How to deploy olap object to BIEE

hello everybody,
I had build a project use OWB,but I dont know how to deploy this object to BIEE. I only select which table or view in build the BIEE and must setup the dimension which had been setup in OWB. Could I get the dimension information to the BIEE and dont not build it again in the BIEE.
Could you give me some good advice.
thinks

OWB 10g and 11gR1 only deploy to OBISE (Discoverer), the OBIEE deployment directly from OWB is in the OWB 11gR2 release. You will have to build this model in OBIEE.
There are some interesting posts below on OBIEE and OWB developments here:

  • How to deploy OLAP Intelligence reports in Test/Prod?

    Hi,
We are on BO XI R2 SP5 integrated with SAP Netweaver BI 7.0,both
    machines on solaris servers.
We have created OLAP intelligence reports using OLAP intelligence
    connections in development environment.
We deployed these reports in Test environment using import wizard.
Both OLAP intelligence connection and OLAP intelligence reports are
deployed successfully with out any errors.
Now in test environment when I update the IP address,System details and
client number in OLAP intelligence connection, the details are not
getting updated automatically for the OLAP intelligence report which I
can verify from CMC.OLAP Report is still pointing to the development
SAP BW server details. If I manually update the server details of the
OLAP report from CMC and click on Test Button, it says connection
Failed. If I try to refresh that particular OLAP report from Infoview
then it throws an OLAP intelligence Unknown error message.
We have around 100 such reports to be deployed in test environment and
we have a Go-Live date by this Thursday. So I would sincerely request
your help on this issue for a faster resolution.
    Regards.
    Naresh.

  • How to deploy OLAP DML scripts or programs?

Once finishing developing a set of OLAP DML scripts in AWM
How can I deployed them to production environment?
Is there a command-line equivalence for OLAP worksheet?
( something like sqlplus @file, which execute
a set of commands store in file )
    Thanks
    Warren

OLAP Worksheet found within AWM is a command line interface to Oracle that you can use with Oracle Database 9.2 or later to do the following:
    * Execute most OLAP DML commands
    * Edit OLAP DML programs, formulas, aggmaps, and models
    * Execute SQL statements
To execute a saved OLAP DML program simply type the name at the bottom input pane in OLAP Worksheet and and hit the Enter key. Also, you can invoke an OLAP DML program that does not return a value by using the CALL command. Please refer to the OLAP DML Language Help found in OLAP Worksheet or the following Developer's Guide to the OLAP DML:

  • V4 - How to create OLAP objects?

I would like to start using the OLAP functionality now built in to SQL Developer. I would like to create an Analytical Workspace, Dimensions, Measures etc. The help says
    To create an analytic workspace:
In the Connectors navigator under OLAP Option, right-click Analytic Workspaces, and select New Analytic Workspace.
Complete the New Analytic Workspace dialog box and click OK.
The new analytic workspace appears under Analytic Workspaces
I am not seeing an OLAP Option. How do I access it? I do see it in the version 4EA2, but there are no functions attached to it. I do not see in the production release version 4. If it was removed from the scope of version 4, is it scheduled to be part of a future implementation?
I have (per the help) gone to the About option on the help menu and clicked on Extensions. I see the OLAP extension listed, so if I understand correctly, it should be loaded.
I am using  Windows 7 64 bit, and SQL Developer:
    Java(TM) Platform
    1.7.0_40
    Oracle IDE
    4.0.0.13.80
    Versioning Support
    4.0.0.13.80

    Hi Vin,
If you read the OLAP section in the release notes, you will see SQL Developer provides this OLAP support for Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1.0) or higher:
    SQL Developer 4.0 Release Notes&lt;/title&gt;&lt;meta name=&quot;Title&quot; content=&quot;SQL Developer 4.0 Release Not…
The OLAP Option node should appear in the Connections navigator tree for a 12c connection. You can also verify in Tools > Features > Database that the OLAP feature's box is checked.

    Gary

  • How can I transfer the meta data to the Oracle OLAP Object?

When I finished in building a simple DataWare house demo in the warehouse Builder, I got meta data. But it seems that those doesn't present in the "<Database>" - "OLAP" - "Dimension" where the Sample "SH" resides.I just want to export those metadata to the SQL script, but failing to import the script to the Database. How can I transfer my demo's meta data to the OLAP Object? It is the last step to finish the whole process and I can't solve the problem.
I'll appreciate any one who can help me.

    Hello,
To enter/move the metadata for dimensions and facts to the OLAP catalog, you need to perform the following actions:
    1) Create a business area in the OWB business tree holding the dimensions and facts you want in OLAP
    2) Perform a metadata export, using the bridge (not to file!)
    3) This will launch a wizard that will guide you through this process, follow the instructions carefully
    4) Upon completion you will see metadata added into the OLAP catalog
We will be releasing a new version for this, which will be running on 9.2.0.2 database that allows you to use all the new 9i Release 2 OLAP features. This will create Analytic Workspaces from Warehouse Builder and should be released late this year (around end of November).
    Hope this helps,
    Jean-Pierre

  • How to deploy SAP BI report to BO

    Hello,
I am a BI Consultant and a newbie to BO. I want to know how to deploy the current SAP BI queries to BO.
I have downloaded and installed SAP BOBJ Edge series 3.1(trial version). I have also downloaded the "Integration kit for SAP" but could not install it as the Product ID has expired (valid for 90 days since June 09).
Can someone guide me on the step by step procedure to deploy the BI reports to BO? I have already read about the "Step by step installation guide to integrate BO with SAP" but not sure on how to deploy the reports.
    Thanks

  • [Forum FAQ] How to deploy applications remotely

In some situations, we may need some ways to install applications remotely, here we summarize four general ways to deploy applications.
    1. Using PowerShell to install
We can use the Win32_Product class to install Windows Installer packages, remotely or locally, so in this way, we can use powerShell command to invoke this function. For example, to install the NewPackage.msi package located in the network
share \\AppServ\remote on the remote computer PC01, type the following command at the Windows PowerShell prompt:
    (Get-WMIObject -ComputerName PC01 -List | Where-Object -FilterScript {$_.Name -eq "Win32_Product"}).Install(\\AppSrv\remote\NewPackage.msi)
In same method, we can use the following command to deploy .exe application:
    (Get-WMIObject -ComputerName PC01 -List | Where-Object -FilterScript {$_.Name -eq "Win32_Process"}).Create(\\AppSrv\remote\NewPackage.exe)
Note: The applications should use Windows Installer technology.
    2. PsExec tool: one of sysinternals utilities
PsExec's most powerful uses include launching interactive command-prompts on remote systems and remote-enabling tools like IpConfig that otherwise do not have the ability to show information about remote systems. So, we can use this feature to install our
applications, in fact this is similar with PowerShell methods, the only difference is that PsExec is a comprehensive tool. Similarly, we can use the following command to achieve our goal:
    psexec \\PC01  cmd /c  "\\AppSrv\remote\NewPackage.msi" /quiet /norestart
Note: we can also use PsExec tool to install Microsoft Update file (.msu)
    psexec \\PC01  -s -h -d wusa.exe  "\\AppSrv\remote\NewPackage.msu" /quiet /norestart
    3. Group Policy Software Installation
In domain environment, this method is very useful to deploy our software. It only supports MSI package for deployment.
We can choose assign a program to user or computer. If you assign the program to a user, it is installed when the user logs on to the computer. When the user first runs the program, the installation is completed. If you assign the program to a computer,
it is installed when the computer starts, and it is available to all users who log on to the computer. When a user first runs the program, the installation is completed.
You can get the installation information of group policy software installation in event viewer, including success or failure.
    4. System Center Configuration Manger
The Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager software distribution feature provides a set of tools and resources that help you create and manage packages and advertisements used to distribute software to client resources within your enterprise. This
is a comprehensive suit for deployment.
How to Deploy Applications in Configuration Manager
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682082.aspx
    Summary:
There are a lot of methods for software deployment, here just introduce some generic ways.
Here is another important point of software deployment: Some applications do not use windows installer technology.
Applications that do not use Windows Installer technology may have application-specific methods for automated deployment. For example, a .exe file may be just a wrapper, it can be anything. To determine whether there is a method for deployment automation,
check the documentation for the application or consult the application vendor's support system. In some cases, even if the application vendor did not specifically design the application for installation automation, the installer software manufacturer may have
    some techniques for automation.

    Hi All,
I am going to deploy an Application developed using Jdev 11g (11.1.1.3) which has three projects

    Dear Frank,
I was deploying from Jdeveloper (as described in Hello World tutorial) where we need to specify an EAR file name and also include the taskflow (Also the view controller in this case) project.
The model project is referenced from view controller as a project dependency.
Thanks a lot for your reply.
    War regards,
    Sam

  • How to deploy application created in SAP MI 7.1 on Mobile Device.

    Hi Friends,
I have developed a m employee application in SAP MI 7.1 through Netweaver Developer Studio running succesfully on mobile simulater.
I have also successfuly Installed SAP MI Client 7.1 on my mobile device.
Now I am struggling with how to deploy my application on mobile device.
Is there any way that I can simply copy the working project files from developer studio and paste them in Mobile Device to make the application work on mobile device as well.
or is there any other method to do this .
    Please Suggest.
    Regards
    Nitesh.

    <pre>
    Hi Amit
    Firstly I created the
    1. Employee_sc Service in the Service Explorer
    2. Employee_UI in the handheld UI explorer.<
    3. Emplyee_app in the 'Applicaton Explorer' where I included both the service and the UI together.
Then I deployed all three in the default Mi location and tested in the simulater . It works fine in simulater.
In the First View of my application I am not displaying any data from the DOE.
In the first View I just have the butons to create, search and delete employee details.
In my whole application I am not using any data objects from the backend. The dataobjects are creted in the frontend (NWDS) only.
Now Instead of AWT I Installed JSP Container. It is now Showing The employee application.
But as soon as I click the application it gives the execption.

How to Migrate the Objects( Infocubes,DSO,Datasources,Rules...etc...) from 3.1C to BI 7.0
Please help me to doing this....
    regards,
    anil

BW Upgrade tasks (BW 3.1C to BI 7.0)
    Prepare Phase:
    Task     How-To     Who
Review BI 7.0 feature lists     Review BI 7.0 feature lists for possible inclusion in developments.     Basis/BW
Obtain the BI 7.0 upgrade guide     Download the upgrade guide from http://service.sap.com/inst-guides -> SAP NetWeaver -> Upgrade
         Basis/BW
Review all upgrade SAP notes     In addition to the upgrade guide, check, download, and review all SAP notes for your upgrade
         BI 7.0 Upgrade notes
     SAP Web Application Server 6.40 upgrade notes
     OS and DB specific upgrade notes
     SAP BW Add-on upgrade notes
    (e.g. SAP SEM, ST-PI, etc)
         Plug-In upgrade SAP notes
     Other notes identified in above notes and/or upgrade guides.
         Basis/BW
Check DB and OS requirements for the target SAP BW release     Check DB version/patch level and OS version/patch level required for upgrade
     First check the most current information from the SAP BW homepage http://Service.sap.com/BW  -> <SAP BW release> -> Availability
     Additionally, the u201CPlatformsu201D link will take you to the main DB/OS page for BI 7.0 and SAP Web AS 6.40.
     Note: In some cases there are differing requirements for SAP BW 3.0B/SAP BW 3.1 Content and BI 7.0
         Basis
Check SAP BW Add-on upgrade requirements     Do you have SAP BW add-ons installed that require additional handling (e.g. SAP SEM, Enterprise Portal Plug-in, etc)?
     SAP SEM (SAP BW based components) requires SAP SEM 4.0 which is part of the mySAP ERP 2004 suite.
     WP-PI release must be at 6.00 before the upgrade begins. As mentioned before this add-on is merged with PI_Basis after the upgrade.
         Basis
Check SAP BW upgrade requirements          Minimum Support Package and kernel levels for upgrade
     SAP BW Frontend requirements for new SAPGUI, SAP BW BEx Frontend and SAP BW Web applications.
     Source system Plug-In requirements     Basis
Check compatibility requirements with 3rd party software          3rd Party Reporting tools (example: Crystal)
     ETL Tools (example:  Ascential, DataStage, etc)
     Scheduling tools (example. Control-M, Maestro, etc)
     Monitoring tools (example: HP OpenView, Patrol, etc)
     Other OS or DB related tools     Basis
Check new component requirements for BI 7.0          If SAP BW web reports were developed in SAP BW 2.x, a windows version of IGS 6.40 (Internet Graphics Service) is required for conversion and future rendering of web graphics (i.e. Charts and GIS Maps).
The IGS chart migration will also be required after the SAP BW web report conversion.
     If you used or activated any SAP BW Web Applications in SAP BW 3.x, or if you have used charts in SAP BW 2.x web reports, you will need a windows version of IGS 6.40 (Internet Graphics Service) to execute the IGS chart migration after the upgrade.
     If ESRI GIS software is in use, a different version of ESRI software maybe required for BI 7.0.  (ArcView 8.2?).
     If you plan to use Information Broadcasting, please review the requirement for additional infrastructure components such as EP, KMC, Workbook pre-calculation service, and Web AS connectivity to your mail servers.
Detailed information is available in the SAP NetWeaver u201904 master planning guide (http://service.sap.com/instguides  -> SAP NetWeaver).
         Basis
Test and distribute new SAP BW Frontend
     Install and test the new BI 7.0 Frontend (including the new version of SAPGUI for Windows if applicable).
     A detailed FAQ on the new BI 7.0 Frontend is available on the SAP service marketplace alias BWFAQ (http://service.sap.com/BWFAQ).
     After successful testing, the new SAPGUI for Windows and SAP BW Frontend can be distributed to the BW teams and end users.
         Basis
    Alpha Conversion:
Ensure that your InfoObject data is consistent from a u201Cconversionu201D perspective (Alpha Converter tool)      Check that you have executed the Alpha Converter tool to check the consistency of your InfoObject definitions and data for InfoObjects that utilize the ALPHA, NUMCV and GJAHR conversion exits.
Note: The Alpha conversion is not part of the SAP BW upgrade itself, but the upgrade simply checks to ensure you have successfully executed the check tool.
    Transaction RSMDCNVEXIT
    Check the system status:
     u201CAll Characteristics Have Correct Internal Valuesu201D: The Alpha converter has been successful executed. The upgrade preparation can continue.
         u201CNo Check yet/Inconsistent Internal Vales existu201D:
The Alpha converter check has not been executed.
         u201CCharacteristics have Inconsistent Internal Valuesu201D:
The Alpha converter tool check has been executed and data problems have been detected. The InfoObject and data must be processed before the upgrade can be started.
         BW
Upgrade SAP Note updates     Check for newer versions of your SAP notes for the Upgrade.
Tip: The SAP service marketplace offers an option to subscribe to OSS notes so you can be notified of changes when you log on.
         Basis/BW
Confirm SAP BW support package, kernel and DB/OS configuration     Analyze current Support Package and DB/OS/Kernel configurations in your SAP BW landscape in relation to the SAP BW 3.x upgrade requirements.
     Apply necessary support packages, kernel patches, and DB and OS patches to meet upgrade requirements
         Basis
Alignment of SAP BW objects within your SAP BW system landscape     Check and, where required, re-align SAP BW Objects and developments in your SAP BW system landscape (Development, Quality Assurance and Production).
SAP BW Object differences can impact the quality of testing in the Development and Test environment and can lead to change management issues.
     This check is to minimize risk and ensure productive objects are being tested prior to the Production upgrade.
Where alignment issues exist and realignment is not possible, alternative testing plans should be devised.
         Basis/BW
Confirm all developments are deployed.     Ensure that all SAP BW developments are deployed or they are to be re-developed/tested after the upgrade.
     In the DEV system, all SAP BW development transports should be released (i.e. transport created and released) and imported to all downstream systems (i.e. QAS and PRD systems).
For SAP BW developments not already collected in the transport collector, a decision must be made:
Deploy the developments or wait until the upgrade has completed to deploy.
o     Development to be deployed should be collected, released, and imported into the QAS and PRD systems.
o     Developments that should be deployed after the upgrade should be re-tested/re-developed after the upgrade.
     In the QAS or PRD systems, ensure that all SAP BW development transports have been imported prior to the upgrade.
         BW
Implement BI 7.0 Business Explorer Frontend     Install, evaluate, test and distribute the new BI 7.0 Business Explorer Frontend.
         Basis/BW
    Pre-upgrade Process:
Download required BI 7.0 support package Stack for inclusion in the upgrade     Determine the equivalent support package level of the source SAP BW release and the target SAP BW release.
     There is a minimum requirement that you upgrade to at least the equivalent support package level on the target SAP BW release so that you do not lose functionality, corrections, and data.
     It is recommended to upgrade to the latest version of all support packages during the upgrade via the upgradeu2019s support package binding functionality.
     BI 7.0 Support Packages are delivered via SAP NetWeaver u201904 Support Package stacks (SP-Stacks). It is not recommended to partially apply some of the SP-Stacksu2019 individual support packages. You should apply all of the SP-Stacks support packages at once.
For more information on the SP-Stacks and SAP NetWeaver SP-Stacks, please see the SAP service marketplace alias SP-Stacks (http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks)
     You should also review, download, and bind in support packages for all add-on components that are installed on SAP BW and will be upgraded during the SAP BW upgrade (e.g. SEM-BW, ST-PI, etc)
         Basis
Apply latest Support Package tool patch     Apply latest SPAM patch before executing PREPARE     Basis
Validate the SAP BW (ABAP) Data Dictionary and the Database Data Dictionary for consistency     Check Database consistency
         Transaction DB02:
o     Execute ABAP SAP_UPDATE_DBDIFF and re-execute DB02 check. This gives a truer view of the SAP BW objects in DB02.
o     Check missing database objects (indices, tables, etc)
o     Missing indices may identify erred data loads or process problems
Tip: Missing indices on InfoCubes can be restored by RSRV or ABAP SAP_INFOCUBE_INDEXES_REPAIR
Note: check for running data loads before executing a repair!
    o     Check DDIC/DB consistency
     Verify database objects and consistency
(e.g. SAPDBA check for offline data files)
         BW
Remove unnecessary SAP BW temporary database objects     Delete all SAP BW temporary database objects:
     Execute routine housekeeping ABAP SAP_DROP_TMPTABLES.
     This reduces the numbers of database objects that need to be copied during the upgrade.
     Note: take care not to delete objects that are in use as this will cause queries, compressions, etc to terminate.
         BW
Validate your SAP BW Objects for correctness prior to your upgrade     Using the SAP BW Analysis Tool (transaction RSRV), perform extensive tests on all important SAP BW Objects to ensure their correctness prior to the upgrade.
Note: this test should be repeatable so you can re-validate after the upgrade!
     Ensure that any inconsistencies are identified and corrected
     RSRV has a number of extensive tests and if all checks are executed will consume a large amount of time. Multiple tests can be performed in parallel.
     Tip: Some corrections in development can be deployed to other systems via transport in advance of the next upgrade.
         BW
Ensure DB Statistics are up to date prior to the upgrade          Check DB statistics for all tables.
Tables without statistics, especially system tables, can seriously impact upgrade runtimes.
     Check DB statistics for missing Indexes for InfoCubes and Aggregates
o     User transaction RSRV to check      BW
Check SAP BW Support Package status     Check the status of all support packages (via transaction SPAM)
     Ensure the Support Package queue is empty
     Confirm all applied Support Packages     Basis
Check all u2018Repairsu2019     Check for unreleased repair transports
         Release all unreleased transports
In your QAS and PRD system, check if all repair transports have been imported (i.e. systems are aligned)
     Import missing repair transports into down stream systems. This will avoid differing message and/or errors during the upgrade.
         BW
Check InfoObject status          Check for revised (modified) InfoObjects that have not been activated.
All InfoObjects should be active or saved (not activate):
    o     Check all inactive InfoObjects:
    Transaction RSD1 (Edit InfoObjects),
click on u201CAll InfoObjectsu201D radio button and click the u201CDisplayu201D button.
Modified InfoObjects are denoted by yellow triangles!
o     Determine if revision should be activated or removed.
         'Reorgu2019 or u2018Repairu2019 all InfoObjects
This checks and repairs any discrepancies in the InfoObject definition and structures. It is common to have obsolete DDIC and table entries for InfoObjects after multiple upgrades and definition changes. These obsolete entries normally do not effect normal SAP BW operations.
     Transaction RSD1 (Edit InfoObjects), Select u201CExecute Repairu201D or u201CExecute Reorgu201D Use expert mode for selective executions.
         BW
All ODS data loads must be activated.          Activate all inactivated ODS Object requests.
All ODS u2018Mu2019 tables must be emptied prior to the upgrade as a new activate process is implemented
o     Inactivated ODS request can be located via the Admin workbench -> u2018Monitoringu201D button -> u2018ODS Status Overviewu201D
         BW
All Transfer and Update rules should be active          Check for inactive Update and Transfer Rules
o     All update rules and transfer rules should be active or deleted.
o     Look into the table RSUPDINFO for update rules and search for the version "not equal" to "A". Likewise use the table RSTS for Transfer rules/structure.     BW
All InfoCubes should be active          Check for inactive InfoCubes and Aggregates (Aggregates are InfoCubes too!)
o     All InfoCubes should be activated or deleted.
o     Execute ABAP RSUPGRCHECK to locate any inactive InfoCubes. See SAP note 449160.
         BW
All Web Report objects should be consistent prior the upgrade.          Check the consistency of your SAP BW web objects (web reports, web templates, URLs, roles, etc). All objects should be consistent prior to web object conversion after the upgrade. It is recommended to ensure consistency before the upgrade.
o     For Original release SAP BW 3.x:
A SAP BW web reporting objects check can be executed via a new check in RSRV. This is provided via a SAP BW support package.
Please see SAP note 484519 for details.
         BW
Backup your system before starting PREPARE     Before execution PREPARE, perform a full database backup (including File system). Ensure you can recover to the point in time before PREPARE was executed.
         Database admin
Address any instructions/errors generated by PREPARE          Address any issues listed in log files Checks. Log generated by PREPARE.
o     Repeat PREPARE until all checks are successful.     Basis
Complete any Logistic V3 data extractions and suspend V3 collection processes          Extract and empty Logistics V3 extractor queues on SAP R/3 source systems.
o     The V3 extraction delta queues must be emptied prior to the upgrade to avoid any possible data loss. V3 collector jobs should be suspended for the duration of the upgrade.
They can be rescheduled after re-activation of the source systems upon completion of the upgrade.
     Note: If you perform any data loads after executing PREPARE, re-check the status of all delta queues in SAP BW and the source systems(s).
         BW
Complete any data mart data extractions and suspend any data mart extractors          Load and Empty all Data mart Delta Queues in SAP BW. (e.g. for all export DataSources)
o     The SAP BW Service SAPI, which is used for internal and u2018BW to BWu2019 data mart extraction, is upgraded during the SAP BW upgrade. Therefore, the delta queues must be emptied prior to the upgrade to avoid any possibility of data loss.

  • How to deploy web service as part of console.war

    Hello,
I need to expose the deploy functionality of bpel console as web service. I see that there is a JSP page which pretty much does the same thing in console.war. So I know what my Java class is going to look like the problem is I am very new to OC4J so I don't know how to deploy it as web service on this container. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I tried going through the tutorial on deploying web services on OC4J but the sample stateless class does not compile because it cannot find some proxy classes. Also next I copied ws_example.ear in 'D:\OraBPEL_1\bpel\system\appserver\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications' and restarted server but it is not deployed.
    Thank you,
    Meghana

Thank you for replying to my post.
The requirement is that we deploy BPEL suitcase remotely. My impression was that one can get handle to the Locator object only if running on local machine so I was looking at how to create web service on Oracle BPEL PM itself that will accept the stream of jar and deploy it locally.
However now looking at this tutorial and the Java docs, I know it supports RMI calls. So I can use this constructor to get Locator instance -
    public Locator(java.lang.String domainId,
    java.lang.String password,
    java.util.Hashtable pInitialContextProperties)
    throws ServerException
Can you let me know sample initial context properties? I checked the sample InvokingProcesses' context.properties
    orabpel.platform=oc4j_10g
    java.naming.factory.initial=com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
    java.naming.provider.url=ormi://ca-guru/orabpel
    java.naming.security.principal=default
    java.naming.security.credentials=welcome1
My guess is I have to change that url but I don't know where to point it. Also could you please let me know what are the jars I will need on the client side?
Thank you. I appreciate your help.

  • How to create OLAP Catalog Metadata from Analytic Workspace

    Hi,
How to create OLAP Catalog Metadata objects automatically from Analytic Workspace, not using CWM2_OLAP_AW_OBJECT package.
    Is there tool for it?

Analytic Workspace Manager is the supported tool from Oracle for creating OLAP catalog metadata (plus the SQL views required for BI Beans). Hopefully this should be out in June as an additional download following the 9.2.0.3x patch.
However you might want to look at IAF Software's "Coaster" product (http://www.iafsoft.com/products/coaster.htm) which also contains functionality to create the OLAP Catalog. We've had a play around with it and have been impressed.

  • How to deploy OA-Framework files with ACMP 4.0 into $OA_JAVA?

    Hello All,
this time I need your help. I am trying to package an OA-Framework patch with some custom objects in it. I have also AM.xml and VO.xml files as usual.
When I choose the default xml file type within Customization Manager Package definition, I am getting this file deployed to XX_TOP. The other type alternatives are not relevant for OAF at all.
    How to deploy to $OA_JAVA?
Has someone solved this topic already?
    Kr, Volker

    Hi Junaid,
It would be helpful to others trying to do the same if you would post the error messages you are getting here. Then we can work through it so others can see the resolution.
If the dep guide does not work for you then I'm sure the JSF team would like to know that too and make sure to update it so that it will work better for others in the future.

  • How to install OLAP Intelligence and Test

    Hi,
IN XIR2,  I want to work on OLAP Intelligence. I have uploaded the Key.
Please advise me How to enable OLAP Intelligence and hwo to work.
I have not found any OLAP Connection section in CMC.
Developer sent a OLAP report, and uploaded to BO Environment. now it is showing connection filed..
Please steps to fallow, enable the OLAP Intelligence in currently running BOXIR2 Env, and how to test whetehr OLAP is working or not.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hi,
OLAP Intelligence does not manage its connections in the CMC. You can create an OLAP Intelligence connection by going to InfoView and clicking on the New menu. You should see two OLAP Intelligence related items. One called 'OLAP Intelligence Report' and another called 'OLAP Intelligence Connection'.
In order to use OLAP Intelligence through InfoView you need to have your third party OLAP connectivity components installed in the same maching as the web application server that is hosting InfoView. To test which connectivity you have installed and set up correctly you can click on the 'OLAP Intelligence Connection' option under the New button described above. One the new connection page you should see a drop down list of available OLAP providers. You will always see connectivity options for Hyperion Essbase and IBM DB2 OLAP regardless of whether you have set this connectivity up. If you don't see a connection for Microsoft Analysis Services you will need to install the Analysis Services client connectivity on your web application server machine. If you don't see SAP BW connectivity you need to install something like the SAP GUI that will place librfc32.dll on the path and you will have to install the Business Objects SAP Integration kit.
If you see your connectivity available, you can test whether you can reach the OLAP server by creating a connection. Use the same OLAP server pointed to by the report that you uploaded.
If you are able to creat and test succesfully a connection, can you post what error message you were seeing when you tried to access the published file?
