I got my iphone and stupidly backed it up from my compute. I know have my ex''s icloud account and I cant remove it. We are no longer in contact so I just want my icloud on there is there a way to delete it without the password? or add my account to it ?

No, you will either need to enter the information that it is requesting (aka his password) or contact Apple. Be prepared to provide a proof of purchase (like a receipt even if its a copy from online or you have to call and get it) if you need to call them. Contact Apple for support and service

You can't actually delete an account but you can log out and create a new one. You'd do that from the iCloud system preference panel.

The questions are...
By deleting the icloud account off his iphone, will it affect my iphone in any way (ie will I lose anything from my device)?

If your off the services "one by one" on his device (Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Accounts), you will be asked if you want to keep the contacts on his device. He will not lose camera roll photos, but he will lose the access to your Photo Stream.
If you delete the account on his device (Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Accounts > Delete Account) you will not lose anything on your device.

II'm in the same situation. Purchased a refurbished IPhone 5. I had to do a factory reset and when I reset it again, itunes tells me that the phone is linked to someone else. Called the company I bought the phone from and they say iTunes can do a master reset to link my iTunes account to the phone. Have any of you heard of this being possible?

I have just bought an iPad that was advertised as new however when I went to set this up, the previous owner had already set up an iCloud account. How would I delete this? everytime i try to delete account it asks for a password for 'find my iphone to be turned off' which i obviously don't have.

Not sure if I've got the right part of the forum, so sorry if I'm in the wrong part.
Basically wondering if someone could give me a step by step guide on how to delete all my music off my phone at the one time? Beyond frustrated with iTunes and the iOS 7 update and as petty as it seems, it's making me start thinking of going elsewhere after my contract is up.
Also, is it just me or can you not click and drag on a single song to take it from iTunes to your phone?

If you synced it with iTunes, just un-sync the music and that will remove it.

I cannot manage ICloud so I would like to delete it. The appleid that shows up in the icloud portion of settings is an old email from two years ago and the system does not like any password I can dream up that might ever have been the right one. The inflexibility of IOS at this point prohibits my trying to get the password from Apple. If anyone has a real solution I would like to hear it as I have tried all the ones that start with "Why don't you try ...?"

Inasmuch as you instructions were probably right on target they were in fact somewhat mystifing so I followed the rest of your advice and checked in to the Genius Bar at the local Apple Store. There I found an able technical person who dived into the problem until he realized he also could not solve it because I had forgoten the password to the iCloud account.
Then I called the number he gave me for Apple support and was put in touch with another able expert who walked me down a pathway towards success until that also failed. He then turned me over to "Senior Technical Advisor" who took over the project and proceeded to engineer a solution. He had me hook up my IPAD to my MacMini running SnowLeopard and bring up the connection in iTunes. From there I followed his instructions with unwaivering rectitude until the final solution was achieved. Immediately afterwards he must have waived his "Men in Black" forget wand over the phone at me and caused me to forget some of the steps we went through so I cannot reproduce them here. However, such geniuses exist and they reside at the Apple Support Center.
Thank you again for your advice and guidance. All is well in Apple Land.

Go to Settings>iCloud. Delete Account is at the bottom.
(It's also at the bottom in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>your iCloud account.)

You can't. You'll have to contact the previous owner to have them do it or give you their credentials. If you cannot contact them or they are unwilling to provide you with that info, then you are out of luck.

Well you can try this, but I'm not sure it's going to work if this is an entirely new ID.
Go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.
