You have to search with some patience and you will find all the informations on the Apple support pages and here in this forum.
You find i Cloud in SAFARI at www.icloud.com and set as you like.
Usually iCloud sincs all the devices which have the same AppleID.
If you wish to use devices for different persons you need to give them different AplleID and on the MAC create different User Accounts. Each will be fully separate.
Or you can go to settings (settings are to be found under the apple icon on top left of the screen) and from there open Sistem Preferences and iCloud.

Hello, my iPhone has been water damaged and will not turn on. I'm looking to sell it to a phone recycling company, but they all need iCloud to be removed before they will accept it. Does anyone know how I go about deleting icloud when I can't turn it on? Did you read the post? It said nothing about Activation Lock. He/She wanted the iCloud account removed from the iPhone
but they all need iCloud to be removed before they will accept it. Does anyone know how I go about deleting icloud when I can't turn it on?

You can't delete either the account or the email address. If you are getting messages to it you don't want to see, go to http://icloud.com and to the Mail page: click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Rules'. Then set up a Rule to move all messages to your address to the Trash.

You have to provide the ID and password that were used to originally activate the device. There is no way around this. You've got a problem with no easy solution. One of the security features of iOS 7.0 is that you can't delete the iCloud account or turn off Find My Phone if you don't know the original Apple ID/Password that was used to set things up. Nor can you re-activate the phone if you don't know this info. Basically renders the phone useless to anyone that doesn't know this info.
You're gonna have to call AppleCare or go to an Apple store & see if they can fix this for you.

II'm in the same situation. Purchased a refurbished IPhone 5. I had to do a factory reset and when I reset it again, itunes tells me that the phone is linked to someone else. Called the company I bought the phone from and they say iTunes can do a master reset to link my iTunes account to the phone. Have any of you heard of this being possible?

If the ID is your the iPad is signed into is your old ID, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPad on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

If you loaned your apple id to someone and later need to cut an umbilical cord, the best way is to change your password. Your apple id stays with you and other person is out. If that is your friend, do not forget to gently inform, that you needed to do that cause of the tech problems and you recommend to proceed with their own to stop those problems.
