Hi guys i had some music files in my memory card but i removed them it is like a copy of them remained n wen try to remove them they can't go...n they can't b played either! Pliz help

Solved! Music was in Itunes folder but not in Media folder within that. It doesn't seem like a very user friendly system so far!

The file is just left where it was when it was connected to the library. Typically:
<User>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/<Artist>/<Album>/## <Name>.<Ext>
If you want to add it back just drag it into iTunes. If you want to cull the files you kept previously add the entire iTunes Media folder back into iTunes (or use one of Doug's scripts that has the same effect), then delete (and don't keep) the recent additions.
Note that warning/prompt is only issued when the files you are removing are located inside the designated iTunes Media folder.

Not sure what you are trying to achieve.. You can copy the files to anywhere you like.. but the TC is a backup target for Time Machine.. it is not a media server.. it is totally useless copying your files to the TC as they will not be backed up from there.. TC has no built in backup and TM cannot backup network drives.

I dont see the need to clog up disc space with all the music I own on CD's so once I have them loaded onto my ipod I would like to erase them from my pc. If I then sync my ipod will it automatically delete everything that is no longer on my pc.

If you manually manage your music, you can do what you want. Check the "Manually manage music" box on the summary page in iTunes when the iPod is connected. Keep in mind that , should you ever need to restore your iPod, you may find that you'll need to re-rip all of your CDs. You may want to consider buying an external hard drive (I just picked up a terabyte drive for less than $150) and move your iTunes library there.

Im having a problem deleting a file I asked to open a music file, with itunes.
I was on a site called mp3skulls trying to listen and possibly download a file. I accidently requested it to be opened with itunes and as it did open with itunes and played. I can't simply delete it. It's not downloaded into my mac nor is it downloaded into itunes. It seems like it is being streamed from the site onto my itunes. I tried to find a delete option but there isn't one and i tried just dragging it to my trash can but it is still there playing.
there is a symbol right in front of the name that looks like this ((.)) (there's a dot in the middle) if that helps anything.
I just need to know how to delete this file cause i do not want to keep it.

If it is a system file and even if the file is corrupted, it cannot be deleted.
Try reinstalling phone software using Nokia suite if the phone supports Nokia suite and an USB port.

How to delete a file from my hard drive through iTunes?

I want to delete a file through my iTunes. Whenever I do, it just gives me a dialog window telling me that it will delete the file from the library and my iPod. It does NOT delete it from my hard drive. I do NOT want to let iTunes manage my music.
How can I delete files? It seems crazy that I wouldn't be able to.

hmm. for some strange reason after doing that it just simply warns me that in deleting the song(s) it will ruin my playlists/mess up songs currently on my ipod.
im just trying to delete all the songs that are under a minute from various albums because they take a lot of room, yet are pretty useless. but they are strung out over multiple files and i simply would love to be able to delete them all from the library where they are arranged. do you know of any other techniques to fix it?

How to delete 1 file from CD?

If I only want to delete one file from a cd that contains many files, how do I do this? I don't want to erase the whole cd!

1. find 700 MB of free space somewhere, you have it i'm sure. if not back-up & delete old stuff...
2. copy the whole CD to there
3. delete that one file
4. burn a new CD (this is the one step i'm not sure you're able to do locally - hence your question. or?)
5. allow burn to verify. then test it as mounted.
6. if o.k., use sturdy scissors and cut the previous CD in half. or use s'th sharp and dig into the data side...
i'm partial to the cutting in half approach. apparently putting a CD into a microwave destroys it too, and i hear the process results in interesting visual effects, but if you go that route i suggest you do this in someone else's microwave and from a safe distance...

all the methods in the processRequest() are called during loading of the page.
all the methods in the processFormRequest() are called during any action events on the page.
So Use the method in processFormRequest() : write a method in
that on which action you want to delete the file.

How to transfer music files from sonic stage to a hard drive

Hi all
I need your help, I am pulling my hair out here for the past 3 weeks. I purchased a hard drive from Apple and I want to transfer all my music files from Sonic stage which in on my old Fitjitsu laptop.
I then want to transfer the music from the hard drive to iTunes to my new mac airbook
Any help is appreciated at this present time I am hating Apple product big time. Maybe it will restore once I am guided at present Apple customer services who sold me the product initially couldn't help me.

I am guessing this Fitjutsu laptop is running Windows which uses NTFS format drives. If you bought a hard drive from Apple it is probably formatted for Mac use. Anyway, I don't know why you are blaming Apple. Hard drives come in one of the other format and you need one that works with both. Sales people at many kinds of stores rarely know much about things they sell outside of immediate application. They are trained in the things they sell but are not technically minded. If you had bought the drive anywhere else you would be like the 2 questions I answered yesterday where people got the music onto the NTFS drive but didn't know why it wouldn't work with the Mac.
You haven't told us much about the Fitjutsu laptop. You may be able to use Migration Assistant to transfer the entire contents to the Mac. This will set up a separate user account with the content.

If you need/want to use a drive to get the music off the other computer you will need a drive with either NTFS format or FAT32 (MS-DOS) format. With NTFS format the Mac can read but not write to the drive. You can use it for transferring the files but it will have to be re-formatted back to Mac format for use with the Mac. Alternatively you can reformat your Mac drive to FAT32 (MS-DOS) format using Disk Utility. Macs can both read and write to this format but is isn't really a a Mac format (Macs can't repair a FAT drive) so eventually you may wish to reformat it too back to Mac format. Formatting a drive erases all content so once you get the content onto your Mac you will have to store it there temporarily when you format the drive back to Mac format.
I know this is sounding complicated but Apple's answer to transferring PC content is Migration Assistant. If you don't want to do that then yes, you are entering the realm where there is fiddly hands-on things to do.
If this is a brand new Mac you may still be in the 90 day period where you can get free help at an Apple Store from the "Genius" bar. I'm guessing, however, this won't extend to their formatting and reformatting a drive and transferring select content.

Go to file manager in office, mark all, options move, move to F memory card. Or connect to PC in mass storage mode and open both drives and drag and drop !
