How to delete Xcode Tools?

I just downloaded Xcode Tools.mpkg from the install disk. After reviewing it I realized I will never ever need this.
I think it created a folder named "Developer" in my Macintosh HD with a size of 1.55GB. Is this what I downloaded? Can I just trash the folder and that's it ? I don't want to mess up something...
TIA

Ok I'm reading the uninstall instructions on the pdf.
Is it better tio uninstall from the system or the install disk?
Thanks

  • How to Uninstall xcode Tools?

    I installed Gimp, and was looking for X11, and assumed it was in the xcode tools package on the Apple OSX install disc.
    So I installed the xcode tools, and got the 'successfully installed' notice. But then found out X11 is not in xcode tools!
    Eventually I did find and install X11, and Gimp runs fine.
    So now I want to uninstall the xcode tools cleanly.
    I won't be using them.
    I read the instructions in the About xcode tools pdf, and tried the command in Terminal with this result:
    apples-mac-mini:~ colin$ % sudo perl/Developer/Tools/uninstall-devtools.pl
    -bash: fg: %: no such job
    apples-mac-mini:~ colin$ % sudo perl /Developer/Tools/uninstall-devtools.pl
    -bash: fg: %: no such job
    apples-mac-mini:~ colin$
    How do I get rid of the xcode tools cleanly?

    Thanks JJ2: That got rid of 3GB of unwanted Developer Tools nicely!
    It would be helpful to others if the 'About Dev Tools pdf'
    clearly said that to run the command in terminal you should log out as user, and log back in as Apple (admin) before using terminal.
    In addition, the text of the pdf has a percentage symbol at the start of the command line, which appears to be a typo, or plain wrong.
    To prevent this happening to others; when referencing X11.app, it should be stated exactly how to find it on the DVD. People logically expect it to be in the xcode tools folder.
    I eventually found it by inserting the Apple DVD, then typing X11.app into Spotlight.
    Carlo: Have you got rid of your xcode tools yet?
    If not, do this:
    Log out as User (Carlo) and log back in as apple (admin)
    Finder>Go>Utilities>Terminal.app
    In the small black terminal screen type at the cursor:
    sudo /Developer/Tools/uninstall-devtools.pl
    and press enter
    Give your Apple (admin) password (NB: You don't see the pw as you type), press enter, and that should cause the tools to be removed. It takes about a minute for the script to do the job, so wait for it to confirm.
    Enough geekery!
    We just want to use the thing.

  • How to use Xcode Tools with a Command Line Project

    I'm using Xcode 3.2.6, C compiler.  I've had an application for years that is command-line on the terminal, compiling with a makefile.  Now I want to actually use the performance tools included with Xcode, such as threads, time profiler, etc.  How do I do this?
    I created a project for it (never did that before), added source files, etc -- it seems to work.  It created the application, which will run via the terminal like always.  But whenver I try to use Run (inside Xcode), a window opens up saying "Stop Executable".  I have to click OK and that's the end of it.  Nothing has happened.
    I found an old query on the web similar to this from 2008.  The suggestion was to open the console.  Still nothing.  "Sync with Debugger" does no good.  Please help!

    That I understood.  I did try Run > Console.  Nothing intelligible happened.  Then I synced with the debugger.  he program is called fer64.  I get this:

    Use the "file" or "exec-file" command.

  • How to delete Xcode 4 installer

    Before downloading Xcode 4, I had 22.5GB free left on my HD, I didn't check how much I got left after I downloaded the installer, but when I deleted the installer, I only have 19.6GB left. Note, that I didn't actually install Xcode 4 - just downloaded it, and then deleted few minutes later.
    When I try to spotlight Xcode 4, nothing comes up on the list, so where is my 3GB gone?
    Has anyone had such problem?
    Please help

    It was to do with TM cache - problem solved after disabling automatic backups.

    How do I restore this tool bar?

    Your '''menu bar''' is hidden. Press F10 or Alt on you keyboard to make the menu bar temporarily appear. Then go to Tools > Toolbars and select the menu bar to make it permanently appear.

  • How do I fix a botched attempt to delete Xcode?

    Okay, So I had xcode. Then I no longer wanted it. So I planned to delete it. I did so by finding the developer folder within my HD, dragging the whole thing to the trash and then emptying it. I later found out that I should have actually run a terminal command to get rid of the whole thing. Anyway, in my attempt to delete Xcode, there are three files that simply will not delete: DTInstrumentsCP, in the folder Library>PrivateFrameworks>DTInstrumentsCP.framework, and DTMessageQueueing, in the folders Library>PrivateFrameworks>DTMessageQueueing.framework. Both of these frameworks say they are still in use, and can not be deleted because of this. Finally, the Instruments app under Developer>Applications will simply not delete, and It says to check the permissions. I did so and they are all fully open.
    Minor second question: How do I get my unwanted developer icons off launchpad, as well as another downloading copy of Xcode that can't be deleted because it's in the downloading stage?
    Answers/Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Lion is like iPad is like Lion....in LaunchPad, click once and hold on the until the icons vibrate - the ones you're allowed to delete will then show a small x in the top left corner.

  • How do I delete a tool bar

    How do I delete unwanted tool bars, not just hide them, but delete them permanently.

    Deleting third party toolbars can be a major problem, and not supplying the name of the toolbar you want to remove may cause additional work for everybody including yourself.

  • Tool Presets: how to delete or overwrite?

    I'm trying to delete a Tool Preset by name.  The usage would be something like this:
    deleteToolPreset("favTool1");
    saveToolPreset("favTool1");
    It seems easy and obvious but its not working for me:
    function deleteToolPreset(toolPresetName)
        var idDlt = charIDToTypeID( "Dlt " );
        var desc = new ActionDescriptor();
        var idnull = charIDToTypeID( "null" );
            var ref = new ActionReference();
            var idtoolPreset = stringIDToTypeID( "toolPreset" );
            ref.putName( idtoolPreset, toolPresetName );
        desc.putReference( idnull, ref );
        executeAction( idDlt, desc, DialogModes.NO );
    Photoshop doesn't seem to let you overwrite an existing preset.  You have to delete it first and it seems the only way to delete it is to first select it and then delete it.  By selecting the tool preset you want to delete, you lose the tools settings that you wanted to save in the first place.  A vicious cycle.
    Any help would be sooo much appreciated.

    Photoshop doesn't seem to let you overwrite an existing preset.
    But xtools does:
    //@show include
    //@includepath "/c/Program Files/Adobe/xtools;/Developer/xtools"
    //@include "xlib/stdlib.js"
    //@include "xlib/PresetsManager.jsx"
    var toolsMgr = PresetsManager.getManager(PresetType.TOOL_PRESETS);
    toosMgr.renameElement(oldName, newName);

    How to delete non-critical file systems from a Live Upgrade boot environment?
    Here is the situation.
    I have a Sol 10 upd 3 machine with 3 disks which I intend to upgrade to Sol 10 upd 6.
    Current layout
    Disk 0: 16 GB:

    Disk 2: 33 GB:
    /dev/dsk/c0t2d0s0 33G /data3
    The data file systems are not in use right now, and I was thinking of
    partitioning the data3 into 2 or 3 file systems and then creating
    a new BE.
    However, the system already has a BE (named s10) and that BE lists
    all of the filesystems, incl the data ones.

    file systems from the BE.
    How do I do a live upgrade on this system?
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for the tips.
    I commented out the entries in /etc/vfstab, also had to remove the files /etc/lutab and /etc/lu/ICF.1
    and then could create the Boot Environment from scratch.
    I was also able to create another boot environment and copied into it,
    but now I'm facing a different problem, error when trying to upgrade.

    which shares out the directory. I mounted it on this machine,
    did a lofiadm and mounted that at /cdrom.

    /cdrom/platform:

    # luupgrade -u -n s10u6 -s /cdrom
    ERROR: The media miniroot archive does not exist </cdrom/boot/x86.miniroot>.
    ERROR: Cannot unmount miniroot at </cdrom/Solaris_10/Tools/Boot>.I find it strange that this sparc machine is complaining about x86.miniroot.
    BTW, the machine on which the DVD image is happens to be x86 running Sol 10.
    I thought that wouldn't matter, as it is just NFS sharing a directory which has a DVD image.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks.

  • How to delete the duplicate email address in BP master data

    Hi,
    When  you get an email ids from the third party vendor and you are loading into CRM BP master data.  how to delete the duplicate email address already exits in the system.  In CRM you can create the same BP with different id.   I would like to know how to delete the email address during importing email addresses from the third party tool.
    During the campaign you are sending email to all your customers, when the customer want to unsubscibe the email address from your list, how to unsubcribe the email address and how to updat the BP master data.
    If you are sending the email to customer, you are using html or simple text, if the customer wants only html or simple text, how you to specify in the system?
    thanks,
    arul

    Hello Arul,
    welcome to the SDN CRM Development forum.
    1. I think you should clear the data with duplicate E-Mail adresses in the external tool.
    2. Unsubscription could be done by a Marketing Attribute which could be set by using a Target Group which is created by Campaign Automation. Have a look at this Toppic. There is also a Best Practice avaliable at http://help.sap.com/bp_crmv340/CRM_DE/index.htm.
    3. Also HTML or Simple text can be mained in a Marketing Attribute. You have to use different Mail Forms to which are sent to different Target groups.
    Regards
    Gregor

  • How to delete all objects in a package?

    Hello,
    I've seen a similar question here. But is there a tool or a smart way to delete all objects in a dev class or a transport request?
    Best Regards
    Volker

    These are really 3 questions??
    1. To delete objects in a request there are a number of ways, here is one:
    Position cursor on modifiable request.
    Double click on request and choose 'Objects' tab
    Choose object line you want to delete and click 'Delete'
    Save your changes.
    2. To delete objects in a Dev Class:
    Go to work bench --> edit object, Class and give your class name, you will see delete option at the bottom of the screen.
    3. How to delete all objects in a package:

  • Does any one know how to uninstall xcode 4.4 on OSX 10.7?

    Because of openframeworks, I want to swich back to xcode 4.2 not the xcode 4.4 after I accidentally upgraded it.
    I tried the /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools or deleting the xcode.app from the application folder,
    none of it works,
    everytime I tried to install xcode 4.2 I get the "a newer version is installed on this machine" message.
    Does anyone know how to deal with this,
    either fully deleting xcode 4.4 and enabling the install of xcode 4.2,
    or install xcode 4.2 in a separate folder beside xcode 4.4?
    Thanks in advance!!!!

    As I mentioned, already tried that.
    Empty trash, yes.
    Restart after empty trash, yes.
    Still get the "a newer version ..." response.

    I need to know how to delete the most recent version of Firefox. I JUST downloaded it tonight and my computer doesn't have that little edit bar to work with so I can download the proper Adobe player and my internet has been screwed up ever since I downloaded the new version of Firefox. I just want the old version of it back since I apparently can't download the Adobe stuff that is necessary to keep my computer safe from Hackers. It sure would have been nice to know there was an issue with the new Firefox Update BEFORE I uploaded it. I have Vista which is usually an issue with both Adobe and Firefox. I don't seem to be able to run much of Adobe at all on my computer because of the Vista.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

    I have also noticed all my settings won't stay set, example....I removed the check mark from "third party cookies", the when I close Firefox and reopen the check mark is back, also my tool bar has screwed up....can't reset, been having trouble the up grade.
