How to deploy a struts application on weblogic

I tried to deploy the struts application on weblogic. It is not able to recognize the taglib files for jsp. I have included the .tld files.

Hi,
I have installed WebLogic 8.1.
And Created a Basic WebLogic Server Domain.
Started the server. Server is running.
When I try http://localhost:7001.
It is giving error as follows...
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
Can anybody assist me pls.
Regards
Siva

    please go through the below link which would educate what are the things involved in struts configurations and what is the appropriate way to do that
    http://struts.apache.org/1.x/userGuide/configuration.htmland the below is a sample.
    http://www.javaranch.com/journal/2002/03/listing2.htmlDon't forget to get a good eBook from internet and start reading basic MODEL 2 / MVC architecture & finally start reading struts 1.1 / 1.2.

  • Issues with Deploying Struts application on Weblogic Server 10.3.3

    We are trying to deploy a web application on Weblogic 10.3 server domain. The configuration is we have 2 physical boxes with one box running an Admin Server and one managed Server and the other box running only a Managed server. Both these servers are in one cluster. When we deploy a Struts 2 web application on this domain, it works as expected on the managed server running on the same box and Admin server. However, when we do the same action on the managed server, we get an error. In the application we are using Interceptor and the error we see in the log file is Action Interceptor Result ---exception.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated as we have been struggling with this for a few days.
    Thank you
    Sam

    Sounds to me as if you are saving the users' uploaded images somewhere in your application's directory structure - which is going to get blown away each time you redeploy. Why not store uploaded images in a database (there are blogs showing how to upload and display images to/from a DB in ADF if you don't know how). If you search {forum:id=83}, you can find them easily.

    The ServletException is just a wrapper exception which informs about an underlying failure. When interpreting stacktraces,the bottommost root cause parts is the most important part. I assume that it's just a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException on org/apache/commons/logging/LogFactory. In that case, the exception is self-explaining enough. The mentioned class is missing in the classpath. The solution is also obvious: add the mentioned class (or at least, the JAR file with the mentioned class) to the classpath and you're fine. As the package name already hints, you can download it at [http://commons.apache.org/logging].
    For future java.lang.* exceptions please consult 'New to Java' forum. This is unrelated to Java Servlet.

  • How to call a struts application in a portlet

    How to call a struts application in a portlet. I have two different ear's. In one ear I have my struts application and in one war i have a struts portlet. In the struts portlet provider.xml defaultAction tag can i call the action class .do which in other ear (ie my struts application ear).Can anyone suggest me whether this is the right way or else can u suggest me with some other thing.
    Waiting for ur responses.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Dhanu.

    Hi Dhanu,
    Your Struts Portlet will not be avialble via a URL as it is completely dependent on Oracle Portal Environment. The Provider for the Portlet is alone available via a URL - you would have registered your Portlet using the URL of the Provider.
    Your Struts application, which does not rely on the Oracle Portal Environment, is defeitely accessible from a URL. It's just another web application that uses the popular Struts Framework.
    Hence, you can use the URL ( the starting point - a JSP, Servlet, etc. ) of your Struts Application to "call" the application in your Struts Portlet. I don't think you need to fiddle with the parameters in Provider.xml.
    Moreover, <defaultAction> in Provider.xml should have the URL of a Struts Action Class - the mapping in the
    struts-config.xml should map the .do action to the right JSP file.
    You can have a look at Metalink Note : 331069.1 for a good insight into the <defaultAction> Tag.

  • How to deploy my web application .war file into SAP netweaver Engine

    Hi All,
    I want to deploy web application which is developped using JAVA web technology into SAP netweaver Engine.
    I tried to deploy .war file through SDM but it complained the following error
    "Error loading archive

    Can any one please suggest how to deploy external web application into SAP netweaver engine.
    Is there any procedure to follow to do this.
    your inputs will be highly appreciated...
    Thanks in advance
    JM

    You may need to convert the .war archive to SDA/SCA file  format before deploying it to SAP Netweaver Engine.
    Check out the below SAP NOTE if it is usefull.
    Note 1223957 - Usage of NetWeaver Packaging Tool.
    Apart from SDM you can also deploy the files through telnet...
    Note 859444 - How to deploy libraries on J2EE Engine 6.40
    1)Connect to telnet as below
    Start --> Run
    telnet hostname/ip address portno
    Ex: telnet xxx.xx.xx.x 5<Instance no>08
    2)Login with administrator id:
    Use the below command to deploy the files.
    deploy <directory path to the SDAs location> version_rule=all on_prerequisite_error=stop on_deploy_error=stop
    Example: deploy E:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in\VCBASE03_0-10006939.SCA version_rule=all on_prerequisite_error=stop on_deploy_error=stop.
    Also have a look at this note which talks about the error you are getting.

  • How to deploy the project into my weblogic Application Server?

    How do I deploy the project into my weblogic Application Server? Should it be fine if I copy the project folder to the AS root?
    Also, How should i invoke the Context sensitive help from Javascript assuming project  deployed to Weblogic AS.
    I am using Robohelp 10.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You generate the help and then you copy the generated output to the server.
    For context sensitivity, which output are you using? Try the following

  • Problem with Hot deployment of Struts application

    I used the exploded archive format to deploy a web application ( no EJB Jars etc involved). But after modifying a custom Action class and placing it in the WEB-inf\classes, I get the following exception: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.struts.action.RequestProcessor at org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet.getProcessorForModule Clearly weblogic managed to load the new Action class, and if I understand correctly it would have destroyed the old web class loader and create a new one and loaded all the classes visible to the web app class loader. But somehow it still seems to cache the RequestProcessor class.. Can some one please throw some light on this.
    PS I dont have anything in the server classpath, and there is no chance of duplicate copies anywhere in the classpath or under web-inf

    Yes, I added the line getServletContext().removeAttribute(Globals.REQUEST_PROCESSOR_KEY) in ActionServlet's destroy(). It works now.
    It was previously getting back the old class reference while doing a getAttribute(REQ....) , so was giving the classcast.
    Not sure if this is a bug in the ActionServlet, or if I am missing something.

  • How to deploy a war file on Weblogic Server 7.0??

    Hello Everyone
    I am trying to deploy a servlet on Weblogic Server 7.0 as a WAR file. Can anyone of u plz tell me the steps required to do that. I am posting this question on EJb forum and not on servlets coz this is not a servlet problem, rather this is something which is related to J2EE, ie how to deploy a war file on J2EE Server.
    This is how i have done it, but this is not working---
    (1) First i created a directory structure for the web application according to J2EE Specification.
    C:\Work\
    myServletWAR\
    META-INF\
    WEB-INF\
    classes\
    HelloServlet.class
    web.xml
    i.e within work directory, there is a dic called myServletWAR which is my application directory which contains 2 sub directories viz META-INF which contains the mainifest file being generated by the jar utility. the second directory in the myServletWAR application dir is WEB-INF, which contains one file called web.xml for servlet mapping and one directory classes which contains HelloServlet.class
    (2) I used following command for creating war file from myServletWAR director(i.e from my web application's directory).
    jar -cvf TestServletWAR.war .
    This creates the TestServletWAR.war file in myServletWAR dir.
    Here is how my Servlet and web.xml looks like...
    Servlet code
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class HelloServlet extends HttpServlet
    public void doPost ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    doGet( req, res );
    public void doGet ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    res.setContentType( "text/html" ); // Can also use "text/plain" or others.
    PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
    // Get the requestor's IP address (See JavaDocs to see how to get other info):
    String addr = req.getRemoteAddr();
    // Create output (the response):
    out.println( "<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>HelloServlet in myServletWAR</TITLE></HEAD>" );
    out.println( "<BODY><H1 ALIGN=\"CENTER\">" );

    Thanks Don.
    Can you provide me some links guding how to create a webservice on weblogic 6.1
    Don Ferguson <[email protected]> wrote:
    That's not going to work. 7.0 is a major rewrite of the web services
    container, and it is not possible to create the web service on 7.0 and
    deploy it on 6.1.

    Hi,
    I've a created a webservice , deployed and tested it on weblogic 7.0.
    I want to deploy this webservice on weblogic 6.1. Do I need to deploy
    the .ear
    file created as an application on weblogic 6.1 and no other changes?
    I tried deploying the .ear as an application on weblogic 6.1, however
    when I try
    to access the webservice from my client application I get the following
