How To Delete Number of E-mails Next to "Mail" Icon

How do I delete the "3534" number that is next to the "Mail" icon and shown in my "Inbox"?
I had previously deleted all of these e-mails including "Trash" and they no longer show up anywhere except for the number "3534".   At the time that I deleted all of the e-mails I used the guidance given on this website to "delete all e-mails" since IOS7 did not have this function.

I had stepped away for few, so I missed your 2nd post, so this may not be a final fix... but here  goes anyway
From an archived document: Mac OS X 10.6: Increasing disk space
In Mail, choose Mailbox > Erase Deleted Items > In All Accounts, and Mailbox > Erase Junk Mail.
There should be a way to set your Trash to empty on a schedule or at Quit. Choose the Mail > [Help] menu and search for " empty trash " should find exactly how.

You use REPLACE function to selectively replace text inside a string in SQL Server. The REPLACE function is easy to use and very handy with an UPDATE statement.
    SELECT Replace(births, '00', '')
    or
    update .....
    Also you can use STUFF()
This function can be used for delete a certain length of the string and insert a new string in the deleted place.
    Select STUFF ('199900', 5, 2, '')
    --result 1900,1982,....

  • How to get rid of mail number on e-mail icon?

How do I get rid of the red mail count number from e-mail icon?

Normally the number that appears in the red circle on your Mail app refers to the number of unread emails you have. Sometimes though the Mail app gets confused and doesn't work properly. If you are seeing that big number and are sure that you have no unread emails, then I suggest quitting the Mail app like I describe and then reset your device. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

In each account, is Junk filtering enabled -- Mail Preferences/Junk Mail? Also, have you selected (account by account) to move any Junk message to the Junk Mailbox?

  • How to delete multiple messages in mail

How to select a bunch of messages in mail to delete.

I Wonder if your sitting there laughing at us as if there is some big conspiracy about selecti all and deleting all from our iPhones and iPads.
    The conspiracy.
Why can we not just not select all in the mail inbox and then delete all, if we do not want to delete every single one of them then deselect the few that we do not want to delete instead of having to select the thousands we do want delete individually.
And if you do make a mistake and delete the wrong emails by selecting all, then go to your trash and reinstate the ones you did not want to delete
I think 99% of us know how to DELETE emails individually, as you put it.
That's just sarcasm and if not then then your not fully understanding the question asked.
I would also say that probably 99% of us want to be able to select all and delete all if that's what we desire.
I would just like a honest answer of why we cannot select all delete all rather than giving me a load of rubbish about encase we delete something we didn't want to delete.

  • How to delete gmail messages in Mail for Mac

I am using Mail 7.3 on my Macbook Pro with Mavericks 10.9.5.
I use Gmail for my email.
When I DELETE a message in Gmail it goes into the Gmail Archive (and stays in the All Mail folder)- it does NOT get Deleted.
Gmail help says I need to drag each message to the Trash when using Mail as Delete will not work.
    Really?
This is a drag to do, besides there is no Trash folder.
I have a 'Bin' folder and a 'Deleted Messages' folder so I'm trying to use them.
Still for Mail and Gmail not to be compatible for Delete seems crazy.
I have tried changing the Mailbox Behaviours in Preferences but it seems to make no difference.

  • How to configure number of importing mail?

    hi guys,
I'm adding my yahoo mail account into Mac Mail recently, and I have got around 5000 mails in my yahoo account.
When I succesffuly added the yahoo account in Mac Mail, the system imports all mails to Mac (starting from very beginining)
It is too much for me and spending a lot of time and data. Actually I don't need all of them, I just want to get 50 of the latest mail from yahoo.
Is there any way I can configure the number of importing mail for my first time import?
    Could anyone help.??

    Hi,
In MN22 go to the Commuunication tab and there put the desired number of copies to be output like 2 or 3 against the field "Number of Messages" and save. This will get the desired result.

  • How do I remove the superscript number from the Mail icon on the Dock?

I have unsuccessfully  searched all folders and topics on the left side of the Mail page to find one supposed incoming email, as the Mail icon indicates with a numeral One on the Mail Icon in the dock to no avail.  How can I either find this unread email via a shortcut, or remove the superscript "1" from the Mail icon on the Dock? Thanks!

Hmm, this seems kind of too obvious, but when I look at Mail, in the MAILBOXES sidebar on the left, every mailbox and folder has an oval to the right of its name listing how many unread messages it has.  (Sadly, I have a lot of ovals with big numbers in them!)
Doesn't one of your ovals have a "1" in it?
    Hope that helps...

  • TS3276 Any ideas as to how to delete persistent emails from Mail?

I am unable to delete messages from my Mail box. I have a gmail account and have deleted these messages from "All Mail" and they still appear listed in my Mail inbox. The name is sometimes grayed out, sometimes black. There is no content in the email itself, just the name. I am able to delete other emails but there are about ten emails that remain. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Rebuild the mailboxes, and see if that clears the messages, or allows the delete to "stick".
    Mail.app > Mailbox > Rebuild
Once you've rebuilt and then deleted the messages, quit and restart Mail.app.
If there's a web access path available for the mail server you're using, try deleting the messages from that, too.

  • I see a number on the mail icon, but I can't see any mail.

Just got the new iPad. It seems to have synced to the cloud.
The mail icon has an increasing number attached to it, but I can't see any mail.
That number is the number of new messages, right?
    Thanks,
    Ty

    Hi,
Yes, I think so, but it is a new device and operator error could be the culprit.
But if I'm seeing the mail increment after I set it up, it was weird not to see emails in the cue.
Maybe it was a question of timing. It's working now.
    Thanks for your help.
    Ty

I have added a second email account and would like to place a second mail icon in my dock for this account only. When I click on the current stamp icon, mail to and from both accounts appear. Is there a way to separate them? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Place the second account in another email application like Thunderbird.

The iPad2 is communal in our house and any time someone picks it up to use they can have access to my email by touching the mail icon. Is there a way to require a password for the mail app / icon to open?
