How to delete email account on ipad2 when no delete button is present?

II created an email account through my previous employer using IBM Lotus Notes Traveler.  Now I cannot delete it as there is no "delete" button present.  Any clues?

    The ability to do that would depend on the type of email account that you have. If it is a POP account, it cannot be done. If it is an IMAP account, it should sync across devices automatically. If you are not sure what type of account it is, who is your email provider?

    If the accounts have been set up with Nokia Messaging, then go to email.nokia.com, log in there with the details of the first account you set up, and then you can delete accounts you don't need.
    Once done when the phone next syncs it will remove them from the phone.
    If they are manually configured accounts, then on the phone, just go to Email->Settings-> scroll to the account -> Options -> Remove mailbox

    Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address (you shouldn't need to verify the old account).  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

    I just accidnetally deleted email account and there wa sno warining so it went through and I lost all my emails. The email was not Back up. Is there any way how this account could be recovered?

    If the account was an IMAP account your emails should re-appear if you recreate the email account. If the account was POP you hopefully have backup (TIme Machine?) you can restore the emails from.

    It's my understanding that an iPhone can only sync with one computer. You need to choose one computer. Sounds like it syncs at work, but not at home. If you want to just sync it at home, then you have to make sure the home computer has all the info that you want on it, like music etc. Then you have to deauthorize the work computer for it to sync at home. When you connect it will ask if you want to set up as a new iPhone or restore from backup. If you don't have a backup on the home computer then either way you will be wiped clean. So any photos, contacts, notes etc you have will be erased. You would need to backup or copy your photos from your iPhone. When you connect it to your home computer, it will give you that popup message to open your iPhone files. Then you can copy those photos and save them onto your computer and sync them back in through iTunes.
    For your contacts, do you use any type of address book? If so you'll want to back that up and then transfer to your home computer. For notes, you can just email those to yourself and then save that email. I use MobileMe so the contacts issue is easily resolved.

    This will require an explanation before I can get to my question so here I go. I have several email accounts that sync to my phone. I have now deleted one of my email accounts. The problem is that when I compose an email from any of the remaining email accounts still on my phone and start to type the name of the contact that I want to send the email to contacts from the deleted email account are still being displayed. I need to be able to remove the contacts from the deleted email account from my phone. These are contacts that are not part of my phone contacts. They are contacts that I have replied to from the deleted email account. If I have not clearly described my issue please let me know. Thanks for any suggestions anyone may have.

    There is a system-wide email address cache. The only way to clear that cache is to perform a Restore via iTunes, and set your phone up as new (the list is backed up), meaning you'd need to reload all your content, redo your settings, etc.

  • E71, cannot delete email account.

    This problem has been dealt with but sollutions suggested does not work for me.
    My E71 unlocked  3,  works fairly well on orange.  I deleted  the 3 mail account and added a imap google apps account and does not work well due to folders on my google apps. It freezes. Now i m unable to delete the email account as there is no delete options.
    Messaging > options > settings > E-mail > options    has no delete option. available options are "change, New mail Box, Help, Exit" 
    This is same if I go to Menu > communications > messaging > Settings > E-mail> options

    Are you removing your private email account or Mail for Exchange account or Lotus Notes?
    Are you using Nokia Messaging service or direct connection to Email service?
    What is the error message, when you try to remove mail account?
    If you are using the Nokia Messaging service, go to the Email application, select Settings > Highlight the mailbox that needs to be removed  > Select Options. > Remove mailbox. > Yes.

    I have got 3 email accounts on my N96. I wanted to delete the oldest one, that is a POP3, but it will not get delete. I go through menu/messaging/options/emails and mark the one I want to delete and than I wait a little and nothing happens - the email account stays. I've tried with the other 2 accounts and it works fine - they get delete.
    Can anybody help me on this problem. How can I delete this email account, that won't get delete by the standard way.

    Try again without using WLAN. I had same problem, but solved it using GPRS.

    with the new iOS 8.1.1 I cannot delete an email account from my 4s phone? When you are in setting and go into the email account there is no selection to delete the account. Why not? turning it off does not help when I need to redo the account. Please help so frustrated I am ready to cry. I hate the new updates and should have stayed with 7. I had no problems with 7.     Welcome to the Support Communities!  I'm sorry to hear you are so frustrated with your email on the iPhone.  What email account are you trying to delete?  You  should be able to delete the account just like you did in iOS 7.
    In step 5 C below, make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the window to see the red "Delete Account" option.
