  • How can I delete Top Sites from Firefox 18.0 that I am running on my Kindle Fire HD?

I have tried the solutions already offered but without success. I have the list of Top Sites in front of me but when I long tap one, I get "Firefox: About your browser." The choices offered are Open in New Tab, Share, and Add to Home Screen.
    Help, please.

    Hi llevitan,
You may need to check for updates. The latest Firefox version is 24.0. On the Top Sites screen tap the address bar at the top of screen (screenshot 1), this will open "about:home" which shows the tabs Top Sites, Bookmarks and History (screenshot 2). Tap and hold a page you want to remove and a dialogue box "Customize controls, options and add-ons" will open (screenshot 3). Select Remove and your page will be removed from the Top Sites list.

  • How to get 'Top Sites' back?

I downloaded an Installer, but then deleted it, however what i didn't notice was that it had made itself my Safari Homepage, rather than 'Top Sites', how do i get 'Top Sites' back?

Open Safari and click Preferences on the menu named Safari. On the General tab set "New Windows Open with" and "New Tabs Open with" to Top Sites. It doesn't matter what the Homepage is set to if the above are set to Top Sites.
If New Windows Open With isn't a choice, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > General and put a checkmark in front of "Close Windows when Quitting an app."

  • How to disable Top sites icon in Favorites bar?

I have upgraded to Mavericks and there are two issues that make me regret the move.  The first is small sounding but it makes me so angry I can't see straigh.  In a Google sort of way, the new version of Safari foists upon me that miserable button - the top sites icon - as if to say "haa haa ... we know what is good for you".  I want it gone!  It used to be an option you could uncheck in the preferences ... but unless I'm missing something (I sure hope so!) Apple decided we should not have the option.  Please tell me there is some way to get rid of the icon ... and better yet to disable somehow the whole top sites thing.  I despise it, and I despise that someone tells me what I must have and how to work.
The second thing is the bookmark sidebar.  I've always like how it works in safari.  Now for some reason, as oposed to before, when you have the side bar slide into place so that you can select the bookmark - it stays there!  Why?  I want it to disapear after I click on a bookmark as it always has.  I don't want to click again each time to make it go away.  Is there a way to bring back the old behavior?  This was in the beta of mavericks and I was not going to upgrade over the "feature".  In the demo however I caught that a presenter clicked ... and the bar slid away, the way I would like it to.  Now that I have mavericks ... it does not  work as in the demo on stage.
So ... anyone ... is there a way for me to fix these two irritations?
I'm going to wait a month or so to see how Mavericks direction develops.  I've always disliked Chrome because I don't trust they security and their proclivity towards tracking.  I haven't cared for Firefox much neither ... mostly due to the way they render fonts.  I will not use Safari if I can't change both of these features ... so I guess (because I suspect it is a case where apple knows what is good for me) that I won't be able to set up safari to not annoy me ... so my last questions is a recomendation for a replacement browser.  What are your favorite browsers aside from Safari?
    Thanks.

Well after a few more days with Mavericks I have to say I'm fairly impressed with it.  Both laptops seem to have better battery life, and ... is it my imagination ... but they seem faster too?  Not bad.
On the Safari problem I have, so far, made no headway, so I would be grateful for anyone who can come up with an answer.  Perhaps  the drawer sliding out and then back after you click your bookmark has a command line solution?  I wonder how to investigate that?
As slick as Safari is (It has long been my favorite browser) I've been looking for a replacement.  I won't consider Crome because of the afforementioned Google practice of monetizing "us' and our data.  I don't  trust em!
I dowloaded Opera ... and found that they have the same ideas in spades, about Top sites, that Apple seems to be adopting. What a shame ... and a no-go.
Then I started a trial with iCab.  Now that is one nice browser!  First impression are very possitive but there is the same top sites icon sitting there, with no obvious way to zap it.  WHAT is going on ... does everyone havet to jump on the same (often hated) feature? I sent an email to the developer, expecting little but hoping just a bit anyways.  Guess what?  About forty five minutes later I received a reply.  Wow, now that is nice!
My first impressions of iCab are very positive.  I, however have the
same problem.  There is a top sites right in the favorites bar.  Can
this be disabled?  I have not yet found a way to do this.
You can turn off this icon in iCab. Please enter "settings:" (without the
quote characters, but including the colon) in the URL field and hit the
"return" key. This will open some additional settings where you can configure
some more stuff. In the section "favorites toolbar" there's a setting to
show or hide the TopTen icon in the favorites toolbar. Just switch this
option off and click on the "Save Settings" button.
    Alexander Clauss
..... So problem avoided.  I'm going to spend the twenty dollars to register iCab even  though one does not really need to.  With responsiveness like this ... well, I want to keep it.
So that is my progress up until now.  Not much on the original quest ... if you count nothing+hope as merely "not much".  Still hoping.  But having choices such as iCab and probably others ... sure did make me less grumpy.
I know I should perhaps just chill out. Life would sure be a bit easier if I had it in me to not care about these little details, I know.  Having it perfect, perfectly elegant and perfectly customizable - that's tough.
On the other hand.  This is Apple. Isn't it?
    Cheers!

  • How to delete a site

How can I to delete a site from Muse? I am not using Adobe catalyst.

When you say Delete a site,  do you want to delete the source file of the site which you open in Muse?
It must be stored somewhere on the machine with a .muse extension. You can delete it from there.
If you want to delete the site from the "Recent Site" section which you get when you launch site, you might have to delete the preferences of Adobe Muse. For that :
Delete "AdobeMuse" folder from the following location:
    Mac OS: ~/Library/Preferences
    Windows XP:  %appdata%
    Windows 7: %appdata%
    And then launch Muse.
    Hope this helps.

  • I need the Step by step "dummies" version of how to delete outdated sites from the navigation toolbar.

My 12 year old daughter would like to remove a few websites from our navigation tool bar and we can't figure out how to delete. All the questions answered on this site so far require a PHD in IT. Can someone please provide us a step by step version on how to remove a few simple sites? Thanks!

    Hello Amy.
I think we need to clear things out a bit in terms to terminology: the navigation toolbar is the toolbar where, by default, you have the back/forth buttons, the location bar and so on. What you're probably talking about is the bookmarks toolbar, where, by default, some of your bookmarks (those that are stored there) appear. Rightclicking them and selecting ''Delete'' is probably all you need to do?

I'm unable to set Top Sites as my homepage in Safari 6 on Mountain Lion.

Navigate to the topsite you want to set as your home page then go to Safari > Preferernces > General.
    Click:  Set to Current Page
You can open new windows and tabs in Top Sites from the pop up menus.
If you have trouble with that, quit Safari then open the Finder.
From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy / paste:   ~/Library/Safari
Click Go then move the TopSites.plist file from the Safari folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari.

  • How to Delete Top Level Folder

I have a number of files in a hierarchy of folders and I wish to delete the top level folder but leave in place all the sub folders and files contained therein. There are only folders (no files) under the top level folder. Specifically, I do not want to just select and drag and drop all the subfolders.
Any help on how to do this appreciated.

First, to clarify the term - there are traditional VS projects (C# project, VB project, etc.) and with Team Foundation there are now Team Projects. Given the question, I take it you mean team projects (as created with the "New Team Project" option and going through the Project Creation Wizard).
When you create a team project called "foo", the folder for that project (assuming you had it create a folder during the Project Creation Wizard, which is the default) will be called $/foo. Based on your question, I take it you're referring to a folder called "bar" that would be at server path $/foo/bar since it's part of the "foo" team project.
The easiest way to rename or delete such a folder would be to bring up the Source Control Explorer (View | Other Windows | Source Control Explorer) and navigate to that folder. You'll want to make sure that you have the folder in your local workspace (this is a limitation when have in V1) so you may want to right-click on "bar" and do a "get latest version" first. If you don't already have it mapped, you'll be prompt to pick a local path to map it to.
When you right-click on the folder "bar" (once you have it in your workspace), among the entries in the context menu will be Delete, Rename (for the "rename to oranges" case), and Move (for "move it to another folder"). Note that each of these pends the operation on the workspace, and you'll need to check in before the change is committed to source control.
