  • How can delete his backup safety and totally?

My friends and I share a same time capsule ( 4th gen, 2TB), so if one day he leaves, how can delete his backup safety and totally?

Thank you for your nice recommandation of this aritle.
The reason I ask this question is becasue someome has a trouble when they want to delete the buckup directly to trash. They just can not clear the trash bin which make their Time Capsule capability still occupied by the trash file.
And the aritle says we can delete the backup by Finder directly. Just confused.

how to delete any backups that i have ever created ?

    On your computer:
In iTunes go to Edit/Preferences/Devices and you'll see a list of all backups on your computer. Click on the ones you would like to delete.
    On your phone:
In case you are backing up to iCloud, go to Settings/iCloud/Storage and Backup/Manage Storage/Backups/ tap on the device and scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit "delete backup"

  • Delete ipod backup

Hi, I get the error message "iTunes could not back up the iPod because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPod. Delete the backup for this iPod, then try again." How do I delete the backup? Thanks.

The iPod backup file(s) are here:
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP,  Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.

Open iTunes. On the left you will see a Ringtones category. Open it. Drag the .mr4 file there. It will tell you the length of it, etc. You can then sync it into your iPhone.

  • How to Delete old Backups on a Apple Time Capsule

That's one of the reasons it's not a good idea to mix Time Machine backups and other data on the TC's internal HD.  See #C3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule for some possible workarounds.

  • Backup 3.1.2 - How to delete old backups

I didn't know where to post this question about using BackUp 3, so please excuse me if this is the wrong forum. I am not tech savvy, particularly about hardware or system issues.
I have been backing up to an external drive, a Seagate, purchased in 2005, but don't have the model information. Do not use iDisk for backup.
Today I was unable to backup because only 1.68GB remained on the Seagate drive. The most recent, successful back up was a couple of weeks ago.
    My questions:
    (1) Is there a way to safely delete older, incremental backups to increase space on the external drive?
The Help files for Back Up pretty much provide specific instructions for iDIsk. They also mention forcing a Full BackUp before deleting earlier backups, but there's insufficient space to do so.
    (2) Can I just drag these older backups to the trash in Finder?
Hopefully someone can help me, as I would like to backup the latest iPhone update 3.0.1.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Ah, should've figured!
I think since I don't have that or .me/.mac, then the Chat available here for Backup might be a better idea...
    http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/
Down at the bottom click on Backup & Chat, then on Backup...
Though one help file I found says...
You can also delete backups created using Backup 3 by dragging them to the Trash in the Finder.

  • How to delete the Backups?

I want to delete a Backups. It's about 200Gb im my Macbook.

Backup from what application? Time Machine? If you're seeing that information in the About This Mac - Storage screen, you can safely ignore it. Backups are deleted when space is needed for other files. Time Machine keeps local backups of files on portables, since manhy people don't have a backup drive permanently connected to the laptop.
If you really want to turn off local backups, go into the Terminal and type
    sudo tmutil disablelocal
and enter your password when prompted.

  • How to delete iPod Hard Drive files? Help appreciated.

Since I have under a thousand songs, I enabled my Nano as a hard drive on my PC, and put the library on iPod. I went over to my new iMac Core Duo, and placed the songs into the empty iTunes there. I deleted the iTunes Music Folder on my iPods Hard Drive, and disenabled it for disk use. However, when I try to update my iPod on my iMac, it still shows that the iPod is filled up with the iTunes Music Folder on the hard drive because it won't let me update. I checked the folder once again and it shows nothing on the iPod Hard Drive.
My question is how do I delete that iTunes Music Folder, that I used to transfer songs to the iMac from my PC, off of my Nano's hard drive?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Martin,
If all the music is on your iMac, then why don't you restore your iPod...
    Restore the iPod
Then reload everything from iTunes and the capacity and use space should be accurate.

  • How to delete audio backups? OSX 10.9.4

    Hi.
    I'm using OSX 10.9.4.
My 500 GB hard drive is getting full, so I moved my entire ITunes music library (160 GB) to an external hard drive, and then moved the iTunes Media folder to the trash, and deleted it on my Mac. The moved files are playing fine from the external drive.
    Surprise!
No disc space was freed up at all, because iTunes (I guess) cleverly backed everything up automatically.
I've tried to find these backup files in order to delete them -- to no avail.
How do I get rid of 160 GB of backups??
    Thank you!

Do you happen to use Apple's Time Machine to perform your machine's backups?  Do you occasionally (or perhaps often) perform these backups while using only battery power?
If so, I recommend plugging your Mac in to the wall and performing a Time Machine backup.  At the end of that backup, a cleanup process will occur.  You will be able to see it if you watch the Time Machine process under System Preferences.
