How to delete the Previous Recipients list in iPhone 3G Mail

I would like to delete the list of previous recipients in my iPhone 3G Mail so that when I search it only shows addresses in my Contacts, not every single random address I may have used.
I know how to do this in Mail on my desktop, and I tried the option of replacing the Mail info on the iPhone with the info from the desktop, but it didn't work.
Anyone knows how to do this?

sanjinzvonic,
In my expeirence, the only way to do this is to restore your iPhone, setting it up as a new phone. You can try resetting all settings prior to this to see if that does it as well.
To reset all settings, navigate to Settings > General > Reset.

  • Unable to Delete OLD (prior to 2009) Addresses from the Previous Recipients List using ANY Method

    How do I delete OLD addresses in the "Previous Recipients List? I am unable to delete OLD addresses (last used years, 2007 & 2008) using the button "Remove From List" or clicking on the address when it is displayed in Mail & selecting "Remove from Previous Reciopients List."

    Solved:  When composing an email and beginning to type an email address, you are prompted with autofillins.  There is a small x to the right of the name.  If you wish to delete the autofillin, then click on the x and Yahoo will remove it from the options in the future.

  • Deleting from previous recipients list

    Autofill of addresses contains incorrect or not wanted addresses, most of these don't show in the previous recipients list and when I delete the incorrect ones, they come back and continue to fill in the address pane. The incorrect addresses have been corrected in Address book and I don't know where the others are or came from. How do I clean them all out?

    Make sure there are no addresses in the Previous Recipients that you need, then quit Address Book and Mail and delete ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/MailRecents-v4.abcdmr

    Where does Mail keep its hidden cache of auto-complete email addresses.  I am plagued with an incorrect email address I can't get rid of.  Have made sure it's deleted from Contacts and made sure it's deleted from "Previous Recipients" list in Mail.  But it still keeps reappearing ... obviously a secret cache file hidden somewhere?

    Autocomplete has nothing to do with this problem.
    From the Mail menu bar, select
              Window ▹ Connection Doctor
    Look for a disused SMTP (outgoing mail) account in the window that opens. Double-click it. Another window will open, showing a list of all the outgoing mail accounts. The unwanted one will be selected. Click the minus-sign button to delete it, then click OK.
    If there's more than one unwanted account, repeat.

  • Can you export the "Previous Recipients" list to a spreadsheet ?

    Is there anyway you can export the “Previous Recipients” list in mail to a spreadsheet or get them into your address book to do a group mail from there ?
    Thanks Matt

    What are you trying to do?
    Do you want to get some of the previous recipients into Address Book all in a single group?
    You can get them into Address Book as Kappy mentioned, but you'll have to then wade through the Address Book to find them and put into groups. The Last Import group doesn't catch them, and I couldn't create a smart group to gather them either.

  • What gets added to the Previous Recipients list?

    I have someone whe swears some emails that he sends out aren't being add to his Previous Recipients list and therefore not auto-filling. Do addresses get added if you simply reply, or do you have to actualy type them out in a new email for them to be added?
    Thanks for ANY information regarding this.

    All message recipients for sent messages should be added to the list regardless how an email address is added to the To:, Cc: or Bcc: fields. If an email address is already available in the list, it won't be duplicated/added again.
    This applies to a newly composed message and when Replying to - selecting Reply or Reply All for a received message and when forwarding a received message.

  • Anyone know how to copy/export previous recipients list from Outlook to iCloud?

    Hi,
    Ever since using MobileMe and now iCloud to sync contacts with Outlook, I've had horrendous issues with mulitple duplicates within my contacts. In an attempt to resolve this, I've manually removed all the duplicates, synced with my iphone and ipad and iCloud and removed them from my local Outlook contacts folder. Then, within Outlook, all the contacts are only listed in the iCloud folder. This seems to be working well now for a few months, but now, every time I write a new email, there's no auto-suggest of my contacts emails, like there was before. Is there a file that stores a previous recipients list that can be copied or moved to accomodate emails being sent from my iCloud account?
    Thanks for any help.

  • How do I remove an address from the previous recipients listing?

    When I am entering an email address using iPhoto sharing, there is an address that I need to remove from the list. I have checked Mac Mail and removed all of the entries in the Precious Recipients file and found and removed the offending address from my Address Book but it still pops up in iPhoto. How can I clear entries from this listing?

    Install the AddExpandedList add-on allow the removal of select contacts from a mailing list addressing:

  • How to delete the short dump list in st22

    Hi all,
              i want to clear the runtime error list in ST22.
    How to clear the list of short dump in ST22.
    is there any T.code kindly suggest
    thanks in advance
    Sundar.c

    Dear Sundar,
    By default, short dumps are stored in the system for 14 days. The transaction for managing short dumps is ST22. You can delete short dumps in accordance with a time specification using the Reorganize function, which you can call by choosing
    Goto u2192 Reorganize in ST22. You can save a short dump without a time limit using the Keep function, which you can choose under Short Dump u2192 Keep/Release in ST22.
    The short dumps are stored in table SNAP. If there are too many entries in table SNAP, problems can occur during the reorganization (see SAP Note 11838). There are different options for deleting short dumps from table SNAP:
    1. Call transaction ST22. Choose Goto u2192 Reorganize. You can now specify that all short dumps older than n days old (default 7) are to be deleted. If a very large number of records are deleted at once during the reorganization,
    ORACLE error ora1562, failed to extend rollback segment ..., can occur. In this case, see SAP Note 6328.
    2. Dropping and recreating table SNAP with the database utility (transaction SE14): you can use this transaction to drop and recreate the table SNAP. This means that all short dumps are deleted.
    3. The reorganization program RSSNAPDL deletes old short dumps in pieces (to avoid database problems) from table SNAP. It deletes short dumps that are not flagged for retention and are older than seven days old. Schedule this program at a time of low workload, as large changes in the database are to be expected. The program RSNAPJOB performs a standard scheduling: it starts the program RSSNAPDL every day at 1:00 a.m.
    4. TableSNAP is also automatically reorganized. At every short dump that occurs in dialog (the dump is displayed immediately after it is created), a maximum of 20 short dumps that are older than 7 days old are deleted from SNAP. This reorganization should be sufficient in normal production operation.
    Hope this information resolves your error and also more useful in the feature.
    Thanks
    Kishore

  • How to delete the previous request in Cube ?

    Hi All
      I have 2 sources loaded to Cube..
    Ex:
    ODS A --> Cube 1
    ODS B --> Cube 1
    Today they 31.10.2011 for both  in CUBE1
    so it becomes...
    ODS A --> Cube 1 --> 31.10.2011
    ODS B --> Cube 1 --> 31.10.2011
    tomorrow they load... CUBE 1 shld be..
    ODS A --> Cube 1 > 31.10.2011--
    DELETED
    So finally my cube has only following requests..
    ODS B --> Cube 1 --> 31.10.2011
    ODS A --> Cube 1 --> 01.11.2011
    ODS B --> Cube 1 --> 01.11.2011
    ODS A request which is older than 1day must be deleted before loading the next day...
    Can I use DELETE OVERLAPPING requests for this requirement? I am not too sure...what are the steps to be created..?
    as I tried but it was not successful.
    can anyone help me with IDEAS or steps??
    thanks a lot

    yes, you are right. You should use Delete overlapping request option.
    If it is not working, please let us know what option did you select for overlapping request deletion, may be you missed something there because overlapping request deletion is the best fit for your requirement.
    One thing you need to make sure that loads on both the days are done through PC only.
    If you do a manual load on 31.10.2011 and then PC loads data on 01.11.11, overlapping request deletion step will not delete the request loaded manually on 31st but if loads are done throught PC only, there should not be a problem.

  • How to delete the music libary on my iphone?

    hello everybody,
    I've tried to sync my iPhone (iOS 6) with iTunes 10.7 to sync my music - but it fails.
    iTunes said: determining tracks to sync but skips this process soon.
    I've tried a restore, dis/re-enabiling iTunes Match on the device, restart mac, restart iTunes, nothing would happen with my music
    If I'm enable iTunes Match and open the music app within my wifi I've seen a big cloud symbol with a progress bar - filling to the half.
    but after eight hours within wifi nothing happen with this progress bar.
    So I guess I can't accesss iCloud and I can't sync music to my iPhone!
    Any Ideas except restore? Deleting a libary file on the iphone? Any other unable to access iCloud?
    Hope for your answers guys!
    Seb

    seems to be fixed by disabling restrictions - espacially the Ping restrictions.
    But if I'm open the restriction menu Ping will be removed - maybe because it isn't no longer a part of iOS?
    By disabling Ping my iCloud progress bar will slowly filling to the end - hope Ping will completely kicked out of iOS 6 with the next bugfix update!
    there is hope again! :-))

  • How to restore previous recipients list

    My previous recipients list was populated with many, many email addresses that I relied on to auto-fill in the "To:" field when sending new emails. The other day I noticed that it wasn't auto-filling anymore and discover the previous recipients list was empty. How did that happen? Can it be restored? I've read that there should be a MailRecents-v4.abcdmr file in /users/username/Library/Application Support/Address Book, but I don't see it. Am I looking for the correct file or is that for newer versions of Mac OSX or Mail?

    Greetings,
    You cannot restore the Previous Recipients list. If somebody (you, or someone else using your computer) deleted those entries, they're not coming back until you enter them again.
    The file you refer to is not on Mac OS X 10.4, but even if it was, it wouldn't do you any good. You can't easily access that file or make it do anything; it's created by Address Book.

  • Previous Recipients List is Empty, But They Still Show Up

    OK, weird issue...
    Over the years my previous recipients list has gotten pretty junked up. I read on the forum if I wanted to start from scratch to delete the file in the ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/ that contained the info. I did that, restarted and when I look at Mail in the Previous Recipients list (Window/Previous Recipients) it is empty. However, when I start to type an address in Mail it is still pulling some info from somewhere that is not in my address book. Any ideas out there?

    No one is smart enough to help me out on this one? I am sure someone has seen this!
