How to delete grey rests?

Hello All,
Im working on a piece that is using a SATB Choir. In the score editor preferences, I have created a custom staff style:
However, in the score there are grey rests where notes (that take the full value of the bar) are:
How it works is that I have set the top notes of the treble clef to Channel 1 for soprano, the bottom notes of the treble clef to channel 2 for Alto, the top notes of the bass clef to channel 3 for tenor and the lower notes of the bass clef to channel 4 for bass.
I cannot seem to make the grey notes disappear as they appear as seen above when I export the score to PDF.
I have tried many things:
1) set the 'Rest' category in image 1 to 'Hide' but this eliminates all of the rests so it was unfavourable
2) change the staff style to 'Piano 1/3 +4, but this had the same problem
3) set the 'Rests' to 'Hide' and insert the rests manually, this didn't work because the rests didn't go where i placed them and was very time consuming
Please try help me solve this problem!

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

You should be able to just click on it and hit the delete key even iff it is greyed out.

Tom at the Genius Bar told me that Option Delete would work. It does not.
I had to upgrade to iTunes 11.1.(I26) because it is required with OS7 on my iPod Touch (5th Gen). I have tried shutting down iTunes, then shutting down the entire system. This is the first in many visits that the Genius Bar gave me a solution that did not work.
This is a big awkward computer locked to my desk. I would rather not unlock it and then carry it through a shopping center to the Genius Bar if i can avoid oit.
When I installed iTunes 11.1, I discovered that Ihad to resubscribe to virtually all of the podcasts that I had previously been subscribed to. That was a surprise.

    Hello Achates:
I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

We'll I don't think there's a easy way to delete a lot of emails besides deleting all of them. To delete all of them click on inbox them edit then "mark all" then trash/delete. Other than that you will have to specifically deleted the ones you want to delete.

  • HT201302 How to delete photos from camera roll only, let the rest remain in albums? Is there any no-PC or no iTunes solution for this?

How to delete photos from camera roll only, let the rest remain in albums? Is there any no-PC or no iTunes solution for this?

If these are albums, you created on your phone, using pics in your camera roll, you delete the pics from your camera roll & they will be deleted from the albums as well. The albums don't actually contain any photos, only pointers to the actual photos, which are in your camera roll.
So, the answer to your question is no.

  • How to delete duplicates in 5 minutes, any version

Do you want a magic wand? Read this entirely before you start using my magic wand: Open your music folder, select iTunes, then iTunes Media folder, then Music folder there.  Open each artist folder and copy the song files only to another folder of your choosing elsewhere on your computer, do this one artist at a time or you can get windows to do it, but you can look how to do that up.  You need to have all music in ONE FOLDER, no sub-folders, you can use several methods but the quickest is to open a fold press control A then control c and then with the destination for the copies opened already press control V.  These commands are select all, copy, and paste respectively.  I would move the files since it can cause administrator privilege problems. Once all music is in another folder with no sub-folders, just the music files press control F to open find.  type in (1).mp3 or (1).m4a or whichever file extension the music is (there are 8: .mp3 , .m4a , .m4v , .wma are the main ones.  Anyway, once you type in (1).m4a all duplicates will be highlighted.  Hit delete.
Congratulations.  You have now deleted every duplicate are in the library. Every single one, because windows add (#). to any duplicate file o any kind in windows.  ANYTHING.  The number depends on how many duplicates have been added, for example (1).m4a (2).m4a (3).m4a....etc.  You can do this for every file extension type, such as (1).mp3 then (1)m4a to be safe or you can just type (1). by itself and get all fill types.  I don't recommend because it can accidentally delete things you don't want to.  The best way is to hit control F then enter (1).m which will select all the music files with the exception of windows media music which is .wma.  For all duplicates i would search for number (1) (2) and (3).  If you have more than three duplicates you can connect the dots on how to find the rest.
Any how, then go back to iTunes, select all songs, (control A) hit delete and move to recycle bin.  I would delete from cloud too, but that's up to you. I do this because i have iTunes match and it will automatically add to iCloud when i hit update iTunes match.  MAKE SURE THAT IN PREFERENCES UNDER the EDIT menu list on the menu bar, you have set iTunes to auto organize your library and auto copy files to the iTunes library before you add the files back.  Click menu, add file, then select all the files in whatever folder you copied the music to, don't just add folder because it can create errors. Use the add file then open the folder and press control A to select all then enter.
You are done.  No duplicates, no program needed, no spyware or malware or any other crap.  Simply put, this whole process takes about 10 minutes, maybe 15 on a reasonably fast machine.  It depends on your hard type, chipset speed, processor, and how big your library is.  I did it using a 6 core 3.8 ghz 64bit system to a 750gb solid state drive @ 3.0gbs sata setting.  It took about 6 minutes total.  One last thing, if you have previously deleted the ORIGINAL file then you will delete your current copy because it will be the duplicate not the original, easy way to prevent is to save the file you original copied the music files only to as a back up on another hard drive or server or another folder, just to be safe.
    Problem solved.

Manually moving 100s or 1000s of folders worth of tracks to a common location is hardly going to take 5 minutes, though if your library is small enough it may have suited you. Deleting and reimporting media from the library loses ratings, play counts, playlist membership etc. When iTunes adds a new track whose properties would normally mean that it occupies the same location as an existing file it adds a trailing space and a digit. When Windows Explorer is used to merge folders and files have the same names it may offer to add (1) (2) etc. rather than replace but that should be an option.
If the library has no duplicates, but the folder does, simply add the media folder to the library and then dedupe by sorting on Date Added as shown below. For anything more complex I would recommend using my script for best results.
Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning
to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

  • HOW TO Delete Unused Media from FINAL CUT PRO

*HOW TO DELETE UNUSED MEDIA FROM HARD DRIVE IN FINAL CUT PRO.* Keywords: disk disc drive space remove compressor
    SUMMARY:
Say your original clip is 10 gigs, you can use only what you need and delete the rest from your hard drive. I know people on the forums say to just buy another hard drive, NO! It took 2 days to figure out but here it is!!! Email me if needed at [email protected]
    QUESTION:
I captured 1 hour of video at a time and now want to delete from my hard drive all the parts I don’t want to use. I have 300GB of junk on my hard drive and I only want to use a few scenes using a few megabytes, so that I'll get most of my 300GB back!!!!
    ANSWER:
In final cut on Mac, click on one small clip (to get familiar with process), go to “file”, “export”, then “using compressor”. This will open compressor software. Your file will open in the left top window. Then you need to batch the job or jobs. IMPORTANT: I’ve also solved the Compressor problem when you press “submit” to a batch and it states “Cluster: None”. Search forum for “In compressor you experience what I have”.
    <Edited by Moderator>

Part of the problem could lie in the fact it's an imovie project coming into FCP, wouldn't rule that out. Second my be the terms you use and what you expect to happen. For example, a subclip is just a smaller clip subbed from a larger clip. It has nothing to do with media management. But you can media manage a subclip and delete the unused media.
Try this (be sure to back up the original clip first). take a long clip into the viewer, make an IN and OUT duration of like 30 frames and then subclip that, Modify > Make Subclip. a new subclip will appear in the browser with a torn clip icon and the name Subclip. Right click on the subclip and choose Media Manager.... Check the Delete unused media from duplicated clip. As you toggle that the green Modified bar at the top change from the full clip size to a tiny modified size. If it does not then one of two things ... user error or the system is screwed up. That's the easiest way to test media manager.

  • Encore Mini WT7-C-100 - how to delete recovery partition

    Hi all,
I own an Encore Mini WT7-C-100 tablet with only 16GB storage.
After following all possible and existing solutions and recomendations in order to free up storage, free space on C: is limited to barely 500MB.
On the other hand, I noticed that the resovery partitiobn is almost 3GB large.
Though it seems that there is no way to remove this partition and extend C: in order to gain more disk space (3,5GB would be more than enough for me). Right clicking on this partition in Disk Management displays no avaliable actions (except "Help").
Please notice that I have already created a copy of the recovery partion on a USB drive (various posts in various forums indicated that Windows, after finishing with the copy on the USB, would propose for deleting the recovery parition but not such thing happened).
Please advice how to delete the recovery partition or for other actions in order to free up disk space in C:
    George
    Athens, Greece

Try to start the recovery using the HDD recovery procedure.
If you want to access the boot menu on please press and hold the "Vol+" button and turn on the device pressing power button.
After a few seconds the boot option menu will appear.
Then select "HDD Recovery" and the rest of the procedure is similar to the Windows 8 recovery process you can find here:

If this doesn’t help, try to recover the Toshiba WT8 / Encore tablet from a created recovery media

  • Can't delete old apps from iTunes. 'Delete' greyed out

I would like to delete a number of old apps from my iTunes.  However, when I go to the 'Apps' tab and highlight the app it doesn't delete.  Also, when I go into 'Edit', the 'Delete' button is greyed out.  I have tried logging out of my iTunes account and logging back in, switching the computer on and off and also by trying with both plugging in both my iPhone and iPad.  Nothing works!  I would much appreciate any ideas.
    Thanks.

    Hi bickyk,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The article below explains how to delete apps from your Mac, iPhone or iPad.  On your Mac, you should be able to click on the app to select it, and then press Delete on your keyboard.
If for some reason you are not able to delete the app from your computer, you can hide it instead.  Click on the link below for complete details.  I've highlighted the key points for you.
How to delete content you've downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5772
You can delete items that you bought from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store from your iOS device, Mac, or PC. Because Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation) plays content from the cloud, you don't need to delete items from your Apple TV.
Before you delete an item, make sure you can download it again. If you can't or need to pay to download it again, back up the item before you delete it.
After you delete an item, it might still be visible if you can download it again from iTunes in the Cloud. The Download  icon will appear next to these items. You can hide items available in iCloud and purchases from the Mac App Store.
    Apps
Open the section below for the device you're using.
    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Tap and hold the app you want to delete.
The apps will begin to jiggle.
Tap the X on the app.
    Mac or PC
    Open iTunes.
From the Library pop-up menu, choose Apps.
Click the app you want to delete.
    Press Delete on your keyboard.
Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT4928
    Hide your purchases
If you hide an item you purchased in the Mac App Store, you won't get update notifications for it, and you won't see it on your Purchases page. If you're using Family Sharing, hidden items will also be hidden from your family members.
Use these steps on OS X Mountain Lion or later:
    Open the Mac App Store.
Choose Store > Sign In, then enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
Right-click the item that you want to hide and choose Hide Purchase. A prompt will ask if you're sure that you want to hide the item.
Click the Hide Purchase button. The item will fade. The item below it, if there is one, will replace it in the list.
Use these steps on OS X Lion:
    Open the Mac App Store.
Choose Store > Sign In, then enter your Apple ID and password.
    Click Purchases.
Locate the item that you want to hide.
Click the X to the right of that item. The item will fade. The item below it, if there is one, will replace it in the list.
I hope this information helps ....
