  • How to create variables in Bex query

    Hi all,
can anyone please explain how to create the variables and how many types of variables in Bex Query.
    Thanks in advance
    James

    Hi James,
You can create variables in the BEx Query by right clicking on your characteristic and then selecting Restrict. A pop up window will appear. On the left side of the pop-up window, right click on a white space and then select New Variable. The Variable Wizard will then appear - you can now create your variable acording to your specifications. For more info on variables, please click on the link below:

  • How to add "%" symobl in Bex query?

    Hello All,
In a Bex query, there is one structure with 3 elements as Rows. I have to show the resultant values in a specified format...
in the first row, the values are to be suffixed with character "K" and the remaining 2 rows values are suffixed with "%". I will use this query in a webtemplate. Is there any funcationality in Bex to perform my requirement?
    Regards,
    Ravi

This can be done using the table interface for web applications. Using this you will be able to manipulate the cells in a web report.
See the attached documentation on this.

  • How to transport a simple BEX query ?

    Hi guys
We have a new BI system. And i am trying to transport a Query from DEV to QA. I believe transporting query is slightly different from transporting other BI Objects like cube DTP etc..
Can some one tell me how to do this? right now i goto the "Transport Connection" in RSA1 and try to find my query but i cant find my info provider in there, queries show under the info providers, and hence i cant collect my query.
Its a custom infoprovider. and starts with a "Z..."
    Regards
    Adnan

    Hi Adnan,
Goto RSA1---> Transport Connection, after that on left hand side pane click on Object Type.
Once the list is displayed in middle pane, you have to expand "Query Element" tree and expand "Query" option and click on select object.
Give name of your query in search option and the query will be displayed. Select the query and click on transfer.
Now in the extreme right hand side area you will see the query , now you will have to select the main query and once you expand the tree you will see all the dependent objects, including your infoProviders.
If your infoProvider is already transported you don't need to select the check box. But for query elements I will recommand you to select all the objects.
And the final step is to click on "Bus", transport button and all the objects will be written to Transport Request.
Rest of the process is similar to general transport.
    Regards,
    Durgesh.

  • How to design Label and Inputfield in 1 row?

    Hi,
I want to design 1 Label and 1 Inputfield in 1 row in a Web Dynpro View.
The RootUIElementContainer is assigned MatrixLayout and the Labels and InputField are assinged in it.
But all are appearing in a single row as:
    Label1:     Inputfield1                  Label2:             Inputfield2
    Regards
    Neha Singh

    Hi Neha,
If your requirement is to have specified number of columns in a row then its better to go with GridLayOut.
For example Your requirement is to have 4 columns per row, then you can set the no of columns as 4 but now in 3rd row you want 2 columns only i.e one lable and one input field, in this case right click on input field-> properties then change the colspan to 3. This way you can achive two UI elements in four columns only.
Similarly you can have any number of UI elements in one row based on no of columns.
if you require more information i can help you.
    Regards
    Narendra

  • Subject: Where are SAP Exit Variables and how to use them in Bex Query

I have seen references to variables:  0cyear (Current Year), 0CALYEAR (current year), oCALMONTH (Current month/year).
Under 0CALMONTH characteristic or 0CALYEAR I do not see any of the variables, so how does
one use these variable in the query. For example I want to create a restricted key figure:  Duration restricted by Current calendar year (e.g.  2009 if I am in 2009, 2010 if I am in 2010..).

Thanks a lot. Actally, I was looking in my production system and under varaiables I did not find any SAP Exit variables,
but in development envrionment I do see some.
Why will it not show me these variables in production? Is it because:
    1. Some special premssion is required to view this type of variable
    or
    2. THese varaiables were not installed from Business Content
It is hard for me to beleive, it is permission issue.

  • HELP! How to make RRI from BEX query into Workbook with one report???

How to make RRI from query into Workbook???

    Hi Alex,
A workbook is a set format of queries, so when you try to jump to another query , you will definitely open another session and hence another excel file. This is the same for web templates also though you have an option of opening the new result in the same window.
You would have to use some macros and open the query on the same page. A RRI is a query jump and not a drill down . A drill down would be getting more of the dimensions into the query.

  • How to calculate Age in BEx query

    Hi,
I need to calculate age in years based on person's date of birth and the key date that user of the report will enter.
So, basically in my query I already have date of birth characteristic from 0PERSON InfoObject. I created ZAGE key figure and added it to the query that I would like to populate with person's age.
So I know I have to enter some code in CMOD for calculated key figure ZAGE to get calculated based on birthdate and key date that user enters. Can somebody help with the code?
    thanks

    Hi,
The variable should be in "Date" dimension. I have missed one important information in earlier mail.
The processing type of the variable (user entry date) should be of "Customer Exit' and dimension (in last tab) should be "Date".
By selecting this dimension, the variable input help screen also appears in calendar format to help user to select date instead of writing it in variable input.
No need to write any custom code for this variable. We are selecting the "Customer exit" processing type to get Date dimension. In Normal user entry variables we can't get date & time dimension.
"Ready for Input" should be selected so that user can enter date.
I hope you can solve your issue now.
    Thanks for your feedback.

  • How to remove Decimals in Quantity Objects in SAP BO Explorer View created on top SAP Bex Query?

    Hi,
I created SAP BO Explorer report on top of SAP BEx Query.
In SAP BEx Query, Decimals were hided but when i created OLAP Universe on top that SAP BEx Query and Created Index on top of Information Space in SAP BO Explorer and then created Exploration Views. But i'm getting Decimals in my Exploration Views where as SAP BEx Query in RSRT, no decimals were appearing.
Can anyone suggest me how to remove decimals in SAP BO Exploration Views.

    Hi Ramana,
I am not use how you connect to SAP BEx query (Via universe or BWA or HANA)
What I could say is BWA and HANA, you cannot adjust this
For universe, you could try in universe layer, there is note about this
For BWA and HANA, this function might be enhanced but you 'd better raise OSS to SAP to check with them
    Best regards
    Alex yang
