How to delete someone in iPhoto ?

I want to keep the photos where they appear, but I don't want to see Michael & Marine either in iPhoto. How to do this ? Moving their folder to the trash doesn't work

Go to the faces section, select a face and hit cmd-delete. This should work.

  • How to delete pictures with iPhoto off your camera roll?

I bought iphoto to help me organize pictures on my Ipad and Iphone.  I especially like the idea of being able to compair two or more similar pictures and save the best photo and delete the copies that weren't as good.  I liked this feature but then discovered that it was not deleting the pictures off the camera roll.
I would love someone to tell me how to delete pictures in iphoto so they are removed from my Camera Roll at the same time.  Being able to look at two pictures at the same time and decide which one you want to keep is great, but if I can't delete the one I don't want it is a waste of time.

    Titan2,
Thanks for the reply,  I agree that the Iphoto needs to be the stock app.  Hope it isn't too long.
    Ralph,
I agree that the iphoto for the ipad might not be the best place to organize, but when you are retired and traveling you would like to select the pictures you want to keep and not wait until you get home.  The camera roll doesn't let you compair two or more photos to see which one is best,  Iphoto does but I want the poorer photos off the ipad so I don't have to wait until I get home and I want to use the memory for the best photos.   I'm trying to figure out a round about way so I know which ones to delete on the camera roll.
I thank both of you for your comments.

  • How to delete faces in iphoto

how can i delete faces in iphoto 9.5.1??

When in your photo library, go to the bottom search magnifying glass. Search "face". This should bring up all the files that iphoto has renamed and categorized for you as just the faces in your photos. The file names for the face photos are (file name)_face(number).jpg. Unless you have renamed any photos with "face" in it (I never did), this will pull them all up. Hit "command" + "A" and it will select them all. Then delete.

  • How to delete albums from iphoto?

There is clear instructions from within iPhoto to delete Journals but nothing about deleting albums.  How do I go about doing this on an iOS device - iPad or iPhone?

Albums are deleted using the Photo app or by syncing with your computer.use the Photo app to delete photos in the Camera Roll, All Imported and Last Imported albums.
To delete other albums start iTunes on the computer that you normally sync with and connect your iPad. Select your pad in the left column of iTunes on your computer. At the top of the right column select Photos.
In the list of Albums below deselect those albums you want to delete. That click on Apply in the lower right corner of that window.

To remove a pic from an album you hit delete. In no version of iPhoto did hitting delete in an album move the pics to the trash. It would only do that in the full library.
In v6 hitting option (or alt) key - delete would move a pic from an album to the trash, and in v7 this has changed to option (or alt) key +  + delete together to move a pic from an album directly to the trash.

  • How to delete someone else's photos on my iPad 2

Just purchased iPad2 and setup with someone else's laptop. I now have about 600 photos in my photo app that are not mine. How do I.delete these images.

  • How to delete photos from iPhoto and hard drive at the same time.

I need to remove some files from my iMac G5 in order to free up some space. I have some photos on my machine that I would like to delete. Is there a setting I can change so that I completely remove a photo from my machine when I delete the iPhoto thumbnail? If not, what is the best way to remove photos from my machine, and not leave thumbnails in iPhoto to photos that no longer exist on my machine etc. I'm using iLife 08 and the most recent version of Leopard on a third generation iMac G5.

To remove file from iPhoto and the HD simply put the files in the iPhoto trash and then go iPhoto Menu -> Empty trash.
This works if you're using iPhoto in the default setting, where the files are copied to the Library on import. If, however, you have a referenced library, you'll need to trash the files in your own folder structure yourself.

  • How to delete someone else's iCloud account on your iPhone without password?

I purchased my old iPhone 4 off a friend when I lost my phone at the time. All of my music and photos on that phone were under her iCloud account.
Now that I have just got a new iPhone 6, when I backed up all of my photos, music etc. onto iTunes and synced up my new phone, it transferred her iCloud account to my new phone. She does not remember her password, and it will not let me delete this account without the password. I have spent hours searching the internet for a solution but have had no luck. Surely someone else has had this happen to them in the past.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hello megneth,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to get an iCloud account signed out of your iPhone, you will need to have the previous owner sign out with their Apple ID login information.  If they do not remember their Apple ID password, then they can reset it by following the directions in the article below.

  • How to delete photos in iphoto 08 - silliy? not quite!

    Hi,
I'm used to hit the delete key to move a photo from a given album or my library to iphoto's trash and then empty the trash to completely remove the photo from my HD.
Now when I do this in iphoto 08 the photo is just removed from the album. That's all. It won't be moved to the trash - whatever I try. Drag and Drop won't do either. I created a custom album to show all photos not assosiated with any album. That way I can see that every photo is just removed from the album right to the library without beeing moved to the trash whenever I hit the delete key.
So a silly thing like trashing a photo seems to be impossible for me. I must be missing a very simple thing.
    BTW:
I run all repair steps which might seem advisable.
    - repair permissions of HD
    - checked for HD errors
    - triggerd all repair options offered by iphoto when both command and alt keys are pressed while launching iphoto.
    Still no luck.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • I should have said in my previous message that the iphoto program I am using is for an ipad 2.  I simply want to know how to delete an edited album which contains one photo that I do not want taking up space.

I should have said in my previous message that the iphoto program I am using is for an ipad 2.  I simply want to know how to delete an edited album which contains one photo that I do not want taking up space.

OK....I'm stumped.  The message you are seeing is typically there to protect someone from syncing with a different computer/iTunes account.  Is there any way anyone else has used your iPad and possibly connected it to their computer?

  • How do I ACTUALLY delete stuff from iphoto

I have an albumn I deleted. the photos are deleted from iphoto, the trash is emptied. searching for the file in the little magnifying glass shows the images i want deleted still. When I try a search for the filename in finder they do NOT show up... WHERE ARE THESE **** FILES STORED?
I can "delete all" photos from my iphone, then go into itunes and SYNC THE **** ALBUM full of photos that I deleted from iphoto.
HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS?
    ubuntu?

OK. I HAVE FOUND A POTENTIAL FLAW THAT SOMEONE AT APPLE MIGHT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT.
I was able to locate this file, in my finder, by entering the following command (to see hidden files)
    defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
    and then restarting terminal.
THEN I was able to see the directory that contained the images I wanted to delete. This is the crazy part though. I went into the folder "03" which now appeared in the screenshot as above. In this folder I found multiple subfolders that all had images that I thought I had deleted, and did not want any of the folders. That's not the weird part though. I did not want to delete the folder, just in case it messed anything up, so I deleted a single image. from one of the sub folders and it instantly deleted everything!
the whole "03" folder dissapeared. Just from dragging a photo contained in a subfolder in it. I have confirmed that it is gone through terminal. I was stupid and did not see if it went to the system trash before I emptied it... I'm not one of those crazy conspiracy theorists who thinks apple is watching me , I realize this is probably a bug, but it's a scary bug.
Now here is what I want to know. Will someone tell me how I can search for ALL FILES, EVERYTHING, through finder? I now have hidden files shown, but I cannot search them. I want to see a finder page with EVERY photo on my mac. If I search "all images" it shows 200 images, I know there are thousands of images on this mac. I want to see them all. I use my camera as a makeshift scanner for confidential documents and I want to make sure they are not lingering like these other photos were. Please tell me how to do this? in the last version of OSX I used, I just had to click "search system files" or somthing along those lines...
anyways my problem is half-solved, as now I know at least how to delete the photos once I know they are there. Now I just want to know how to find if they are there!
