How to delete synced-in photos from iPad?

Thanks to all who responded to my query re deleting photos from iPhoto in iPad.
Consequential question is:
Most of those to be deleted were synced in from my computer. How do I set about
deleting these?

If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need to remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • How can I sync specific photos from folders instead of syncing the whole folder to my iPad?(1 gen)

So I recently synced a few folders from my PC to my iPad 1 and there was a few photos I did not want on my iPad, so when I tapped the photo, the trash button wasn't there. I looked up why that was happening and discovered it was because synced photos can't be deleted from the photo library. So I ask my question, how can I sync specific photos from folders instead of the whole folder? from iTunes to my iPad. If there is not a way for me to sync specific photos from folders, how can I delete the photos I don't want from my iPad?

As King_Penguin has already explained, this isn't possible with the stock Photos app.
As far as photo syncing is concerned, I also recommend PhotoSync, which is an excellent photo (and video!) synchronization tool, should you want to stick with the stock Photos app on the iPad. Should you want something better (Photos is a pretty limited app without sorting, EXIF displaying etc. capabilities and with HUGE storage usage), you'll need to take a look at third-party apps. I too recommend Photo Manager Pro, it's IMHO the best tool. There's a complete roundup of image viewers for iOS at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/all-one-photo-viewer-roundup-70-price-drop-bes t-image-viewer ; you might want to read it.

I have 2? How do I sync selected photos from my IPad to my IMac w/o losing all photos on my IPad which will be replaced with the photos on my IMac.You see I have two IMacs with different sets of photos. The iPad and related software is designed to sync with only one computer. I suggest transferring the photos from one of your iMacs to the other so that all photos are on one Mac. Same for all other files you want to sync over.
To get those AppleWorks files to the iPad you'll have to determine if Pages will open them. If it will then use the file sharing feature of iTunes to copy them to Pages on your pad.
If Pages will not open the AppleWorks files directly you'll have to save them in some format that Pages will read. These include but may not be limited to Pages and Word formats.

How do I remove a photo from iPad air camera roll taken by the camera?

I took 2-3 hundred pics on my trip with my iPad mini and have downloaded them to iPhoto.  How can I get rid of them on my iPad now...do I have to do it one picture at a time?   When I first downloaded them iTunes asked if I wanted to delete them from my iPad and I foolishly said no.  Am I now forced to do it them one at a time or is there a setting I am missing that will do it?  They are using all of my memory!!

  • How do I sync one photo from phone to computer?  Seems like this was easy on my Apple 1, but I can't figure it out with 3G.  I can only sync new photos-and get all of them.

How do I sync one photo from my iPhone 3G to computer.  My only option is to sync all new photos.  Do I need iPhoto?

Yes, you do need iPhoto, or at least for the following: Plug it into the computer with the USB plug you get with it, and iTunes will automatically open. It doesn't matter if you keep it open or not, because you'll import them to iPhoto. When you open iPhoto, it will automatically go to your iPhone's inventory of photos. Choose a photo that you wish to import (or click import all), type in the titile, and click import. A pop-up message will come up that asks if yu want to keep originals. Click yes, and viola. Your photos are on your computer! Hope this helps.

how do i sync my photos from my iphone to itunes or in my laptop..?

To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPhone or saved from emails/websites then see this page -  on a Mac you should be able to use iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your phone such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPhone, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

How To Save Screen Shot Photo From iPAD to JPEG FORMAT

The "iPad format" is PNG (which is better quality than JPEG).
There is no way to choose JPEG at the moment of taking the screen shot. You will need to convert the file using conversion software, probably on your computer. Google "convert PNG to JPEG".

  • How to remove thousands of photos from ipad

    Hi all,
When I was at vacation I imported about 7560 photos from my digital camera into the new iPad.
At home I imported all the photos from the ipad to Aperure and clicked "delete all the photos from the iPad".
Aperture really removed some photos (about 2 GBs from 45 GBs) and now shows me an "empty" iPad.
But the most of photos still are on the iPad. Aperture doesn't see any photos more, even after restarting.
Okay, then I tried iPhoto. iPhoto sees photos, but doesn't want to remove photos.
Then I tried my windows PC - it could remove a couple of photos but got an error after deleting multiple photos at once.
Then I tried Image Capture on my Mac - it removes about ten photos and then loses the ipad. Loses means it doesn't see the iPad under devices, even after restarting the app. After rejecting and reconnecting the iPad I can remove other 8 or 10 photos with Image Capture and it loses the iPad again.
Now, after about 2 hours I still have 6271 photos on the iPad.
Can some one help me to delete all the photos at once from my new iPad?

I can see that this is already on the list of the "new feature suggestions".
You should still add your vote. The ones with the highest votes will get faster attention.
A dummy photo is another workaround but I personally don't like to bloat my phone up uneccesarily. Just as quick to remove and re-add a contact, but the choice is yours.

  • How to delete images or photos from Photostream

Is it possible to delete images or photos in Photostream? If yes, how to proceed?

How do I delete photos from my Photo Stream in iCloud?
Individual photos cannot be deleted from your Photo Stream. You can, however, delete all the photos in your Photo Stream by clicking the Reset Photo Stream button in your account at icloud.com. The Reset Photo Stream button will instantly delete all Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud, but it will not remove any Photo Stream photos that have already been pushed to your devices.
How do I delete photos from my Photo Stream on my devices?
After deleting the photos from your Photo Stream in iCloud, you can remove the Photo Stream photos from your devices as follows:
On your iOS devices, go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream and turn Photo Stream off. This will delete all the photos from your Photo Stream album. If there are any photos you want to keep on your device, make sure to add them to an album or save them to your Camera Roll first.
