects in the ID.

  • How to delete screen saver preferences

    Friends,
I'm running an imac 27 i7 with fully up-to-date snow leopard. I have my screen saver set to an aperture smart folder with family photos. Periodically, the machine switches the screen saver folder to a completely unrelated folder of about five photographs. It's annoying, to say the least.
I'd like to delete the screen saver preferences and see if that helps. How do I find them?
    Thanks!
    Steve

    Doug,
When you go to system preferences>desktop & screen savers>desktop. On the left is a window with the names of the images listed. Apple Images, Nature file, Plants file, Picture Folder, Choose Folder and so forth. The ones that come with Apple products. Not sure what all else is native to Apple.
Iv been using my own desktop background since the day I got the iBook. Normally I just get one photo or image and more it there to use. But, last week I did something different or wrong. Maybe holding a button to long, not sure. Instead of moving the one photo it moved the entire photo file. That file had over 200 (2,500x1,800 in size & over 550KB for each) and probably closer to 250 photos in it.
Way to many to be there. And I simply can't find a way to remove that file from the desktop list. I can high light it, but it doesn't delete with the delete button. I can high light it, but it doesn't change anything in system preferences banner to edit, view, etc....to remove it either. It won't click & drag to trash.
Being very careful because I don't want to delete the file and by error delete it totally off the computer. I could creat a new file with only 1 photo in it for use as the desktop background. Then try to choose that file. However, since the last big OS-X update it's been doing this. Everytime I choose a file or photo it's adding the entire file not just the 1 photo. And Iv managed to add 3 files so far to that list.
    Any ideas? Thx, Mike

  • Apple App Store is used for Account. How to Avoid It? How to Delete All Sharing Preferences?

Every time I go to the Apple App Store, I have intrusion, relentless stalking, piggy back computer usage, ID Theft, Account takeovers, and theft problems on everything including all brands of email accounts. I keep changing the ID and the passwords intermittently, but attacks continue. Erasing or replacing the HD does not remedy the situation either.
As of now, the computer has practically empty; 979.87 GB free out of 1TB. It may have a couple of notes, pdf's, and some bookmarks. It was recently erased and is running on the OS X 10.7.5 to avoid Apple App Store updates to Mavericks, Pages, Keynote, etc. The security was set on everything I could think of to use the internet safely.
Besides surfing the web, I only did a few things. Because Chrome is better recommended, I used Safari to download Firefox, then used Firefox to download Chrome. Safari won't download it directly. I checked Yahoo mail. I used the Apple ID to post a question in the Apple Communities (within 24-48 hours of today). I changed the password to Apple ID in case there was an issue later. (I have to change the password almost 100% of the time because it gets stolen often) I usually erase Firefox because I don't use it. This time I left it there while I worked on other things & erased it later.
After reading some online material, the system started to run slow as though there was too much data or space being taken up. Then I felt that someone or someone was using it at the same time. I disconnected the Ethernet and left an idle screen (it will sleep after a few minutes) because no sharing options remained. All fields are depopulated. All internet connection options were turned off and removed. Only the Ethernet remains. Unfortunately, that Bluetooth button can still be turned "on" and/or "discoverable". I don't know it this will still work with Bluetooth turned off  and removed in Sharing. Please clarify that for me.
When I returned, the screen saver was changed. I expected to use a password to get back onto the computer, but no password was needed. I checked the settings and found the password for logging onto an idle & sleeping screen was removed. No one physically changed things around. This was done remotely or through malware.
I checked various system preferences, and found the locks to Sharing was open with some of the components set up for usage (public files, bluetooth, remote apple events, etc.). I tried to change some options, but some items did not move. I tried to lock it but it would not lock. I tried other sys pref screens and found that some of them had been dismantled too.
I tried to open the lock for other changes, but the password to System Preferences was changed.
Is it normal to get a password popup window to LOCK users & groups when it is OPEN? I don't believe you need a password to lock it. Eventually, open locks closed with no chance to immediately reopen it to adjust the preferences (all passwords were changed).
The terminal looks like it was used. No history was found. Reseting Password rejected new passwords. iTunes sharing could not be changed and parental control refused to lock. After waiting an hour or two, was able to lock it. I wonder what it was being used for.
Now that the internet and the network are disconnected (before sending this message), everything is still extremely slow. A single window takes a long time to open. I have no idea what is making it drag and I don't know where to look.
If history is repeating itself, then the computer is set for piracy just like before. Every place I go is watched, all passwords are captured, all files are checked, all email accounts can be stolen, chat and messages are used (email & computer), iTunes will be logged into, other types of accounts are stolen/taken over, and everything I type is read. Any changes will be sabotaged.
I am confident that someone in the Apple Community will have the answers to getting rid of this problem for good. If you don't have all the answers, then perhaps you have good resources and referrals (not speculations or guesses).
I read about apps, software, or devices that either detect or deter this type of problem. What are they and how do they work?
Q- Also, exactly what are the steps to transfer the OS X 10.7.5, Mavericks, and the future Yosemite to a flash drive or disk to avoid future contact with the Apple App Store or using the Apple ID? (external HD's have been sabotaged in the past-via remote or erasing program of some sort)
Q- How to permanently get rid of Messages & Chats
Q- How to permanently remove Dropbox & Public file sharing?
Q- How to permanently remove all sharing options?
Q- Are there other ways to share (codes, commands, etc.) that need be to blocked/fixed/patched? If so, then what are they?
Q- Are computers stalked by IP address? by Network? by computer numbers or codes? or just by traps or their accounts?
Q- Is there a handy, "go to" type of checklist of where to look or what to do when there is a a suspicion of implants in the computer?

  • How to delete completed reminders automatically

When I complete a reminder, is there a way for the reminder to be deleted, either immediately or after a short period of time?

It's annoying, because that is the way completed Reminders worked in the previous version of OSX and before Reminders were added to iOS6.  Reminders were in OSX previously and they were part of the Calendar application.  In the Calendar preferences, you could specify the number of days that you wanted Completed Reminders to be kept.  And they automatically deleted after that time period.  However, when they split Reminders out of Calendar and made it a new application on OSX and also added it to IOS and iCloud, they did not maintain this "tidy things up" preference as far as I can tell.  So my list of Completed items is now about 250 items long.  I can manually delete them in iOS or OSX one at a time or  and even delete them fairly quicky on the  iCloud website, but still one at a time.  It's annoying to lose functionality for an existing application just because it was "enhanced" in other ways.  Frustrating.

  • How to Delete complete package from R/3

    Hello Friends,
I've deleted all the subojects of a package and then tried to delete the package name.
But still i'm getting a message stating still the package contains subobjects.
Please guide me how i can proceed further.
    Thanks in advance!
    Best Regards
    Prasad

    Hello Prasad
If you have plenty of obsolete TADIR entries to delete then I would suggest to write a simple ABAP
    PARAMETERS:
p_devc     TYPE devc   default '<name of your obsolete package>'.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
SELECT * FROM tadir INTO gs_tadir
WHERE obj_name NE '<name of your obsolete package>'
AND       devclass = '<name of your obsolete package>'.
         DELETE tadir FROM gs_tadir.
" NOTE: Be very careful not to delete other TADIR entries !!!
      ENDSELECT.
    COMMIT WORK.
Or you could edit table TADIR using transaction SE16N (should not be a problem on the DEV system).

  • How to delete PERMANENTLY an app?

Hello everybody! I have a problem with one of my apps... About 3 weeks, my "Dragon City" is still crashing - it loads around 45% and then, it send me back to the Menu Screen. I tried to delete it by going to Setting -> General -> Usage and then I deleted the app. Then, I went to App Store to re-download it, but, a cloud with arrow (or something like that) appears (see more concretely in the photo). My question is: How to delete completely, permanently an app? I want to re-download it just like I never downloaded it before, normally. Thanks in advance! Best regards!

That cloud icon just indicates that you have previously purchased or downloaded the app. It is not on your device and tapping the cloud button will redownload and install it just as if it were a brand new purchase. (And there is no way to change that)

  • How can I completely disable Airport / BlueTooth?

    Hello All,
I've asked this in another thread, but have just realized that there is a dedicated Airport discussion area. So, I figured I would refine my question using information gathered from my previous discussion, and see if you fine people here in this discussion group might be able to shed additional light on my question.
    So, here we go:
For those that want the background on my question, the original thread is at:
    http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?128@@.68bc9dac
My desire is to completely disable the Airport and BlueTooth features that are now integrated into the new systems.
I am considering purchasing a new iMac G5 or Power Mac G5, and want to see if it is possible to disable these features before I spend my money.
While others are convinced that I am crazy, my personal desire is not to have this type of radio frequency / radiation emissions on my desk.
I know there are many who feel it is not an issue or problem, so rather than discuss whether it is a warranted concern, I would prefer to discuss the simple matter of whether it can be disabled.
(see my previous discussion for my feelings / research on the subject)
My previous discussion led me to understand that it is soldered into the main board on the 2 latest revisions of the iMac G5, and probably also on the Power Mac G5. Any confirmations / corrections there?
I was hoping that I could simply unplug them like I could on older systems to eliminate them completely.
If that is not possible at all on the iMac G5's or Power Mac G5's, then here are a couple of additional questions:
I have learned that there is a setting in OS X to "Turn Off" the Airport features.
Does this setting actually power down and completely deactivate the Airport circuitry so that it would be essentially the same as if it were removed? Or, does it simply ignore the Airport controller and leave it powered-up?
    Any knowledge there?
Secondly, anyone know if there is a similar setting for Blue Tooth? If there is, same question. Does it completely shut-down / power-off the Blue Tooth circuitry? Or, does it simply ignore it and leave it electrically powered?
My end goal is to have absolutely no signal coming out of the computer's Airport and BlueTooth circuitry. I want it to be essentially the same as if they were not even present.
If you know where I might find technical documents supporting or explaining how this enable / disable feature works (in relation to the above question), I would greatly appreciate it.
Additionally, in the event that disabling the features in Software / OS X doesn't work, is it safe (or possible) to simply disconnect the antenna from the Airport / BlueTooth controller or circuitry. It would seem that this might be quite easy on the Power Mac G5. It might still be possible on the iMac G5's with built-in Airport and Blue Tooth.
Yes, I know that some will think this quite unusual. Some may think I'm weird or strange. But, if you read my other discussion, you might understand my personal perspective and concern.
Either way, I am hopeful that rather than discussing whether there is a valid concern, that we might be able to discuss options and ideas on how to disable these features.
    Thank you in advance.

Your original thread on this topic has pretty well beaten the subject to death.
Yes, turning "Off" the Airport card from the MacOS Airport menu does indeed turn off its radio transmitter. That is the method recommended for people who, for example, want to take their Mac laptops on an aircraft where one is not allowed to have a radio transmitter on during the flight.
There is a similar setting in Bluetooth Preferences.

  • How to delete iMessage on iphone? Completely complete it.

How do I completely delete iMessage from my iphone?

    HI,
As CT says Messages can receive Messages (IMs and iMessages)  from the accounts set up in it and those that are Enabled.
You can go to Messages Menu > Preferences > Accounts and untick all the boxes or each account that reads "enable" this Account.
You can go further and Sing Out on the iMessages account
All the other except the Bonjour one you can highlight then use the minus Button at the bottom of the List to delete.
Alternatively you can go to System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars and deselect the Messages option against the IDs that are now listed in Messages.
    NOTE
You cannot delete the Bonjour Option in Messages  (everyone gets this one) It can only be turned Off

How Restore Deleted or Missing OS X Components
A few of the basic OS X installed applications can be restored from the Optional Installs installer located in the Optional installs folder on your Installer DVD.  However, if what you need is not there then follow the instructions below.
How to Use Pacifist to Restore Deleted or Missing OS X Components
Insert the OS X Installer DVD into the optical drive.  Use a simple utility like TinkerTool to toggle invisibility so you can see invisible items.  Alternatively, open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and at the prompt enter the following:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles Yes
    Press RETURN.
To turn off the display of invisible files repeat the above command substituting No for Yes.
The install packages are located in the /System/Installation/ folder on the DVD.
Download the shareware utility Pacifist. Use it to extract a fresh copy of the missing item(s) from the file archives on your OS X installation DVD. The file archives are in the /System/Installations/ folder (use Go to Folder option in the Go menu of the Finder.)
Here are Four Basic ways to use Pacifist (courtesy of George Orville.)
Drag a .pkg icon onto the Pacifist window .....proceed to step 7.
Click on “Open Package ....” and navigate to package desired and click “Open” in the open/save window.....proceed to step 7.
Insert Mac OS X installer CD and when it mounts, navigate to .... Menu->Go->Go to Folder. In the path field enter or paste ....
/Volumes/disc name/System/Installation/Packages (where disc name is the name of the CD/DVD that you inserted.)
Click on the  "Go" button ..... • Drag a .pkg to Pacifist..... proceed to step 7.
The package you'll need will have to be discovered by trial and error, but for most applications you should start with the Essentials.pkg and/or Additional Essentials.pkg.
    D. Insert your Mac OS X install disk 1 .... and open Pacifist.
    1.          In Pacifist, select "Open Mac OS X Install Packages" ... dialog may appear asking for disk 2, then disk 3 and finally disk 1 again.... {if DVD is not used)...If “Stop Loading” is selected...the procedure will stop!!!
2a. When loading is complete, a new window appears, click the triangle to display contents of each package...Select item and proceed to step 7.
2b.          or click the “Find” icon in the Pacifist window and type the name of the software you need.
    3.          In the list that comes back, click the top most entry for the item that you want. ..... that is the one for the English language.
    4.          On the top of the Pacifist window, click “verify” .... you will probably be prompted for your password.
    5.          Enter checks for.... “verify permissions” and “verify file contents.” and click “verify” ....enter password when prompted.... you will get back output which may look like this:
20 files were scanned. 20 of 20 files were present on the hard disk. 0 of 20 files had file permissions that did not match those specified in the package. 0 of 20 files had checksums that did not match those specified in the package.
    6.          Click “close”. Go to step 7.
    Extract or Install........
    7.          In the Toolbar (upper left), you now have the option to extract or install. Click a file in the lower list and those two icons will be enabled.
    8.          If “Extract to...” is selected.... navigate to the location where the file will be placed, select “choose”, select “extract” in new dialog that appears, authenicate , if prompted, click “OK”.
    9.          In the next dialog, click “Extract”.
    10.          If “Install” is selected... dialog will appear with the location/path of the installed software. Click “Install”
    11.          Type in your password, click “OK”
Pacifist will begin to extract files.
    12.          In steps 8/10ß.... you also have the choice to “cancel”
Notes:          Pacifist may find that a file it is installing already exists on the hard disk. Pacifist will present you with an alert panel....
    Stop
    Leave original alone
    Update .....
    Default selection
Replace .... (Replace option should only be used on full install packages)

  • How can i completely delete message app from my mac?

how can i completely delete the message app from my mac?

    As per email.
    Hi,
In the Finder (have any window open), Use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
This will show the Library in the Menu, select this.
    Navigate to the Preferences folder.
Find the com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist file and drag it to the Trash.
This is the one Messages reads directly to create the Receive At list and, if shown, the Start Conversations From drop down.
If Messages was starting properly and you restarted it at the point you would have to re-enter the Apple ID.
    On the iPhone.
Go to Settings > Messages  and check the app is ON first.
Then check the Send and Receive Section.
This will always list the iPhone Number as ticked and Greyed out (You can’t edit it).
Having said that I have twice found the Number to be Unchecked (whilst still grey out).
If this is the case go to the Apple ID section and Remove the Apple ID.
This will also remove it from the Send and Receive section (you can’t do it the other way round.)
Once that is done, place the iPhone in Airplane mode to break with the Servers.
After a few minutes take it out of Airplane Mode and return to Setting > Messages
You should see the iPhone Number being Verified. Wait until this is done.
(I would normally suggest sending an iMessage to the Apple ID at this point as it would be the only Active ID on the Mac. And sending a reply)
You can now add the Apple ID back to the iPhone if you wish to use that as well, if you intend to use it.
If not then you way want this site https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage
Please stick to one method of asking me  (The thread will do for now.)
I am here 3 hours every evening.
I read all the new post regarding email alerts from the boards.
I then filter the Yosemite, Mavericks and iChat Areas using the Contents page and where require Messages or iMessages and deal with unread one.
Posting here at 2.41PM (according to the Time view I have) and then emailing me 11 minutes later seems like you are giving me the hurry up.
In the email and this Post you are not clear if you want Messages to work again.
