How to delete "no recipent no sender" messages

Help! Recently, I began to get messages in my Inbox with no content marked "no recipient, no sender" with no way to delete or move them. Sometimes going back to my mailboxes and the returning to the Inbox would get rid of them but not always. Now, I have the same type of message in my Sent mailbox...around twenty of them!  Does anyone know what the glitch is that is creating these weird messages and, more importantly, how to delete them?
Thanks in advance!

There is some help on this page http://appletoolbox.com/2010/08/mysterious-no-subject-no-sender-mail-messages/ , but as I havn't had the problem I can't say for sure whether any of them work

  • HT204380 How much does it cost to send messages?

I am new to iPad and apple products and I was wondering how much it cost to send messages to others? I heard and was told that if they have an iPod/ iPad it didn't cost anything....just want to check it out before I start using it if I have to find a cell provider? Thanks

First of all, on an iPad using the messages app, you can ONLY send messages to other iOS (iPad, iPod, iPhone) users whare are also regisered to use it. Finding a cellular provider isn't an option. iPads cannot do SMS messaging (although there are some third Party apps that facilitate this in the app store, if you really need it).
Using Messages doesn't cost anything, but you could incur data charges based on how your internet access is set up.

  • How to Delete duplicate contacts in the messaging app?

I set up a new email account, and was trying to send my contacts to the new account. In doing so I did not get the contacts to sync with the new account, but they did duplicate in my contacts app and my messaging contacts app. I can not find a means to delete the duplicate contacts in the messaging app. I stopped by Verizon at Best Buy, and they told me that there is no way to delete the contacts once they are in the messaging app. I can't believe that.
There must be a way to remove the contacts from the messaging app. Please help.

    Hi Tidbits,
I ended up going to Best Buy, where I got my LG G3 Verizon phone. The Tech tried everything to correct the duplication, but could not find how to do it. He deleted everything, and went back to factory settings. Darn if the duplicates didn't come back.
He went to my Verizon account, and went to the Verizon Cloud. Clicked on Contacts, and there were all the duplicate contacts. He deleted the duplications, leaving the original for each contact. BINGO the problem was solved.
I am using the Standard Messaging instead of Verizon messaging Plus. The Tech said that if I had been using Using Verizon Messaging Plus this may not of happened. I just down want the added cost of Messaging Plus.
    Thanks for the response.

  • How can I make mail retry sending messages in the Outbox?

    Howdy all,
As the title says how can a force Mail to try to resend the messages in the outbox? I use my MacBook Pro in a number of different environments and when I am on one flakey access point in particular or when I have forgotten to open Safari to reauthorize recently on another network Mail will fail to contact the SMTP server. When this happens my message gets stuck in the outbox to be sent later. My problem is that I do not know how to get it out of there effectively.
Once I have fixed the transitive error in the network (or or the problem fixes itself) how do I get the messages out of the inbox? At this point I can send more messages with no problem and they will happily go out but those in the queue just sit there.
Now, I have tried a number of things like quitting and restarting Mail, bringing the various network interfaces back up and down, and other things to try to trick Mail into sending the queued messages but that has been haphazard at best. I can't help thinking that there is something obvious I am missing.
    Thanks for any help!

Highlight the message in the inbox, double-click on it, and click on the "send" icon
You may even consider BCCing yourself to see whether the message actually goes or not, and you just have an artifact copy stuck in your outbox that you could then just delete.
Otherwise, copy&paste the stuck message body into a new message, and delete the stuck one out of the outbox before attempting to send the new one

  • How to delete a phone number from messages

When I try to send a message to a certain person (for example Joseph), I start typing the name into the 'To' box, the list starts to populate, and there is a number in the list that should not be there. It says Joseph other and a telephone number. It does not appear in my contacts. It does not appear in other messaging apps, so presumably it is from some history. I can find it nowhere else. How can I delete it. I have no previous messages to that number, or any other number, because I delete all old messages.

The best way is to not share Apple IDs but also make sure under Settings & Messages on both devices that only one phone number is checked.

  • How to delete a group from group messaging

How can I stop sending group messages to a group of contacts that I only used once?  Whenever I try to send a message to the first person on the original message, it goes out to everyone.  I just wanted it to be a one time group message. I did not intentionally create this group.  I don't want to turn off group messaging in settings. I do want to set up different groups for future messages.  If I delete this contact from all my devices and re enter him will I still have the same problem?  Thanks. Frustrated

Delete the group by hitting the exclamation point to the right then Delete.

  • How to delete Control Recipe

    Hi ,
Can Control Recipe can be deleted eventhough Incomplete.
In our scenario sometimes control recipe is auto generate at the time of process order release. So some times due to circumstances order can not proceed further in this case that generated control recipe creates problem to make order TECO or delete.

    Dhaval,
The standard practice is to manually trigger a Process message to the order, to have the status CRFI - Control recipe finished.
Transaction CO57, to trigger manually a process message with message Category PI_CRST for the process order and Control reciepe combination.
Use Transaction CO54 to send the Message to the process order.

  • How to delete the log of sender Addresses in Mail?

When I am sending an Email with iPhone 4, and I start tipping the address I want to send, it starts to list used addresses in order to autofill. But some of those I want to delete. How can I do that? Even, if I had to erase all, would be fine but HOW? Thank you for your answer.

The only way to purge this data from your phone is to restore your phone as a new device in iTunes. Otherwise, you either live with it or over time the data will be overwritten as you use your phone.

try resetting device with the following codes
With all these operations I recommend you TAKE OUT MEMORY CARD and DO A BACK UP OF YOUR STUFF!!!
NOTE: In front of the hash key ( #) there is also a STAR key that people often miss and state that the code does not work.
1.. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data) Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345.
2.*#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
    3. hard reset - hold the following buttons * (star key), 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, /GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) For Nokia N97 (unofficial version but works) is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE while holding the power button. Again do not let go until you see the handshake screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Messages on my MacBook Air won't send messages over iMessage. Anyone know how to fix this?

In preferences, under accounts, it claims that my Apple iD is hooked up to messages, including my phone number and email address...yet it isn't sending messages they always fail. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It would be a great help.

Read this whole message before doing anything.
    Back up all data.
    Quit Messages if it’s running.
    Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Move the following items from the Library folder to the Trash (either may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.Messages
    Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in. Try Messages again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
    Step 2
If you still have problems, quit Messages again. Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
    Messages
Note: you are not moving the Messages application. You’re moving a folder named “Messages.”
Test. If Messages now works, delete the Messages folder on the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Messages again. Put back the folder you moved, overwriting the newer one that may have been created in its place, and continue.
    Step 3
In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with "com.apple.iChat". Move them all to the Desktop. There may also be a file with the name "com.apple.imagent.plist". Move that to the Trash.
Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
Log out and log back in. Test again. This time Messages should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. You may be able to put back some of the files you moved to the Desktop in this step. Relaunch and test after each one. Eventually you should find one or more that causes Messages to malfunction. Delete those files and recreate whatever settings they contained.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Messages again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were. You don’t need to replace the items you moved to the Trash. Stop here and post again.
If you later decide that you don’t like the results of steps 2 and 3, you can undo them completely by quitting Messages and restoring the items you deleted in those steps from your backup.

  • I have an iMac, and have a Verizon DSL account. Recently, my Mac Mail keeps requesting the passwords on my account every few minutes, and will not allow me to send messages using Mac Mail. I cannot edit the outgoing server; how can I send emails?

I have an iMac, and have a Verizon DSL account (3 email addresses). Recently, my Mac Mail keeps requesting the passwords on my accounts every few minutes, and will not allow me to send messages using Mac Mail (the message says that the outgoing server was rejected. I cannot edit the outgoing server, and the keychain will not save my passwords (the ports are valid). How can I change the outgoing server to send emails, and how can I avoid having Mail request my passwords every 2 minutes? Verizon, as usual, will not provide support to iMacs.

Is there an email saved in your drafts or outbox folder?  I suspect that Mail is continually trying to send it, and each time Google is rejecting the email message.
You can open the message and then delete it from your Outbox folder.  Then try removing all @gmail email addresses from it and seeing whether you can send to the other folks.  I suspect that will work.
With email, if an SMTP server *can* verify email addresses, sometimes it will and it will refuse to send messages.  If a message has to be relayed across servers, no verification is done, and you'll get a bounce if an email address is bad.

    Hello Todd:
I had this very same problem when trying to activate iMessage and Facetime on my iPad. When I signed into my account, I actually wasn't even presented with the option of a phone number - notwithstanding the fact that I was contacting others (and being reached by others) by my phone number on my iPhone. Having both the iPad and the iPhone on, I kept trying to turn off and on both iMessage and Facebook in Settings on both my iPad and iPhone, hoping that that they would eventually sync. But this proposed solution by others was unsuccessful for me.
Then, I found out what the problem was: When my iPhone was activated, it automatically registered my phone number for contact purposes. I was using iMessage on my iPhone for quite some time without actually being signed into my Apple ID account. When another device - such as an iPad or iPod - is being used for iMessage or Facebook, you are prompted to sign into your Apple account, using your username and password. These two devices will not register your phone number as an option for contact unless your iPhone is signed into your Apple account as well. In other words: your phone number will not be synced.
Go into your "Settings" on your iPhone and click on "Messages". Scroll down and click on "Send & Receive" (which should be followed by your phone number). On the next page, you will be able to determine whether or not your iPhone is using the Apple ID for messaging purposes. (Note: This information applies for Facetime as well.) If it is using your Apple ID for messaging, than at the top, you will see "Apple ID: <your particular e-mail account>" in Blue text. However, if you are not using your Apple ID for messaging, than you will see the words: "Use your Apple ID for message". Even though below this you will see your phone number checked as the contact source, you will want to click the tab that says, "Use your Apple ID for message". Sign into your account (just as you must sign in for iMessage on your other devices), and just choose your phone number as the "Send & Receive" contact. (The option of the e-mail will be there too, but you don't have to check it. And later on, you can delete it as an option.)
Now that all of your devices are signed in using your Apple ID, the other devices should register your phone number as a choice. It may take a little while, however. What I did was sign out of iMessage on my iPad, and then sign in again. If the option didn't appear, I just went back and signed in again, and kept doing this until the option for the phone number appeared.
Again, this will work for Facetime as well. The solution is to sync your iPhone account with the other devices by using your Apple ID for messaging (and Facetime) purposes.
I hope that this works for you, Todd!   ~ Brian
