How to delete 'edited' iphoto folder on ipad ?
Folks,
Recently in the iphoto app of my ipad3, i have edited one of the photo albums by way of adding captions to the photos in one album.
After which a new album by name 'edited' was found on the album shelf. this folder is never seen in the itunes at the time of syncing. with the contents of the original album and this edited album being the same (including the photo sequence and the captions i have introduced) my questions are:
1. Why this 'edited' folder formed in the first place?
2. Is there a way to deleted this folder and retain only the main folder with captions.
Response would be highly appreciated.

Where? In the mail app? One of the remembered email addresses that popup? ID so, when the address pops up in the window, tap the blue arrow next to the contact email address and then tap Remove From Recents in the next window.

Who can teach me? Thanks a lot.The edited photo album is where the recipes for the edits you made are stored. The Edited folder is created and removed automatically by iPhoto for iOS. It will disappear when there are no edited photos.
If you want to remove the edited photos go to each photo and select revert to Original. That will delete the edited version. Once all edited photos have been Reversted to their original version, the Edited Photos album will disappear.
Of course the next time you edit a photo the album will return.
Note that the Edited Photos album only shows in iPhoto for iOS. It does not appear in the Photos app. -

In the inbox list on the left side click "edit" (top right): this will put a little O before each message, then click the O for the messages that you want to delete, a red mark will come in the O. When you have marked the messages that you want to delete click the "delte" button on the bottom.

What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:

GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system. But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio. Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.

Besides 'new album' , 'wall photos', or 'iPhoto Uploads' ... it only shows 24 pre-existing albums to choose. I need to see the other 50, 60, etc albums I have.
I've also noticed that iPhoto fails to load to certain albums with some 'Domin Exception' error of some kind (not sure the exact message).You need to make the new Mac iTunes library your syncing library. iTunes on the Mac sees your iPad as a new device because you have never synced with this computer before. You can make the Mac your syncing computer by following the instructions in this user tip. You will be able to transfer the purchased music on the iPad into iTunes when you follow this procedure.

The Mac version of iPhoto is not the same as the iOS version. So you cannot transfer iPhoto used on your Mac to your iPad. But if you previously purchased the iOS version of iPhoto you can download it again for another iOS device so long as that device is using the same Apple ID and the device that was used to purchase iPhoto in the forst place.

iPhoto on the iPad and iPhoto on the Mac are completely different programs. The Mac version cannot run on the iPad, because the operating systems and the processors are different. Don't expect, that iPhoto on the iPad will be able to do the same things as your iPhoto for Mac, pr that you can keep the two iPhoto libraries in sync.

The above is from your very first post. I did not realize that you have a pile of photos that need to be imported into iPhoto and that you have a structure that you wish to preserve. That being the case...
These instructions are based on my belief that all of your photos are still available somewhere OUTSIDE iPhoto with your desired structure.
Repeat all of the above instructions to create a brand new EMPTY library. As before, move that library to where you want it and point iPhoto toward it.
Now, do not import all of your photos at one time. That will result in one single humungous roll and massive confusion. Also, iPhoto will not allow an import of folders that are inside other folders. Each folder must contain only photos and must be imported all by itself. While still outside iPhoto, place the photos into separate folders with some sort of organization that's important to you. Subfolders are OK but keep the above comment in mind as you're importing.
ONE AT A TIME, import each subfolder within ONE "main" folder. iPhoto will treat each subfolder (really a folder) as a single roll. From INSIDE iPhoto, create an iPhoto folder to represent the contents of ALL of these rolls. Create an album for each roll and, at least for now, put the contents of one roll into one album (you can change this later). Place these albums inside the aptly-named folder.
Repeat the above paragraph for another "main" folder.
Continue as necessary until all of your photos are imported. -
How to delete the home folder of a deleted account?
After I set up a new account, I transferred everything from my old macbook pro to my new iMac (so it has a moutain lion system. I'm sure you know it. Just want to make it clear ) through migration assistance from time machine. Then I realized that an extra account (my old one) plus many unnecessary data had been transferred to my new iMac. Therefore, I decided to delete this old account.
HOWEVER, when I deleted the account, I failed to delete the home folder--I chose to delete it securely; but after it started backing up, I simply cancel the backup (which is a HUGE mistake) Then I found the account was deleted but its home folder stayed-- it occupied over 150GB of my new iMac.
Could anyone tell me how I can delete the home folder securely?
in addition, since I only want to transfer iphoto pictures, iTune music and some important documents to my new account, should I simply copy thme to an external drive and transfer them to my new account?
Thanks a lot for your help!In system preferences, create a new account again, using the short name of the "deleted" account. You may be prompted to re-use the old home folder. Log out and log in to test it worked. Then log in as your new admin, and do the delete process again. Don't choose to securely delete this time - just a regular delete.
When you have time to spare, go to Disk Utility, and use the Erase tab to securely erase free space on the drive. This will accomplish the same thing that your originally tried to do. Use the fastest method - anything more secure is a waste of time. You may need to run it overnight - it can take several hours.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
