How to deleted unwanted printer driver?

I have recently re-installed my printer driver and would like to delete the old one.  Does anyone know how to do it?

If you mean printers in the Add-a-Printer box, you added the new one with the [+] icon, and you select the old one and press the [-] Icon to remove it.
If you mesn you downloaded new software drivers, the new one replaces the old one and no one here has ever found the old software driver to be an issue. (It is probably deleted.)

  • How to delete unwanted timezones from Calendar app on Yosemite?

I upgraded to Yosemite and one of the problems I had with Calendar App had something to do with Time Zone.
I realized that Calendar added California time as default. So now I want to delete the unwanted time zone, but cannot find a way to do so.
How does one remove or uncheck a time zone in iCal (Mountain Lion)?
I found this forum and tried, but as the last person who posted said, it doesn't work on Yosemite.
Does anyone know to delete unwanted timezones from Calendar App on Yosemite?
    Thanks.

    Thank you for your response.
However, I am not asking about how to change the timezone on Mac. I'm asking about how to delete unwanted timezones on Calendar app.
Here I have 2 Pacific Time's. They are basically the same, but sometimes my computer choses one of the other without my intention. And when it does, it keeps showing (PST) on next to the starting time which I do not want. In order to avoid that, I'd like to delete "Pacific Time (America/Los_Angeles)". From the link you provided, I'm not finding the solution to this. I might be looking at a wrong spot and if so please be patient to guide me through.
If my question still doesn't make sense, please click the link to the solution for the same problem on Mountain Lion in my original question. You might understand my question better from it.
    Thank you.

On a 5230 highlight the route you wish to delete, then hit the search bar. The keypad appears, then just press the backward pointing small white arrow on the far right hand side of the screen about half way down and it will then say "Delete selected route?"

  • How to delete unwanted TCP/IP Printer Ports

Windows 7 64bit; I have created, in error, one TCP/IP Printer Port which I would like to delete to keep the Ports clean of rubish, but I am unable to find how to do so.
    Can anyone help?
    Nevio

You get the 'port is in use' error message if the port is currently assigned to a printer. It has nothing to do with print spooler - it's just that you can't delete a port that is already assigned to a printer.
    1. When you open properties and go to the 'Ports' tab, you have your printers listed with headings - Port, Description, Printer.
    2. Identify the printer using the port that you want to delete, exit out of printer properties window and delete the printer.
    3. Right Click on any of the remaining listed printers and select 'Properties' (if there is none left then you craft create a fake printer).
    4. Click the Ports tab.
    5. Select the port and click “Delete port".
    6. Check any available port and exit out of 'properties' window.
The above will work in many cases but unfortunately not all. You may well find one of a couple of problems. One symptom is that having removed printer(s) and exited from "Devices and Printers" - if you re-enter "Devices
and Printers"  the printers have returned. Another symptom is that  Windows will not let you delete the port as described above.
There are three things I have encountered which can need fixing. One is that there are print jobs queued on the printer. If this job can be cancelled that fixes that, otherwise stop and re-start
the print spooler. the third is the "in use" message mentioned below.
The second situation is that a program - in my case foxit reader - is somehow associated with the printer you are trying to remove when you look through the full list of Ports. I had to un-install
Foxit and only re-install it after the printer situation was resolved.
Thirdly you may have to go into "Programs and Features" and un-install the software associated with the printer.

  • How to completely delete a printer driver

I can't access the "manual Feed" option in my print dialog. There isn't one. Yet, the literature says there is. And without it, I can't print on CDs—I get a paper jam error every time. So I've begun the long process of deleting the driver for that printer so I can re-load it fresh.
Problem is I can't make it go away. What little pieces do I have to trash before my computer forgets this printer exists? I've dumped the .plist files and deleted the printer from my Printer Setup Utility and have restarted. But each time I go back to the print dialog, there it is again. It's like a bad stray cat that keeps showing back up at your front door. Help!

    What brand/model is the printer?
When you trash a preference file (.plist), a new file is created when the app is activated. You may have to reload the printer driver.
Something that might work. Tape a letter size piece of paper to the back side of the CD. Then feed it into the printer. It might keep the printer from detecting an "undersize" (i.e., the CD) item & getting the error/jam message.
     Cheers, Tom

  • How to uninstall a printer driver?

In the office where I work with my Mac there's a Canon copier/scanner model iR2318. Months ago I downloaded and installed the Lion compatible drivers required that worked fine.
Yesterday (with no reason, no changes, nothing at all: just working) the printer started to refuse to print as it asked for a different paper format: A4 or Letter. Despite many attempts to specifically send print jobs in A4, which is the paper format loaded in the tray, the printer continued to refuse all prints.
Today I ended up removing the printer from the list, as it became unnecessary, and I also liked to uninstall the printer driver as well, since Canon released a newer version.
Currently, when trying to reinstall the printer, 2 drivers are displayed: UK and US. This lets me assume that those 2 drivers are still installed in my system: I wanted to remove both of them and start from scratch by reinstall the driver and he printer as the system was new.
How can I remove the driver, so that Lion won't recognize it and that I could make a clean install of the previous working printer?
Please…as a former Windows user, the most unwanted answer is "try to recover your system"!

Once deleted those files, when installing a new printer, the list of available drivers still shows the deleted ones. Are they truly available or is the list that has not been updated? And, yes: I restarted my system after deleting the driver folder.

  • How to delete a printer update for a printer I don't own anymore?

I had, at one point, an epson printer, but now I do not own it anymore, but my computer continues to try and get me to update the driver every other day. I have gone into the library and deleted the printer, I have searched through application support and haven't been able to find any more existing data from epson, so I am wondering what I am missing in order to get my Mac to stop trying to get me download an update that I don't need. How do I tell my computer that I truly don't need this driver any more?

  • How to delete/remote printer per computer?

    Hi,
    We are having a problem.
Situation : We have a Mac server on 10.6.8 tight to AD.  We have about 1000 Mac clients connected to it.  We push printers to them via that server (bonjour, IP and Windows).
Problem : when we want to remove/delete a printer from the list of available printers for a specific group, that won't work.  It's deleted on the server, it's not there anymore, but the users still has it.  I made lots of research on that, but the community is so small that I can't find an answer.  I spent lots of hours already on trying to find a solution by myself by tweaking Cups and see with a script how I'll manage that.
Question : why when we delete a printersfrom the server that action is not sent to the users.  To me, it's a bug and a good one.
The only solution right now for us when a printer needs to be remove is to go in each and every single computers.  Which is not acceptable and that's the reason why we bought a Mac Server; to have a much as we can automated and I can tell you guys that Apple left the IT admin behind on many points.  Many of the little feature that should work like : "Allow user to modify the printer list".. not working..
    Thanks for your help!

Open System Preferences > Print & Scan > Print
Select the printer on the left then click -    (minus)

  • How to delete unwanted transfer rules from the pool

    Hi experts,
I want to know how to delete the unwanted transfer rules from the pool on the right hand side of the transfer rules. I realized I don't need them. I get a warning icon with them sitting in the pool.

You can't delete it yourself.  All you can do is hide it so it doesn't appear on your purchased list, as explained here: iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.  iTunes store support may be able to do this for you if you contact them by filling out this form: https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • How to delete unwanted iphotos? (not edited originals)

How can I delete unwanted photos in iphoto? I don't care about deleting originals that I have been edited, I want to remove trash shots from my computer while working in iPhoto. So is there a way to delete photos from DB, w/o going into the finder. I can take 50 shots in 2 mintues. Until I upload in iPhoto, mess with them, I can't tell good from bad. I don't want to store all forever. Help?

    atlantalee
Always remember the golden rule. Don' make any changes to the iPhoto Library Folder - the database - in the finder. Do everything working in iPhoto.
It's hard to tell what's good and what's not until you get them into iPhoto or check in Preview.
Dealing with them in iPhoto is the easiest way to do it . Look at them right after you import. You can select multiple shots by holding down the COMMAND key while clicking on the ones you want to trash. You can also use the shift key to get rid of a bunch all in a row. Click the first to select, then click the last holding down SHIFT - that will select all in a row.
Then go to the Photo drop down menu and delete or trash the photos selected.
LN -- you posted your excellent advice while I was typing.

  • How to Delete unwanted Apps for ever?

Sometimes we download 'apps', which may turn out just duds or NOT as good and functional as we expect them to be. Then we decide to delete and though they are deleted from iPad ( 4th Gen) or iPhone, the same remain in the iTunes and show up at the time of synching under App section.  The "Remove " option works only for deleting an app available on the device but not from iTunes ( computer) apps section. How can we Delete unwanted Apps for ever?
Sometimes I wonder why Steve infused so mauch control into such mundane issues as deleting undesirable stuff? It irritates to the extent sometimes I feel, whatever is said Windows based OS is much more user friendly and truly functional...

Have you tried Control-Clicking on the offending app?
Followed by a click on Delete?
