WHen you open up the firefox browser you start up at a modzilla firefox startup page the main question i would like to ask is, how do you delete the bing history in the middle search bar everytime i double click it after deleting history the searches are still there.

To delete the search bar right click on the menu bar ->customize option.
then drag and delete the unwanted Add ons.

Disappointing to say the least.

C:\private\20001f63\searchhistory.s2d
C:\private\20001f63\settings\recent.s2d
Maybe there are other files involved like all.s2d but deleting those files emptied my map and drive mode search, enough.
Aren't there bettery ways to do it?

Congratulations on tracking these files down as previously N8 either needed updating to v3.08Beta or firmware re-flashed to purge maps history!

If you cleared the history when you start typing another address it will look to what is stored in your Bookmarks. Could that be what you are seeing?

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

How to Delete Messages in Spotlight Search History without Resetting or Syncing!!

I know there are a lot of individuals dealing with this issue and if you are like me you spend hours searching "how to delete messages in spotlight search history" and it seems like every post either says to reset your phone or sync it! I'm sorry but I did not want to go through the hassle of resetting my phone but I did try to sync it which did nothing so I decided to just mess around with my settings and I believe to have found the answer to everyone's question!!
This worked for me so I really hope this works for you! Just follow the steps below:
1. Go to <settings><general><spotlight search><uncheck messages>
2. Then turn your phone off and wait a minute! Turn your phone back on and off again 2 or 3 more times while waiting a minute in between turning it off!
3. After you are done doing that go back to step 1 and <check messages>!
4. Now go to your spotlight search and those messages should be deleted! If they are deleted I would recommend going back to step 1 and <uncheck messages> so you do not have the same problem with messages showing up again in the spotlight search!
It works for Mail too! Just follow the same steps listed above but uncheck mail instead of messages or do both at the same time!!
*Here is an extra tip which will remove deleted Mail Messages, just follow the steps below:
1. Go to <settings><mail, contacts, calendars><your mail account> scroll down and click <advanced> Now click <remove> under the title Deleted Messages and you can choose to have your mail removed After One Day, After One Week, After One Month or Never.

I tried this fix and it does not work.
I have read that this is a problem for a long time - years. Me, personally, I do have emails and texts from the past that are private and were deleted, that I do not want my husband or daughter to read. Many people have this complaint and have had it a long time. Why does Apple not fix it?!?
Another privacy issue is the iMessage default settings on new devices. We bought a new iPhone for my college-age daughter and received all of her text messages until we noticed it and told her. We did a temporary fix. Then I got a new iPhone and the same thing happened. I had to set up iCloud accts. for each of us so that we each have privacy that cannot be tampered with. We still share our original iTunes account. Why did that have to happen?!?
We have been Apple consumers (laptops, iPads, iPods, iPhones) for over ten years (? longer w/just desk top) w/ the same account. These breaches in privacy are upsetting!! My point here is that these breaches are unacceptable! The spotlight search issue appears to be unresolved. FIX THIS APPLE!

Are the lines in a text file? A RichTextBox? A TextBox? Some other control? A List(Of String)?
Is there some expectation by you that by providing what you wrote in your question post that the knowledge in your mind about what you are thinking about will mysteriously emanate to anybody reading your post so all of the sudden your knowledge will

I just found this thread and am appreciative of the information. I am currently deleting over 24,000 emails that gmail has kept in the all mail folder. I noticed my mac mail was running so slowly and when I opened and watched the activity panel, I saw how many messages it was moving between mail and the gmail server. ugh!
So, whil I have to delete these in groups to make sure I keep any I have MEANT to keep, I just changed my settings to the 'immediate delete message forever' option. I had to change the setting above that one, to choose 'Auto expunge Off: wait for the client to udate the server'. Can you clarify what this means? I am wondering if a setting I have will cause an issue, and they may not be connected at all. I tell mail not to check for messages automatically, to wait until I ask it to check. With this set, will the system not delete unless I tell it to check messages? I hope I am asking this clearly.
To be honest, some of the other explanations here on hiding folders, etc. I am concerned if I hide a folder, I won't see that it has collected xxxxx number of emails or some other function. Hiding seems mildly dangerous to knowing what is going on. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are suggesting.
I like using mac mail on my iMac, ipad and iphone and having it match what I see in gmail when I check it at work. So I am grateful for the help to smooth out the process. The least checking that I can do, and deleting, etc., and still being able to find the message I need to keep, make me a happier user.

Mail tends to be a different version for each version of the OS.

You will find that if you use the "Refine the List" option just above the most recent thread title you can select the Mail Tag and it will show you a list of Topics that have been tagged with Mail.
When you post you can also choose to add these tags as it then helps people to find them (Some of the regualr posters concentrate on specific things and there are Mail Experts out there - I know I had to ask myself the other day but in Leopard and about a different matter).

Does anyone know how to delete a search engine? I only want to use Google, but when I put something in to search it grabs Bing as the search results and I don't want that. Google shows as my preferred search engine, so I am a littel confused as to why this is happening.

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. This procedure is a diagnostictest. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem. The backup is necessary in case your startup drive is failing.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed, as well as some other aspects of the configuration that may be related to the problem.
