How to delete pix/albums in iPhoto for iOS.?

I created two Journals in iPhoto for iOS.
When uploading to the iCloud I constantly run into "Storage almost full" problems. I have already deleted many apps to create space, but iPhoto seems to consistently grow in size (iPad > Settings>General> Usage: 6.8GB for iPhoto), worse yet, when publishing the Journals which are on the iPad it seems that additional space is needed for the publishing process.
I did NOT find a way to delete either Pictures or Albums in the iPhoto for iOS app, nor do I find a way to delete Photos and Camera in Settings, nor (individual or a range of) Photos or Albums in the Photos app. In the Photos tab of the Photos app there is a red Delete button, but this is greyed out; in the Albums tab this Delete button does not appear at all.
Any advice/suggestion/pointer would be highly appreciated. Thanks and cheers from Austria.

iPhoto for iOS (iPad): Delete photos from iPhoto
Basically, you have to delete the photos the same way you got them onto the iPad in the first place.
In the Photos.app, you should be able to delete photos in the camera roll and in the events that have been uploaded using the camera connection kit, but no other.
Any synced photo can only be deleted by syncing again.
For Photos that have been edited, you need to undo all edits, before you can delete them, otherwise the delete button will not be active.
Albums created by tagging cannot be deleted, they are created automatic. You delete these albums by removing the tags from the photos. Then the album will vanish.

iPhoto/Facebook users - There is a solution to your problem! How to delete an album in iPhoto but not in Facebook!!!
The problem: Every time you update the iPhoto album (which is synced with Facebook), the Facebook album will also update. If you delete your iPhoto pictures due to space or backup issues, this will also delete the pictures on Facebook.

  • How do I exclude photos from iPhoto for iOS

I have iPhoto for iOS but unfortunately I can't find a way to exclude the photos I don't want anymore. Do you know how do I do it?

Do you mean, you want to delete certain photos from your iPhoto Library on your IOS device?
Photos that have been synced to iPhoto need to be removed on the device you are syncing from, then sync again. Photos that you imported from mail or the camera roll can be deleted using the menu:

If you edited a photo you need to revert the edits, before you can remove it. Otherwise it will stay in the "Edited" album.

  • How do I organize photos in iPhoto for ios

I am confused because there is a category for organizing photos here and in the iPhoto for iOS tutorial, but I cannot find any functionality for organizing photos into events and albums in the software. Am I missing something?  Does anyone know how to do this with the iPad short of making a new album every time in photos?  Most of the time I would like to add photos to existing albums and events rather than creating new ones.

At the moment I cannot see a way to do it in 'iPhoto' you have to do it in the 'Photos' app.  My workflow is to organize in 'Photos' and use 'iPhoto' for editing.  Hopefully future versions will make this much easier.

  • Can I create albums in iPhoto for iOS

My albums in iPhoto on my MacBook are imported to my iPad. But I can't add photos to the albums, I guess because they were created in iPhoto, not iPhoto for iOS. So I thought I would create the albums on my ipad in iPhoto for iOS, and import the old photos to is, and add new ones. But it doesn't appear that you can create albums in iPhoto iOS.  Can this be true?

You create (tagged) albums in iPhoto iOS by tagging. If you want a new album, you create a custom tag with the name of the album you want, and all photos with that tag will appear in your custom album.
Or create regular albums in the Photos.app. All albums created in the Photos.app are visible in iPhoto for iOS:

How do I delete albums in iphoto on my iPad?

Photos or albums are not deleted in iPhoto for iOS since
iPhoto for iOS uses the photos stored in the Photos app.
You can delete photos stored in the photos app that were taken by the iPad, copied from websites, received via photostream or received in an email directly on the iPad.
To delete albums copied to the iPad during a sync with your computer you need to do another sync. Once your iPad is connected to your computer deselect the albums in the Photos tab of iTunes that you no longer want on the iPad and then click on Apply or Sync.

how do i move photos in iPhoto for iPad from album to album ?

If you want to move a photo, then you need to use a PC or a Mac. In iPad, you can copy, but this is just a link to the original. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while...but it looks like it needs another photo program to do it.

  • How can I delete an event on an Ipad2, PHOTOS or Iphoto for IOS?

How can I delete a photo event on an IPAD2 using either PHOTOS or IPHOTO for IOS?
    Thanks

If the event is a synced event from iPhoto on your Mac, you have to deselect the event in iTunes while the iPad is connected to the Mac and with iTunes running and then sync - in order to remove the event from the photos app.
Synced photos cannot be deleted directly on the device. You must unsync the photos using iTunes on your computer.

  • HT4236 I've run out of room on my hard drive. I bought an external drive and exported all my albums to the external drive then deleted the albums from iPhoto. I want to sync both from my ext drive and new albums in iPhoto. No dice. Help!

I've run out of room on my hard drive. I bought an external drive and exported all my albums to the external drive then deleted the albums from iPhoto. I want to sync both from my ext drive and new albums in iPhoto. My photos on the devices get wiped out when I sync to iPhoto since I deleted all the albums. But when I sync to my hard drive (where I maintained the album structure) the photos are copied to my iPad but lose all the hierarchy and folder structure. Now I have to scroll through thousands of photos to try to find the one I'm looking for. Before I sync any more devices I want to know the following: 1) can I restore the album structure on my iPad by using the photo cache? 2) is there a way to sync both new iPhoto albums AND pictures in the folders in my hard drive? And 3) how can I keep the photo hierarchy structure from my hard drive intact on my devices?

    Don't do that.
Copy /Photos/Photo library/ to the external.
    Hold Option and launch iPhoto.
Select Choose library and select the Photo library you copied to the external.

  • How can I change the time of photos in info in iPhoto for iOS. I've done it in iPhoto for Mac but when I sync to my ipad the info field goes back to the camera time ignoring "modify original files" in iPhoto for Mac?

I used "adjust date and time" and"modify original files" to correct the time of photos taken on a camera used in Peru which was set to UK rather than local time. which is 6 hours  behind. This was to bring them into line with shots taken with other cameras set to local time. This was using iphoto 08 on a Mac. I then synced to my iPad. The photos stayed in the correct order in photos but in iphoto (iOS version) the original dates appear (the camera dates) and so the photos are out of chronological order again. This looks like a bug but is there a fix?

don't know what you mean by "write to master" but speculate that it means modify the original times, in which case the taken times on the camera should no longer be present
No,I meant your using the option "modify original files" will do exactly that - change the capture date original master files stored in the iPhoto library. Only when you do that, the "date modified" of your original files will be changed as well, and it will now be the date of your manipulation of the capture date.
Oh - I hadnt considered that possibility - but of that were the case, why don't my manipulated photos go to the end of the sequence as I have done all the manipulation after the end of the holiday??
In photos the synced album maintains the chronological order which I set up on the mac by modifying the originals, as you said,
That is what the linked article is describing: "some apps may sort your photos in the order you specify in the app (such as iPhoto or Aperture"
The problem I have is that, in the album, iphoto (ipad) sorts them differently to both iphoto (Mac) and the photos tab on the ipad
In addition to albums and events, synced photos appear in a unified category called Photo Library (on iPad, this is the Photos tab). Photos are not duplicated. This category will also sort photos in ascending order by the date modified.
"on ipad this is the Photos tab" - but this displays as per the original sequence ignoring time adjustments - the manipulations seem to be ignored (but are reflected in the album in the photos tab) and the photos tahat have been modified stay in their original positiom - they don't get put the end
Because the library uses a different date - the date modified - the date of the last time the file has been changed in any way - any editing you do to your image, including adjust date and time will change the "date modified"
This may change the sorting of the database but it appears not to influence the order in the albums
In addition to albums and events, synced photos appear in a unified category called Photo Library (on iPad, this is the Photos tab). Photos are not duplicated. This category will also sort photos in ascending order by the date modified.
So how can i get my photos in date and time order in an album in iphoto for ipad?
    Thanks for your help

  • How to search photos by title and or keywords on iPhoto for iOS

Maybe I'm not I'm not seeing things wright but I can't find any possibilitie to search photos by name, title, keyword with iPhoto (1.0.1) on my iPad 2 (5.1.1)
How can I Search? I don't want to beleive that's not possible...
    Miguel

    Rob,
as Frank Caggiano said. There is not really any Apple-provided application on the iPad that will support a full-fledged photo database like the Mac-versions of Aperture or iPhoto. Even the IOS app iPhoto is nothing like the Mac version of iPhoto. The iPad version is not a photo database but a tool for editing, sharing, and viewing photos - the iPhoto Help is saying:
With iPhoto for iOS, you have everything you need to view, edit, and share your photos on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch (with iOS 7).
You can organize your photos in iPhoto IOS in a limited way by tagging them, so that they will apear in albums: What are albums?
To tag them with flags or keywords see: Flag, tag, hide photos
Considering the limited space on IOS devices, the designers probably did not expect anybody to try to store so many photos on an iPad that it would be necessary to search for them other than using the predefined Views (Moments, Places) in the Photos.app, or iPhoto's albums. And any library organization you are doing in the Photos.app or iPhoto will not sync back to your computer.

  • How to delete a page from journal in iOS iphoto

I have a journal in iphoto for ios in my iphone.  how does one remove or delete a page from the journal?

I was finally able to remove my extra pages this way, too (Journal, Edit, click Page 1, etc.), but for several days I couldn't because the option to remove pages wasn't there.  I thought at first that maybe only the iPad (not iPhone) version of iPhoto had this option.  Then I checked again for maybe the 4th time, and the option was there.  I don't think there was an iPhoto app update during that time, so I don't know what happened.
