How to detemine the interface in portals

Hi Gurus,
I want to determine the number of interface involved in portals.
To know the number of backend source for portals.
for every inputs more points will be rewarded.
Thanks in Advance,
Dharani

Hi Dharani,
If you want to know the no of interface with portals .You navigate to system admin->system config->system landscape overview.
Here you can find total no of system created, which is equivalent to no of interface with backend.

hi gopi,
u can store ur reports in the database using Discoverer user edition. these stored reports can then be viewed in the discoverer Viewer. here i am assuming that u have configured ur discoverer viewer correctly.

• How to restrain the user login portal once, in the same time??

Hi
I need to restrain the user can't repeat to login portal ....
to reduce portal loading
How can I restrain the user login portal once, in the same time???
Which attributs in Identity Manager or amconsole I can do it to restrain the user ??
tks

Does your portal support anonymous access? If so, make sure you are using the authlessanonymous mode. This mode only creates one session that is shared for all anonymous users. This is much more efficient than anonymous access, which creates a session for each anonymous user.
I have no other recommendation for limiting users to a single login. In general, web applications do not behave like this. What if a user closes their browser without logging out? Does the user have to wait until the session times out in order to log back in again?
The same thing is true for users that are mobile. If a user leaves their office without logging out and then attempts to log in with a laptop in the conference room, then access will be denied in your implementation. Users do not expect this type of limitation being built into the system.
If you are having problems scaling, then you need to look at your architecture and perhaps add some more resources. Also, make sure you are making efficient use of the authlessanonymous access mode as stated above.

• How to see the iview in portal favorite

Hi,
It is possible to see the iview in portal favorite without giving content admin role. How to add the iview created in portal to display in portal favorite.
Thanks,
Kundan

Hi,
Your question is not very clear for me....According to my understanding i am replying u.
Portal favourites is itself an iview.
If u want to show some other iview in place of Portal favourites then you need to do some changes in your framework page.
Go to content admin and go to your framework page ---> select Desktop Innner Page
then u can see Portal favourites iview there.
If u want to show some ivew in place of portal favourites, then delete Portal favourites and add the iview which u want to display.

• How to test the interfaces in XI ?

Hi ,
Our Xi system is being upgraded from 3.0 to 7.0. I was asked to test the interfaces once the upgradation is done. I am not sure how this testing is to be done and will there be aby test plan for this??
Can some one help me on this ??
Thanks in Advance,
Hemanthika

To test, you must have imported all your scenarios in to your new system.then couple of general tips,
1.testing can be done only after understanding the scenario.
For this, u refer to the integration scenario in ur design. so this shall give u an idea about all the systems involved in integration and how the data flowing is between them and what kind of systems they are?
2. For testdata, you might need of business or functional team as you cannot have any info on the file formats etc(depending on different scenarios invloved like R3, SOAP Databse etc)
these are only general tips. but u can refer to many of the trouble shooting guides already available blogs in sdn for any sought of inputs. But then, SDN is always there.
you can test/monitor ur results in RWB->component monitoring
also in sxmb_moni
thanks

• How to avoid the port in portal

Hi Gurus,
Please help me on this
we have implementd SSL in our portal EP7.0
my question is i needs to avoid the port No. now and give normal url
now the url is https://<host>.<company>:50001/irj/portal
now want to change it to https://host.company/irj/portal
thanks,
Kishore

Hi Kishore,
Change the default portal URL to give the users a more user friendly URL. The following steps will show you how to modify the URL from the default port of 50000 to 80 which is the browser default. Also you will learn how to setup a redirect from the J2EE Engine so the user can find the portal without first inputting the /irj/portal to the URL.
Change the Port:
1.Switch to the J2EE Visual Administrator
2.Go to Cluster  Dispatcher  Services  HTTP Provider
3.Choose Ports
4.Change the Port number to 80 for http and 81 for ssl
5.Choos Update and Save.
Remove the irj/portal:
1.Go to Cluster  Server  Services  HTTP Provider
2.Enter /irj/portal in the Start Page text field
3.Choose Save Properties button
4.Restart the Service

Krishna.

• How to run the interfaces prallely in a package?

Hi all,
Is it possible with ODI to run the interfaces parallely. If yes please help me how to do?
My reqirement is
Source-->File and Target-->Teradata. From the unique source flat file data is populated with 45 target tables.
I designed 45 interfaces. I want to run all the 45 interfaces parallely.
I tried by generating scenarios for all 45 interfaces and kept in package. And i also used Wait for child session and i passed the keywords for all the 45 scenario's into "wait for child session" and executed the package.
Its not working.
So please help me how to achieve.
Regards
Suresh

Hi ,
After creating the scenario of all 45 interface , create a package say master package which is going to run all 45 scenario in parallel
Inside the master package for each and every scenario set the Synchronous / Asynchronous to Asynchronous Mode.
After the 45th scenario use OdiWaitForChildSession and set Max. Number of Failed Child Sessions to 1 .
In this way you will achieve the following
All 45 scenario will run parallel and if any one of the scenario execution fails your master package will result in error .
Hope this helps .
Thanks,
Sutirtha
PS : You refer odiwaitforchildsession step

• How to trigger the interface in target system to load the data automaticall

Hi Friends,
This is proxy to file interface. My requirement is to “trigger” the interface in target system to load the data automatically. For ex: if you are sending a customer data file "/exe_test/custd.dat” then the trigger file should be created as “/exe_test/custd.trg”. How do we actually create this trigger file?
Thanks in advance,
Prathibha.

Hi Prathibha,
File (Trigger) -> BP
BP <-> ABAP server proxy (synchronous)
BP -> File
is one and the standard alternative. Just make your interface synchronous, add a msg type for the request (i think you need only one field), take the existing for the response. Regenerate your proxy.
Alternative 2 would be:
File (Trigger) -> ABAP server proxy (asynchronous)
ABAP server proxy calling a ABAP client proxy
ABAP client proxy -> File (asynchronous)
You avoid using BPM, what can be an advantage of huge traffic (performance). This solution has a worse value for the future, because a person, who did not developed the process wouldnt see that the both messages belong together.
Regards,
Udo

• How to reproduce the interface of Home/Administration/Monitor Activity

Hi,
In order to recreate an environment like the administration panel of APEX 4.1,w which template needs to be used?
Specifically, in order to produce a menu system using Lists similar to the one at page: http://localhost:7777/apex/f?p=4350:22 whar combinations of Regions/ Lists can be used?
Thanks

It depends on the security level of the interface. The graph will show the interface with the lowest level. If there are 2 interfaces with the same security level then it will go alphabetically.
Please rate if this helps.

• How to find the interface with the help of target table name

Hi friends,
Whether with the help of target table name, is it possible to find the interface name that invokes this target table in ODI 11.1.1.7.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Saro

highlight the datastore in the navigator, expand its sub tree, there is a 'populated by' node, under the node, it will list all datastores which are used as sources to the current datastore
then expand 'used by'->interfaces, it will show all interfaces which include current datastore(but maybe current datastore is used as source)
that's all you can get from UI, otherwise I suppose you can use SDK.

• How to pass the context from Portal to Database for fine grain access?

Hi,
I am developing an omniportlet and I need to pass on the context of the logged in user to the database so that when the user tries to access data in the omniportlet, he can see data relevant to him only. Does anyone know how to do that?
I have set up a light weight user scott and also has a schema in the database by the same name (scott)..
what I am trying is when the user logs in as scott in the portal site and runs an omniportlet, he should be dynamically be logged in to scott the schema so that the data visible to him can be restricted. Same should happen for other users as well.
Does anyone know in which table in the PORTAL schema is this connection information stored, so that I can override it using some API..?
Thanks,
Abhi

I had tried sending the user_name in the sql and that works fine. but my requirement is that the user should login to his schema and only his schema directly and automatically.. such that even if an omniportlet is created using some default schema, when user logs in he can access only the schema meant for him..
e.g. While running the omniportlet when logged-in as user scott, he should be logged-in to scott schema in the database, so that the fine grain access can be enabled ..
