How to delete image in Mail

I just noticed that there's a photo from Photo Booth in the top right hand corner of all the new messages I've been sending from Mail. It's likely been there for quite a while and I must have just gotten used to it didn't notice until now that it's apparently going out with all my messages! I never deliberately put it there, so I don't know how it got there. It did not show up in a message I copied to my aol mail account, but I suspect it is being received by others. Nothing embarrassing about it, thank goodness! - but how do I get rid of it??

Open the Accounts panel of System Preferences and you should see that photo in your account. You should also see if in your entry in Address Book. No, I don't know how to get rid of it, but you can use the Accounts panel to replace it with something else. Point to the picture, then click on the triangle that will appear, then click on "Edit Picture". If your Mac has a built-in camera, you could take a picture of yourself. If you didn't want a picture at all you could also take a picture of a blank sheet of paper.

Your del is Local Variable, it can't be accessed out of the if statement. you need to declare it as global variable like below. And if you want to collect the string, you could use the List to collect, not a string. the string will be split to chars
one by one.

I have an iPhone 5 and I use the mail application quite a lot, and I also like to sort my mail into folders after I have read it. I know how to create a new folder, but I don't know how to delete an old folder (I've been using the same email account for a few years now and a lot of my folders are organised into friends from my old school who I don't keep in touch with anymore). If I tap on an older folder and click delete, it just states there and doesn't delete. Please let me know if you know how to delete a folder.

In the Mail app, start at the screen with Mailboxes at the top.
Scroll down to Accounts and tap Yahoo.
Tap Edit at the upper right.
Tap the folder you want to delete, then Delete Mailbox.
Confirm that's what you really want to do (it will erase all the messages within it) then Delete Mailbox.
Tap Done at the upper right.

I've got on e-mail message in one of my accounts that's unformatted, ostensibly from the Boston Globe. When the message is brought up to read, the Mail program crashes. I can read and send other messages, but when I try to delete this message, the program crashes. Anyone else have this experience? I'm thinking maybe the easiest thing to do is delete this e-mail account and then re-add it. How do I do that?

You can delete an account by selecting the account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and it should have a Delete Account button on it - you can then add it back via Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account
Have you tried logging into the account via Safari and seeing if you can delete the email that way ?

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on your exact situation or configuration. If you simply need to change the information in Messages, you should be able to do so in the Message Settings outlined in these articles:

It would be great if Apple included a select all option in the mail app but I imagine this would result in lots of people deleting all their email when they thought they were in their spam folder and were actually in their inbox so to protect us from our selves, Apple didn't offer this option. I would love it myself, but as the other poster says, you need to do it on your computer in your web browser.

My husband, Edward, passed away several months ago. I'm just now getting around to figuring out what he left "in the cloud". I discovered yesterday that his Verizon.net e-mail account contains close to 30,000 e-mails. I want to delete all of them, but Verizon segregates the e-mails into pages of 30 each, so when you click the page checkbox, then click Delete, it only deletes the 30 on that page. That means I would have to repeat this 1,000 times, which I'm not about to do. I can find no way to delete ALL e-mails. Is there a way to do that?

30 messages displayed is the default, but you can change that. On your email page, under "settings" is an option to change the number of messages per page. One option is "no limit."

Then, to set-up Mail clean, delete

     (all previous preferences and mail will be gone)
Open Mail
You will be prompted to set up Mail.
To re-install the Mail App, you need to re-install Mavericks (hold ⌘R on boot)

If the email provider is Google, try going to the gmail web portal, (log on from a computer or your iPad using safari), and manually delete the contents of your junk and trash.
I did this today, and the reappearing junk has not (as of yet) reappeared. Knocking on wood.
