How to delete photos without a keyword
I have 10,000+ photos from my son's football season in Events in iPhoto 09. I only want to keep the ones that I have marked with a specific keyword. This seems like it should be a simple task but I can't seem to figure out how to select photos without a keyword and then be able to delete them from my library. Can anyone help?
make a smart album Keyword is not "your special key word" and delete the photos form that album

How do I find photos without a keyword tag?
How do I find photos without a keyword tag?
And by the way a further question regarding keyword tags remains unanswered...Why is there a difference between the number next to the keyword and the actual index number in the keyword folder?I will try and explain in more detail to ensure we don't talk past each other.
I'm in "Catalog" and "All Photographs" is highlighted.
I selected to show the "Index Number" under "Library View Options".
In "Keyword List" I have main keywords such as Europe, Africa and Asia with no number to the right of it.
If I open the Europe keyword I have a list of countries each of them with a number next to them.
Next to Spain there is now showing the number 46.
I open "Spain" by clicking on the arrow to the right of the number.
Now all the photos with the Spain tag is shown but there are only 23 photo. Under Portugal there is 80 shown but only 40 photos is shown. Under Ireland the keyword only 11 is shown but once open there are 1132 photos.
There is not one keyword with the correct number next to it.
As a fairly new LR user it just appears to me that the two function don't "speak" or "correlate" with each other. -

Yes but if you have not done so, backup your iPhoto library. That way if there's a problem, you can restore from a backup.

Probably it is old news but I couldn't find it here that fast.
I have 20.000 photos, some have a keyword(s) some have not. So I searched for a selection of photographs without a keyword. But there is none.
The trick is to add a special keyword you normally not use like (only) "_" (underscore) to all photos without a keyword. But there is no way to select photos wihtout a keyword... So I came up with a two step strategy and this trick only cost 2-3 minutes with 20.000 photos:
Add the "_" keyword to all you photos.
Select all photos with a real keyword by shift clicking on all keywords tags except "_".
Remove the "_" keyword from those photos.
Now select the "_" keyword or search on the "_" keyword.
A how to, in 14 steps:
1. Hit G, goto library (in left panel) and click on "all photographs"
2. Select all photos by pressing ctrl-a
3. Wait till LR is ready displaying all used keywords in the right keywords panel
4. In right panel under keywording/keyword tags add the keyword "_"
5. Wait till LR is ready updating all your photos (20.000 photos: 1 minute)
6. Goto "Keyword tags" in the left panel
7. Select the (suppose the second) keyword just after the "_" keyword by left clicking.
8. Scroll down till the end in the keyword list
9. Now, shift click on the last keyword
10. You now selected all keywords except the "_" keyword and all are highlihted
11. Select all photo's (ctrl-a)
12. Wait till LR shows all the keywords in the Keywording/keyword tags panel on the right
check: the keyword "_" should have no asterix like "_*" if so: goto step 1!
13. Remove the "_" keyword and press enter
14. Wait till LR is ready
From now on while selecting the "_" keyword or searching on the keyword "_" LR will only show the photos without a (real) keyword.
Of course, as soon as you add keyword(s) to your foto(s) you have to delete the "_" keyword.
Speed tip: when starting keywording, select the photo you like to add real keywords, ctrl-k brings you directly to the keyword tags panel in edit mode, hit backspace (to delete the "_" keyword and start typing your keywords and hit enter or tab when done. Then immediately (of course) the photo dissapears from your "_" keyword selection photos and the next photo is selected and is waiting for you to hit ctrl-k and start again. Look mam, "no mouse used!"
Have fun!>I have 20.000 photos, some have a keyword(s) some have not. So I searched for a selection of photographs without a keyword. But there is none.
There is actually, and it is much simpler:
Using the Find Panel, choose Text: Keywords and Rule: Are Empty. -

How to delete tune without iTunes
Hi,
I have a problem, I have some old podcast which I like to keep on my harddrive. Then I got the ipod, so I want to store the podcast episodes there. But dragging direct from Finder to ipod show me it copied but didn't appear under podcast. I found out after a few trial and error that I should have added the podcast to iTunes before dragging into ipod. So...
Good : Finder -> iTunes Podcast -> iPod
Bad : Finder -> iPod
So now those files I drag direct from finder into ipod are in the ipod but I can't get rid of them, cause they don't show up in the iTunes list. It shows up in Senuti and iPodDisk, but both don't allow me to delete the song. Now I can't drag those podcast episodes in to ipod from iTunes podcast anymore. It somehow recognise that the file exist on the ipod but wouldn't list it on the podcast.
So, back to the question, How to delete tune without iTunes?? thanksDid you try using the Finder? I'm trying to accomplish similar management tasks. Finder seems far superior to itune management, for podcasts management. This might work-- First quit itunes.
Use a finder window, not spotlight, search itunes and single-click on any folder by that name. Notice which of these files is in your startup disc (in case you have other bootable drives connected)-- Notice the little icons on the bottom of the Finder window. Double click on "iTunes Music" at the window bottom. A new Finder window should open. I recomend the list mode, selectable at the top left of Finder window. Now you should be able to view all your itune- contents on the computer. It seems these files can be deleted, but one must remeber to empty trash before going further. Unfortunately this approach won't allow adding new folders that will show up in itunes. -

ShashidharYou need to do it through iTunes, by unsyncing them
Wtih your iPhone connected, open iTunes on your computer, and click on your iPhone's name.
This should bring up the Overview Page, then click on the Photos Tab.
From their uncheck the folders that have the images you want top remove from your phone. Then sync the phone. itunes will remove the pictures during the sync process. -

How to delete photos in Ipad
Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced - and then re-syncing.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
If you want to remove all of the Photos - uncheck the Sync Photos from Heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you are using iTunes 11 - this will be helpful, Setting up syncing in Windows.
