How to delete downloading movies in iTunes

Over new year when itunes had that 12 days of christmas give away app, I started downloading Lesbian Vampire killers on my iPod touch.
The download never started, infact it keeps saying Downloading failed tap to try again.
It doesnt matter how many times I press it, it wont download. So I thought Id give up and delete it.
I cant find a way to cancel the download, and every time I turn on my iPod now it keeps asking me to enter my iTunes password so it can try downloading again, and its getting on my nerves.
Does anyone know how to delete this Download??

this is not something a user can do. contact iTunes customer support and have them clean up your account.

I have just installed the music i have on my new ipad2 and there are several songs that have not been downloaded because they are from different itunes accounts. I dont know the passwords to them so they are sitting under downloads wih the error massage- tap to download.

you aren't missing this. Show duplicates is NOT a tool to allow to simply select all and hit deleted. It is showing you the duplicates, one beside the other, to allow you to discriminate two songs having the same name but that may not be duplicate. For exemple, they may be two different version of a same song and that you want to keep them. For this reason, automated process are somehow risky to loose also song that you want to keep.
however, if you still want to proceed with an automated script, you can find some at http://dougscripts.com/itunes/.
Personnally, I would still discriminate duplicated songs manually by reviewing the list of "show duplicate" to avoid deletion of song I wish to keep. I also have a quite large library and found many songs having the same name and not being duplicates.

The Movies or Tv episodes wil have the languages that are avialable listed in the Details for it. If they have a Spanish language track you can select it when you start to play the movie after downloading.
Alternatively, if you have an account for a store from a spanish speaking country, such as Mexico or Spain, you can download form there and you'll find more content in that language than in an English speaking country's store.

Downloads are deleted to make room for something else or when the device is turned off, if you don't want your downloads removing, you need to avoid doing one of the things that will cause this.

Downloads happen one at a time. A Downlaod will not start until a previous one has completed.
So first make sure you don't have an App or a podcast downloading somewhere or pasued as it would be holding up the rest of the download queue.
If that is not the case, you can try restarting your iPad to see if that prompts the downloads to start..
Hold down the Home and Pwoer buttons until you see the Apple Logo. Ignore any sliders that may appear.

I guess you meant buying something. You can't cancel something you bought. Why would you since you can preview anything before purchase? If you have an issue with your download or a technical issue with your purchase, you can always contact AppleStore support.

8008 Error when trying to download movies from iTunes

I've searched Google and the discussion boards but no one seems to have a fix for the 8008 error when trying to download movies in iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes, my Mac Mini is up to date with all of it's patches, I've tried deleting the movie in the download folder and redownload the movie but I still get nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix?

These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
Mac OS X:  ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.

You have a couple of options for transferring your music library from one computer to another. First, you can download all of your music that is stored in the cloud on iTunes Match by following the instructions on this page:

You can follow steps listed in the section right here:
Play or download songs from iCloud
You can play songs directly from iCloud, or you can download songs so you can play them when you’re not connected to the Internet.
If a song is available in iCloud, it has a Download button next to it.
To play the song, double-click it.
To download the song, click the Download button.
After you download a song to a computer, it remains in the computer’s iTunes library, even if you turn off iTunes Match.
To only display downloaded songs in your iTunes library, choose View > Hide Music in the Cloud. This also hides any previous iTunes Store purchases you haven’t downloaded.
For information about downloading and playing songs on an iOS device, see the documentation for the device.
In order to make it easier to download all of your music, you can highlight all of the songs in your iTunes Match section and then click download, as mentioned in these instructions.
You can also choose to transfer the music from your old computer to the new one by following the steps in this article, whcih will give you some other options for doing this transfer:
