How to delete duplicates on my iPad?

Hey everyone,
I downloaded "A Christmas Gift" by Kylie Minogue (via the iTunes 12 Days of Christmas app), and after sync with iTunes, the titles are duplicated, but only on my iPad, not in iTunes. A second sync and deleting all my songs on my iPad did not help.

If the music works like photos, you can not delete those placed on the iPad via iTunes sync...only those downloaded directly. So, delete from the download and not those you placed there by sync using Carolyn's suggestion.
This took some effort to figure out what was going on when placing photos on and then syncing photos, including some dups, from iTunes.
Hope it works the same for music.

I noticed that I have duplicates songs on the iPad but not on iTunes on my PC. I even sleected not to sync music and synced my iPad with iTunes. To my surprise I still have 33 songs left on my iPad after the sync. I then selected the sync music again and I still have the same duplicates. Any idea how I can delete the songs from the iPad? I'm running the latest OS on the iPad.

I have the same problem as above. I turned off icloud and stopped automatic downloads. I deleted all music from my ipad but it still left the new tracks I downloaded yesterday with duplicates. They won't play or delete even by swipping or deleting all music. They look slightly different too, they have a circle with a square in the middle at the end of each track (like a stop playing symbol). If I sync the tracks I can delete the ones which play but not the duplicates. it's driving me mad!!!

Does anyone know how to delete duplicate photographs I seem to have so many, is this anything to do with photostream as I have an ipad as well. I have over 7000 photos and find it impossible to find them all. When I first got Apple 9 years ago there was a drop down menu that found all duplicates which you could then delete but that was taken off at some point. I would be really gratful for some help i am not savvy with the technical side of computing.

I'm with you verm71; it's not entirely clear how Apple is expecting you to manage this. I'm going on vacation soon and want to clean up my phone so that it's nice and empty for the new pictures. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this without losing your pictures in the new Photos as well. If imported, it's impossible to see which is the Cloud version and which is the Local version. It's very annoying.
I've also noticed in iPhoto you used to have the ability to locate the original of the picture inside the photo database. That option is not provided in Photos, making finding the original extremely difficult.
It seems to be a great, well-oiled system. But I would love to know how Apple envisions the typical workflow for archiving...

I recently used the camera connection kit to download photos (JPEG and Raw) from my Canon G12 to my iPad. Since I have gotten home, I have been transferring the photos to iPhoto on my MacBook Pro. When I try to delete the photos from my iPad, it will delete the JPEG but not the CR2 Raw file. Since the Photos app on the iPad doesn"t "see" the Raw files, I can't delete them directly on the iPad and there doesn't seem to be any way to do it from iPhoto when my iPad is connected to my MacBook Pro.
