How to delete line-WILL YOU HELP IMPROVE MOZILLA FIREFOX BY SENDING INFORMATION ABOUT ETC.

The following line appears every time I open up a Firefox website and I want to get rid of it:
"Will you help improve Mozilla Firefox by sending information about performance, hardware, usage and customization to Monzilla"
When I answer YES I WANT TO HELP or NO, the line still keeps appearing when i open up another web page.
Also, how do I stop the message "CHECKING COMPATABILITY OF ADD-ONS" when I open up a web page.
Hoping you can assist-Thanking you
Dick Hunt

First you need to update to Firefox 17.0.1, as the version you are running is out of date.
Then, follow cor-el's instructions above, and if that doesn't resolve the issue, please read [[How to fix preferences that won't save]]

  • I need to disable from my home screen:"Will you help imporve Mozilla Firefox by sending info etc.

At the top of my home page. Shows Will you help imporve Mozilla Firefox by sending information about performance, hardware, etc. Then buttons of Yes, I want to help or No. How can I disable this line?
I cannot have this line show on the screen at all. I do not want any click action to disable it, I want to remove it completely from showing up ever...

If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General: System Defaults: "Submit performance data"
You can check theses prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.

  • Every time my browser refreshes I get the pop-up To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier. Resend Cancel" How do I get rid it?

It has never done this before. I play a game that constantly refreshes the page & have never had problems before until yesterday. I have looked in tools and there's nothing in the option section that will let me stop it. Is there somewhere else to look?

In past discussions about this message, I have never seen an easy solution. Arguably it should be made a user preference: those who prefer to be warned about the risk that they will double-submit a transaction or instruction on a poorly designed site can have their warning, and those who prefer to take their chances can take their chances. Not sure whether that is on anyone's "to do" list.
Separate issue: I wasn't aware of any difference between 3.6.12 and 3.6.13, but both are riddled with security vulnerabilities so it's hard to recommend using either of them at this point.

I have a HP Laserjet M1120 but I don´t know how to scan. Can you help me?

Your Model apparently needs to use Apple's "Print & Scan" which is found in Applications>System Preferences>"Print & Scan".  There you will follow the following instructions from the HP Support site to Scan, for instance:
Place the item that you want to scan on the scanner glass, or load it into the automatic document feeder (ADF) if your printer has one.
Click the Apple menu (# ), and then click System Preferences .
    Click Print & Scan (# ).
Click your printer in the left pane.
Click Scan , and then click Open Scanner .
Click Show Details . The details of the scan display, including options to change scan settings.Figure 4: Example of the Show Details scanning screen#
Change any scan settings as necessary, and then click Scan .NOTE: Make sure to select either the Flatbed mode or the Document Feedermode, depending on your printer and how you plan to scan.
    Hope this helps

    how to help this problem..?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
