  • Flash Video Encoder conflict with Safari for Windows

I installed Safari for Windows (AMD/Windows XP) without the
options (no Bonjour) and found that it disabled Adobe Flash Video
Encoder (tries to reinstall, can't find msi, can't reinstall from
disk, 1 keeps asking for disk 1). Uninstalled Quicktime, didn't
help. Uninstalled Safari, rebooted, still can't get Flash Encoder
    working.

    timtro;
Many (myself included)won't be installing safari/win until
    the final
release, and I suspect Adobe won't test much until then
    either, so it's
probably best to report this to apple as a possible bug with
    their
    beta. -Tom Unger

  • Flash Video Encoder for WMV - DW8 vs CS5

    Hi,
I'm trying to convert a WMV file into Flash.  I know that this can be done using DW8's Flash Video Encoder ....but it seems this function is no longer availabe in CS5.
I would be grateful if someone confirm that this understanding is true.
    Many thanks

I think this is true. I'm using MacVide VideoFlash converter now. It has trial

  • Accessing Flash Video Encoder Programmatically

At the moment I am working on a batch program that will take
video files, and /encode them into FLVs. I would like to do this in
a programmatic (command line way), so that I can can embed this
    into a nightly batch process.
Can the Flash Video Encoder support this need?

As far as I know about FFMPEG, it does not encode using on2
vp6, which is the superior codec for flv. I too am looking for a
programmatic way of transcoding to flash using the on2 vp6 codec.
on2 has the Flix Engine SDK, which is quite expensive, but it
allows you to programmatically transcode using vp6.
If there is another product out there that can do this (at a
non-expensive cost) I would love to hear about it.

  • Flash Video Encoder Version Update

I have version 1.0 of the Flash Video Encoder. This came
bundled with Adobe Web Bundle (Macromedia Studio 8 - including
Flash Professional 8 and Adobe Creative Suite 2). I need version
1.2 or above in order to include metadata so my .flv files will
play in Captivate and on web pages. How can I get an upgrade of the
    Encoder?

You are mistaken about that I think. There is a Flash Video
Exporter for MX 04 that can go up to version 1.2. The Flash Video
Encoder that comes with Flash Pro 8 only goes to 1.0.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flash/mx2004/readme/fmxpro2004_video.html
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/flashpro/productinfo/encoder/
So, does Captivate say it needs V1.2 of the Exporter or the
    Encoder? I don't have Flash MX04 so I don't know the
    difference.

  • Flash video encoder slow

I'm trying to convert a 4.5 minute *.avi to *.flv and am
having some difficulty. Flash Video Encoder says I have about 15.5
hours remaining (am 0.5 hours into the process). That seems wholly
unreasonable given the fact that it took me all of maybe 5 minutes
to save it as an XviD-encoded *.avi with VirtualDub...
Any ideas as to how I can speed this up?

I'm having a similar problem - but my issue has to do with
why the time to encode on my Mac Pro is slower than on my
    associate's Power Mac G5.
I'm using the Flash 8 Video Encoder to convert .mov files to
flv files on a group license. On my station I have the following:
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: Mac Pro
    Model Identifier: MacPro1,1
    Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 2
    Total Number Of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
    Memory: 12 GB
    Bus Speed: 1.33 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: MP11.005C.B08
    SMC Version: 1.7f10
I've got 151 GB available on my system drive.
Presently, it is taking me approximately 2 hours 45 minutes
to convert a 6 minute 26 sec mov to a flv with custom settings of:
    Max Date Rate: 300 kbps
    Frame Rate: Same as Source
Audio Data Rate: 48 kbps (mono)
    500 x 333 pixels.
HOWEVER, on an associate's computer he is able to convert
under the same specs, same files, etc. in 1 hour 40 minutes.
    His computer specs are:
    Power Mac G5
    Processor Speed - 2.3 GHz
    2-CPU's
    L2 Cache - 1 mb per CPU
    Memory - 16 GB
    Bus Speed 1.15 GHz
My computer has much more powerful processor, so we're
confused why it's taking longer on my computer.
I also have a second internal drive but presently the
programs and source file are on my system HD. Someone suggested
that I should try to make sure that the Video Encoder has max RAM
allocated to it as well as having the scratch disk and cache set to
the second internal drive. I don't know how to do this or even if
it's possible but looking for advice and suggestions on how to
better optimize the Video Encoder and would appreciate any help
    with this ASAP.
    Thanks!

  • CS3 Flash Video Encoder no sound

I have been using the Macromedia Flash FLV encoder for a very
long time, but now that I have upgraded to the CS3 Flash Video
Encoder the video gets encoded but the audio is always missing.
All my settings are the same as they always were and when I
encode an AVI to FLV the audio is missing. How do I fix
    this?

I to am having the same problem with the flash encoder. Added
a wmv file and a mov file to the queue and I get the same results.
I do however see the first frame of the movies. Cannot set in and
out points because the first frame displays while scrubbing.
    Model Name: MacBook Pro
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
    Memory: 4 GB
Adobe suite CS3 - all updated.

  • Flash Video Encoder - Sizing Video

    Hello
I have an uncompressed video at 720x486. I need to encode it
to Flash video at 640x480. When I import it into Flash Video
Encoder, I use the custom settings to output a 640x480 movie at
    30fps and 550kbps using the VP6 codec.
Flash video outputs a 720x486 movie.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    ---------------------S

I've never had a problem with videos not being resized... and
    many times
I've made video thumbnails. How are you determining the
    output is incorrect
anyway? I'd guess it is your method that is wrong - if the
    encoder did not
resize properly this question would come up daily...and it
    doesn't.

  • Compressing for flash video setting

Anyone out there building content for flash video? I have a client who is shooting all their footage on a sony HD cam. All footage comes to me as 1080i60. They have requested all content be converted or embedded into flash at a 400X300 canvas size.
I have tried some differant setting but most comes up somewhat pixilated. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Maybe this is helpful: Flash 8 Pro comes with a Flash 8 Video Encoder. It automatically converts Quicktime files into a .flv flash video file WITH a .swf AND a playback skin.
The cool thing about this is how Flash then plays this back as a "progressive download," therefore less waiting time for it to start playback and smoother playback and very nice quality.
I have a sample of this at size 540x400, larger than I have made in the past with other programs, just to see how it would look. I'm still playing with the dimensions. Thinking of making it smaller, actually; but the quality really holds up, I thought. http://web.mac.com/bfkproductions/HomeOne/PowWowSample.html

  • Flash Video Encoding

I'm doing research to find all means of encoding Flash Video.
    Currently I have:
    1. Sorenson Squeeze
    2. FlixPro
    3. FlixExporter
    4. Macromedia Flash Video Encoder (Flash 8)
    5. Adobe Flash Video Encoder (Flash CS3)
Ideally I am looking for any app that can encode alpha
channels, manage cuepoints, and do batch processing, although if
there is a flash video encoder you use not on the list, please add
    it.
So far Sorenson is best for Project management and
FlixPro/Exporter is best for quality/file size.
The two need to get married and have a kid.
    Thanks

I don't know how good it is, but Riva flv encoder will
    convert AVI,

Flash Video Encoder. But throughout the Adobe web site, I can not

  • How come when I view flash videos my videos stop, but the audio plays  and I see rainbow colored lines up and down the video.

How come when I view flash videos my videos stop, but the audio plays  and I see rainbow colored lines up and down the video. I attached a image below.

ATR, just to make sure you understand me, all my video clips in my folders appear as the first frame of the video clip when I view my folders as (small, medium, large)icons instead of lists, when saved as .avi files but when saved as .mp4 files, those icons display as a graphic icon of filmstrip with a musical note on it. I do have various other methods to open with (quick time, windows media, winamp or real player) but prefer real player because I like it's quick and easy trimmer that comes along with it, since so many of my videos are just pet antics where you need to clip off the boring beginning and ends of the video.
I did go on a few of the icons and right clicked, Open With, and tried quick time and also Windows Media and it did nothing as far as how the file was saved for display, and they opened the same no matter which player I used...the actual video opens and plays right at it's first frame... but it's the way it is visually displayed in STORAGE that bugs me because it isn't immediately apparent to me what it is a video of (weddings, outside the house, pet antics)... it makes me have to actually title things and read titles where before I let it just be dates because I had the visual of that first frame as a reference. Obviously, this is a problem for unedited videos only, as anything I actually work with, I do give a title along with the date of the video.
I also just realized this seems to be the way ALL videos that are wrapped in .mp4 are displayed, as my bloggie camera's videos appear the same way. Now I know why! My other videos display as .avi's so I see the frame. Puzzle solved. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it, as it seems to be how things display with the various formats.
Now I need to watch some tutorials to learn how this Premiere program works! It's all new to me, since this is the first time I've been able load any of my videos onto it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to trim on it yet!
