How to delete iTunes account on iPhone and start all over?

Family friend sold an iPhone to us. Says that he thinks that there isnt a way to delete his iTunes account, the one used to download apps and what not, and he doesnt remember his password. Is there a way to delete EVERYTHING and start from scratch? Help please.

You restore the device as new, however if you do not have the Apple ID and password that was used to originally activate the phone, you will not be able to activate it again. The previous owner needs to follow the steps in this support document before you can use the phone. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5661  That will clear all of his information from the device.

I would like to delete my icoud back ups completely and start all over like it's a new phone. Can it be done and how??   Help I'm desperate!!  Any help will be appreciated!

You can delete your old backups by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup.
But what do you mean by "start all over again like it's a new phone"?  Do you mean you want to delete all the data in your iCloud account or delete everything on your phone and restore it as a new iPhone?

Your iPHone is designed by intention to shut off when there is a reason for the softwarer to believe that danger is immenent to the hardware. This can occurr if the software is running applications that have been corrupted due to all types of different scenarios. My best advice to you would be to restore your device back to default manufactures settings and do NOT restore the current backup of the IOS program currently running.
If this corrects the problem with your device intermittently restarting you will then know you have had applications there were corrupted on your device. Once you are convinced there are no issues with the hardware of your device you then are free to begin downloading software apps that were earlier on the device.
    Good luck.

Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Your email account name>Delete Account. A window will popu after you select your email account in the settings and there is a large red Delete Button at the bottom of the window.
Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Add account. Tap on Add account and start entering your email account details again. If your email account doesn't fit one the per installed accounts in there, tap on Other - and add your account in there.
I would restart the iPad after you delete the email account, just to be starting "fresh" again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button

Have you tried a Reset (No Data will be Lost)
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • Updated to Mavericks and the new version of iPhoto starts to install but just gets to 10.2MB and starts all over and then comes up with an error message

I installed Mavericks to my computer and iPhoto isn’t working it has a grey no working symbol over it.  So I tried to download the new version of iPhoto but it starts to download and just gets to 10.2MB and starts all over after about 3 mins of doing this it comes up with an error message saying  an error had occurred.  I have tried downloading several times restarting the computer and downloading and still get the same thing over and over again.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for responding....but isn't your potential solution designed for Windows users? I have a Mac.
If it does apply to Mac, I am also hoping for something simpler as this could take weeks to isolate the problem and it would be more efficient to use another browser for mail
Also, I should have added, this problem occurs only occasionally and seemingly only when I am taking some time to compose a message

Will the iPad power up by holding down on the power button until the Apple logo appears on the screen? If it does, try restoring using recovery mode.

  • (Mountain Lion) suddenly the screen turns black, and I have to use the switch to turn it on. And, the screen turns to zoom, and the only way to turn to normal is to close the window and start all over again?

(Mountain Lion) suddenly the screen turns black, and I have to use the on/off switch to turn it on. And, the screen turns to zoom, and the only way to return to normal is to close the window and start all over again?

Does the screen go black while you are using the machine? ...or after it has sat idle for a bit?
If it happens while you're using the machine, check to see if a hot corner has been set for sleep. You can do that here: System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver and click the button labelled "Hot Corners..." in the lower right.
If it happens after a bit of idle time, that's normal sleep behavior. The delay can be adjusyed here: System Preferences > Energy Saver.
In either case, pressing any key on the keyboard should bring it out of sleep.
    Re zooming -
If this happens while in Safari, and you are using an Apple Magic Mouse, a default setting applicable to it is that a soft double-tap on the mouse will zoom the Safari window. A second double-tap will bring it back.
If it is the entire screen that is zooming, Control plus scroll gesture on the mouse will zoom the whole screen. Repeat with the opposite scroll gesture to bring it back.

  • I got my phone fixed from a third party and now my phone won't even come on and my screen turns blue and starts all over again. Is there a way I can get it fixed

BBroken screen got fixed from a third party and now the apple sign shows for about 25 seconds and then it turns blue and starts all the way over

The problems go deeper than the screen...the person who did the repairs has not made all of the connections correctly.  The iPhone needs to be opened again, and then reconnect the new screen and be sure all other connections are still in place where they should be.

    Hi Group,
I'm a newbie so be gentle.  I have my husband's old Macbook Air OS X 10.9 with 4 GB memory. He opened an itunes account on this computer and has the same account on his new computer. I am trying to open my own itunes account but I can't because my mac and my phone have been commandeered by his account. I can't download any tunes or apps unless I get rid of his old account and open my own. Any advice?

  • Partners iphone information was mistakenly transferred thru itunes to my iphone. and now all my data (contacts, photos)have all dissapeared.can the information be retrieved

partners iphone information was mistakenly transferred thru itunes to my iphone.now all my data is gone.can it be retrieved?

    See the following redownloading stuff:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you are in the USA and have the latest iTunes, you can redownload music via the iCloud beta.
When you do an update, the first step is making a backup.  However, the backup does not include the apps themselves or music or some other things.  Those get synced back to the iPod from your iTunes library at the end of the update.  If those items are not in your library they can't be synced to your iPod.
You should be able to get the contacts and similar stuff back since those are in backup if you have a backup made at the first stage of the update or earlier.  Go to Preferences in iTunes, and go to the Devices tab and see the date of the backup(s). If the backup contains the data you want, restore the iPodfrom backup.

How do I change an Apple ID payment method to 'None'? I've tried everything and I found the only solution is to apply all over again with another e-mail address. Any other options?

Buy an iTunes Music Card and redeem it to your account - the "none" option should be available then.

  • Can't install Mavericks on new HD. It restarts and starts all over again.

    Good morning,
I have recently replaced my iMac's HD and have been trying to install the OS. For I lost the Snow Leopard install DVD that came with my Mac, I decided to plug in the old HD in through a USB dock to use the recovery partition (the only one that still works). It boots into it normally, the Disk Utility works like a charm, but when I attempt to install the OS, it loads a little, but then restarts without the bar being complete, and when it comes back up, it starts from the beginning, asking me for a default language. I do it all again, and it restarts too early indefinitely.
I've tried resetting it through the power cable, resetting the PRAM, but neither seem to work. I've also checked whether the partition I'm installing the OS to was already bootable, but it isn't. I'm not sure what it's wrong. Any input is appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Amanda

It is always best to have the original system discs that came with any Mac computer. At some point you will need those discs. In this case even if you are successful in reinstalling Mavericks you won't have the originally included iLife Apps without having to buy them from the Mac App store and not all of them are still offered.
I suggest you contact Apple by phone and ask to speak to someone specifically to order a Replacement Set of Original System discs. You will need the serial # of that iMac and there is a small charge for them. But in the end you NEED Those Discs.
As noted they may not help in your present situation.
I must ask why did you replace the drive? Did you need more space or was the drive starting to fail?
Since it looks like there is a cable going from the drive to the logic board.
    Photo from iFixit.com
If your original drive stopped working when installed inside the iMac but you can boot from it when in your SATA to USB Dock then it might be that the cable is bad and that is why the original drive stopped working and you are having problems installing OS X on the new drive.

Ugh, just to think I refused a Seagate offer because I thought I'd better use the same HD make the Mac originally had..
It's a mid-2010 21.5" EMC 2389. It did come with the drivers and OS X Snow Leopard install CD, that is now lost because I lent someone. Should I try to get a replacement for that? Are there more chances of it working without me having to tear it all apart again?
