How to detect fieldpoint in ethernet

Hi All,
I want some code  to auto-detect  any new fieldpoints were added into ethernet . If so, the program could find the FP device and allow user to configure it. Just like Measurement & Automation's function. But I want to implement it in my code.  Is it possible? Appreciate your help.

When using the "RT Ping Controllers.vi," does the IP address output return the subnet mask and gateway set up on the Fieldpoint as well? If not, is there another function which will return these settings? Ideally I would like the Fieldpoint to read its own information (like using the above VI with the [FALSE][127.0.0.1] address input), as the cFP-2120 is running headless in this application. I have access to the real time library if that is necessary.
Thanks,
Mello

How do i set up ethernet to another mac?
Specifically to be view from finder as another drive. I have them viewing each other but they always come up with the message "connection failure" instaneously. Troubleshooting help.
    Thank you

Yall rock.  Just tested Back to my Mac with my phone's hotspot and it worked!  and so does airplay!  Much Much appreciated!!
For double NAT the reset didn't work at first and I had to unplug all the connections but eventually got it back.  I also checked "Enable detection of router-behind-router conditions" in the RG.  Not sure if that did anything but I'm not seeing any AE warnings anymore.
    Thanks again!

  • How to use the (gigabit) ethernet for data exchange and WLAN for Internet?

    I have following setup:
    - MB Pro SL 10.6
    - Desktop PC Windows 7
    - Wireless Printer
    - Netgear WLAN Router
At the moment all my data and internet communication is done via the WLAN router on 192.168.1.x That works fine and I can exchange data, print and surf the internet. My problem is that big data exchanges > 10GB take ages via my 54Mbit WLAN Connection. Furthermore the WLAN router is far away from the PC so that it is not possible to plug in the Ethernet Cable of the PC and the MB to the router.
Now I've thought that there must be a possibility to use a 1 gigabit (cross) cable (like in the 90s ;)) to connect the MB and the PC directly. I know that I will need different IP ranges and so on, but I have no clue how to do that.
The final solution should be that the setup stays as it is (data exchange, print, internet via WLAN) and that additional it is possible to connect PC and MAC some times for big transfers via a Gigabit ethernet cable. because I only want to connect those two machines I don't think that a switch makes any sense, or?
Does someone know how to do that?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

Well if it were 2 Macs, I would configure each Mac with a fixed IP address (same subnet as my router, but outside of the routers DHCP assignment range).
I would give the same fixed IP address to both my Airport AND my ethernet interfaces. I would do the same to the other Mac using another fixed IP address.
My network service order would have the ethernet higher than the Airport on both systems.
Normally I would use WiFi, so ethernet would be idle and out of the loop.
When I wanted faster transfers, I would connect each Mac to the router via their own ethernet cables, and the Mac would automatically detect that the ethernet became available, and would switch to use the faster ethernet. Since Airport and ethernet have the same fixed IP address, I could even do this in the middle of a file transfer and no one would notice as packets were always going to/from the same IP addresses, just using a different route, which doesn't matter.
NOTE: I've been doing this on Macs since Mac OS X 10.3 days (or was it 10.2; to long ago to remember).
However, you have thrown a Windows system into the mix, and since I do not use Windows, I do not have a clue about what can be done on Windows. However, maybe this will give you some ideas, and asking the right questions in a Windows oriented forum may provide the Windows side of this setup.
Sorry, that is the best I can do. Maybe my reply will encourage someone else to offer their approach.

  • How to detect the Acrobat Browser Plug-in version installed on a users system for non-IE browsers?

How to detect the *Acrobat Browser Plug-in version* installed on a users system, on Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc?
Or one script for detecting Plug-in version for major browsers. Need full example code.

Wrote an article on this with code samples (Javascript + HTML) - basically there are differences between IE and other browsers. Chrome natively comes with the Chrome PDF Viewer so I've incorporated that in my detection script.
The script detects the browser type, and the installed acrobat version...

  • How to detect the path of Temp directory

I am writing a class library which allows users to manipulate a database in the web server java applications/applets. In my logic the Application/Applet communicate with a CGI script/Servlet in the server and that do all the database handling. My objective is to make the Client independant from the Database Drivers, and to some restrictions and possible security threats that can arrice when accessing the database directly.
99% of the work is done and now I am doing the fine tuning.
    My Problem:
When the user downloading a blob object from the server database. each time the program read the blob it will get a new copy from the server. This is not good if the blob is large (few 100 megs) . So I am going to implement a cache system. but the problem is If I am caching in the memory it will not support large objects (Memory is a limited factor). So the preferance is use the Temperary files but I do not know how to detect the path to temperary folder.
And my 2nd questions is are the applets allowed to write and read in temperary folder.

The Java default temporary file path can be determined with
System.getProperty("java.io.tmpdir")This is typically the same value as the os environment variable

  • How to detect color pages in a PDF?

    I am using a C++ Acrobat plug-in do read/edit a PDF file.
I need to get the total number of pages in the PDF as well as the page numbers of color pages.
So far I have been able to get the total number of pages using PDDocGetNumPages() without any trouble.
However, I cant seem to find an API that lets me know whether a particular page is color or not. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks in advance!

But what if there is RGB data that means black or gray (R == G == B), does that mean black or RGB?
There is some sample code in the SDK for iterating over the content in the PDF, and then you can get the colorspace and the color of each object.
But you really need to do some background research on colors & colorspaces to properly achieve this goal.

  • How to detect the HTML extension window close in In-design? Does the In-design throws any event on opening/closing of extensions?

How to detect the HTML extension window close in In-design? Does the In-design throws any event on opening/closing of extensions?
I have a HTML extension running in In-design CC 2014 version.
I want to perform some required set of actions before my extension window is closed(by clicking on the cross button on top right corner).
Does In-design throws any event for it? Or can we capture it using C++ plugin in some way?

Naah.......haven't got any event for that yet.
Although, since HTML extensions are using chromium browser,  as a workaround, u can attach listener to HTML onClose event, but it won't solve any purpose if you
are looking to logout session or do some business login in your code.

  • How to detect the final loop iteration of a step in a PostStep Engine Callback?

I see the need to use a PostStep Engine Callback and look at the Step.Result container of the caller.
My issue: If the caller is configured to loop, the PostStep Engine CB executes with each iteration and I do not see how to detect the final iteration (which is the only iteration I am interested in).
Ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance,
    Guenter

    Guenter,
well, the way i discripted IS the generic way. The reason for this is the following:
You can compare TestStand very well with procedural programming languages. So you have variables with different lifetimes and scope. RunState is one variable, which is available in every scope, but it may have different content.
So you leaving the execution of your clientsequence in order to call the callback, you leave the scope of the RunState from your clientsequence. But only there the information is stored on how many iterations are left. It does not make sense to pass this anywhere, since the execution of your clientsequence has to decide if to loop further or not.
But, please note that there are different scopes for the "disable result recording" as well. You have found the most global one, the station option. But you can as well set this in the sequence settings (Edit >> Sequence Properties >> Disable Result Recording for All Steps) and at step-level (Run Options >> Record Result {uncheck it}).
Looping on a single step using the step settings, you can additionally choose not to record results for each iteration. This will lead to only a single entry in the ResultList, the overall result of the looped step (if resultcollection is enabled of course!).
    hope this helps,
    Norbert

  • ANSWER: HOW TO DETECT Java Plugin from JavaScript

I created a new topic because the questions about
how to detect Java Plugin in browsers are scattered
    thoughout this forum.
Basically you need to employ two approaches for IE and NS.
In IE you need to try to instantiate a small applet
(not your production applet) in order to see if browser
can do it. if the browser can do it, you can make a
call applet from JavaScript in order to find version of
JRE (as well as a host of other things).
In NS you can write a simple JavaScript which will
interrogate the browser for all plugins installed. Then
ypu can make a desicion whether to pass execution to
the next(or generated) page which hosts your applet,
or ask the user to download/install a plugin.
I ecourage everybody to host a plugin on your site
rather leave default link to it which is generated by
    html converter.
    In order to run sample,
    Prerequisites:
    Java Plugin 1.3.
If you have a different version of plugin,
substitute hardcoded plugin version in JavaScript for
    value that you have.
    1. compile java file
    2. put class file in the same directory with html file
    3. load html file into the browser.
    4. press "Check Java Plugin.." button
    5. see it work
    6. examine code
    7. uninstall plugin
    8. repeat steps 1 - 4
    9. see it work
    10. install plugin.
    Sample code follows:
    **********************HTML FILE BEGIN***********
    <HTML>

  • How to detect the OS version and the hardware info??

Hi all, according to the project needs, I to know how to detect OS version and the hardware info.
The point is to detect client's OS version, weather Win98, 2000, XP, Vista.
I have been search the information for several days already.
But can not really found a example which returns the OS version like"Windows XP Version 2002 *****".
And also could not find the CPU type such as"Core 2 due, or  pentium D".
Is there anyone have done this before?
    Thanks.
The Info I need looks like the photo below.

Well, in fact I have the VI and also read the topics as well...... The searching tag is OS info , system info......... After reading your post, now I understand the relation between the version number and the real OS version now, tks.  And another problem is, the processor type returned within the VI have only 4 type:"INTEL 386, INTEL 486, PENTIUM, Unknown".
It can not really return my CPU TYPE. For example the desktop I’m using now is a Pentium, D , 2.80G, 2.80G.. and it only returns type "Pentium". That's why I'm asking is there any other way to do this...... (( Please forgive me if you can not really know what I'm talking about in my first post, now I know how bad my english is.......   ))  I guess I can only try to find out the solution from the registry then... Thanks for your information and reply.
