How to delete synced iMessage

I logged in iMessage in two iPhones with the same Apple ID and found that the iMessage history in iPhone #1 is automatically synced in iPhone #2. And I could imagine it will happen if I logged in another iPhone or iPad. Is there a way to permanantly delete my iMessage history? Is it stored in iCloud?

Tap and hold the message bubble (not the !), then tap More in the popup then tap the trash can on the bottom left

  • How do I sync iMessage on iOS with Messages on OSX Lion?

This morning, an Update for Messages on OSX was announced.
I just downloaded the Beta and it is running quite well.
    There is one last question!
How do you sync iMessage on iOS with Messages on OSX Lion.
    Example:
I'm texting with Jana on my Mac - but I can't see this conversation on my iPhone / iPad even tho´ the email adress is added in my "iMessages-Settings" on iPhone/iPad.
I also can't start a conversation on my iOS devices and continue them on my Mac.
Anybody out there knowing what to do?
    Best regards from Germany.
    Andreas

    Hi,
I contacted my son on his iPhone by his number.
He did not have his email linked to his Apple ID
When he did that he could message me with that ID rather then the phone number.

  • How do I sync iMessages so that when I delete it on one device, it will delete it from the other devices?

I have 3 devices all using the same iCloud account: iPhone 5, iPad 3, and MacBook Pro with Mt. Lion.  I want to be able to delete an iMessage on one device and have it automatically deleted from the other devices automatically instead of having to delete the message on all 3 devices.  Is this possible?  I want it to sync up just like an email account would sync up.  Thanks.

You got the gist of it - imessage and email accounts have different supporting "underline". Even some of the mail accounts (POP) do not have that capability. Neither does imessage. What I did is made sure that I receive my imessages to one device only. I do not know if it will work for you. Good luck.

  • How to delete synced photos on iPhone 4? Please tell me! Thanks!

I have tried to delete the synced photos on iphone but it can be deleted! How??

You can remove all of the synced photos from the phone by connecting it to iTunes on your computer and syncing again but before you sync remove the checkmark beside "Sync Photos from" on the Photos tab of iTunes. If you only want to remove some of the photos there are more details in the "To delete synced photos and videos" section of http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4236

  • How to delete an imessage contact ?

A few months ago i saved a number under the incorrect name and was messaging a friend under the wrong name (if that makes sense),
I deleted the contact as i no longer wanted that number or contact in my phone at all but everytime i go to type in that incorrect name in a new message it comes up with the new number and the old number and it is so confusing. I no longer need the old number at all anymore but no matter what i do it will not go away. I deleted all my imessage history from mycomputer, nothing happened. I even restored my entire phone and again nothing happend. Today i swapped iphones with my sister, completely restored both, and once again it still appears. Please help me!!

Everything is deleted but you still can recover most:
    1. Sync back (or re-download for free) all apps and iTunes music/media
    2. Contacts, calendars, notes can be recovered/synced if you are syncing them with a cloud service (iCloud, Yahoo, Google) or apps on your computer (never rely on the backup for these).
    3. Photos should be imported into an app on your computer, then synced back to the phone
    5. Messages can be imported to your computer using various computer apps
    6. You will lose phone settings, app data.
Restoring as new will be a bit of a PIA.  Whether it's worth it for this purpose depends on how annoyed you are about seeing the cache of this contact...

  • How can I sync iMessage between my iPhone and iPad

Hello all, I have a firtst gen iPad (running iOS5.1.1). I using my Apple ID to run iMessege on it. Recently, I bought iPhone 5 (2 month ago) running iOS 6.1.3. I sing up to iMessage using Apple ID but start new converstion from my phone number as caller ID. Somehow only 1 conversion syncs between my iPhone and my iPad. Recently it stop. So I start looking for answers. I want to sync my all converstions, I found that I can set phone number as Caller ID on an iPad but I can't found how. I will apreciate if anyone will put some light on how iMessage works.
I still want that my caller ID will be my phone number cause I don't want to make 2 separte thread on the one who get my message.
If I set my email as caller ID so when I'll send a text message from my phone it will make a seperate thread converstion from me on the device of the person I send the text to.

  • How to delete synced-in photos from iPad?

Thanks to all who responded to my query re deleting photos from iPhoto in iPad.
    Consequential question is:
Most of those to be deleted were synced in from my computer. How do I set about
    deleting these?

If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need to remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • How to delete sync'd GMail Address Book

I recently setup a new 9800.  I activated on my company BES and sync'd with my GMail account.  I quickly realized both had the exact same contacts, so I've stopped the GMail acount from syncing; however, now I have all these duplicate contacts on the BB which I can't delete.
Previously this could be accomplishd through Desktop Manager, however, the Address Book is marked as read only.
Any thoughts on how to remove the GMail address book without wiping the phone and restoring?  I've already tried deleting the GMail account altogether with no luck.

Actually I already copy all my cd,mp3 in my itunes I got 2457items song (all in my mac os hardisk).
Now I need to sync all my music and movie using icloud or itunes match.
I don;t want to use the cable. I wanted to sync using  icloud or itunes match.
    1. Can all the music and movie sync with icloud and direct sync with my iphone?
    2. Or all music and movie using itunes match and sync into my iphone?
Is the cable only the way to sync all the  music and movie.

  • How do i sync iMessage on my phone and macbook air

imessage on my phone and macbook air used to be synced, in that all of the messages either sent or recieved would show up on both my iphone 5s and my macbook, in the last week this hasnt happened though and the messages only show up on one or ther other; if my computer is on they only show up on there but if its off they will come to my phone, how can i get them to sync again to make then come up on both??

    Hi bec1993,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
I believe there may be an issue revolving around the Apple iD or the iMessaging accounts being used on your iPhone and MacBook Air.
In order for iMessages to sync between iOS devices they need to use the same Apple iD. This basically will link all your iOS devices in n Apple ecosystem where they will all be synced across all your iOS devices.
The first thing to do is check if the iMessaging accounts are using the same Apple iD:
To do this first on the Mac go to the application Messages:
              1.          Click messages from the menu bar at the top of the screen
              2.          Click Preferences
              3.          Click Accounts, from here you will see all the places where you are getting messages to your MacBook.
              4.          Look at all the accounts where the iMessaging description is/the accounts that are sending and receiving iMessages on your MacBook Air. They all have iMessage in the description below the address
    Now go to your iPhone:
              1.          Go to settings
              2.          Scroll down to Messages
              3.          Make sure that iMessage is turned on
              4.          Then go to Send and Receive and click this
              5.          Make sure that the Apple iD at the top of the screen matches address that was found in Step 4 of the first part and make sure they match up and are identical.
If they aren't - you can change the wrong one and this with fix your problem and have the messages resyncing again.
If they are the same and still not syncing, simply log out of the accounts on both sign out in the preferences on Messages OS X and log out in Messages iOS and then reenter your details in both correctly.
I hope this helps and please keep be posted as to if you succeed.
    Many Thanks
    iBenjamin Crowley

  • How do I sync iMessage between my iPod touch and my MacBook Pro on Mountain Lion?

I have just recently downloaded Mountain Lion and I also have an iPod touch that I use iMessage on. I was wondering if there was any way to sync the messages between the two devices.

"I just got a new laptop and downloaded itunes, but the itunes library doesn't have any songs."
Probably because you didn't put any music on your new computer. It doesn't magically appear.
"Does this mean that if I sync my ipod on my laptop all the songs on my ipod will get erased?"
    Yes.
Move all of the music ( and all of your other info/pics/docs/etc) from your old computer to your new one.
As provided you can just use your backup copy for this. It is one of the many reasons that ALWAYS maintaining a backup copy is basic.

  • How to delete Sync Issues folder in outlook -Exchange 2010 environment ?

is there a way to get rid of Sync Issues folder in outlook , I tried out solution with MFCMapi but no luck . Please suggest ?
    Aditya Mediratta

    Hi Aditya,
    Thank you for your question.
By my testing, there are 5 folders which we didn’t delete. It is a system necessary folder.
There are Deleted Items, Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, Sync Issues.
Could you tell me that why you want to delete it? We could hide it by the following methods:
1: In the Bottom of the Navigation Pane you shall find the following Option (Mail, Calendar, Contacts,) Click on the option that says Mail, this will hide the hidden folders.
2: Clicking on the “Folder List” button present at the bottom of the navigation pane (Where we see the folder icon).
3: Incase if you do not see the Option for “Folder list” at the bottom of the Navigation Pane, then please do the following:
At the Top Click on the View Ribbon > Navigation Pane > Options > You will get a Window called “Navigation Pane Options “> Check the Box that says Folder List and move it up the list using the
“Move Up” option. Now you would find the “Folder list “option at the bottom of the Navigation Pane. > Clicking it will Un-hide /Hide the hidden folder visible in the navigation list.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim

  • How do I sync iMessages between iPad and iPhone on iOS 6?

Haven't found anything online that was helpful as most of the references pertained to older iOS version or not the iPhone 5.

    Hello Kenny,
Thank you for your question.  Deleting messages on one device will not delete the message on your other devices, but you can choose to disable iMessage or unlink your phone number.
You can disable iMessage on your iPad by going to Settings > Messages.
iPad User Guide - Messages settings
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/#/iPad99acb5bb
Alternatively, you can unlink your phone number from your Apple ID on your iPhone if you would only like to receive messages that are sent to your Apple ID on your iPad:
    Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.
You can find the full article here:
