How to determine the RDT name generated by sdo_geor.init()?

I've done the following in a stored procedure:
insert into ... values(sdo_geor.init()) returning newcol into gr;
Now, before I do anything with gr, I have to create the rdt whose name was generated by sdo_geor.init. How do I get that name? There doesn't seem to be a sdo_geor.get* procedure or function for returning this.
What I'm trying to do is implement this example of using sdo_geor.copy, but without specifying an rdt in sdo_geor.init():
DECLARE
gr1 sdo_georaster;
gr2 sdo_georaster;
BEGIN
INSERT INTO georaster_table VALUES (11, sdo_geor.init('RDT_11', 1))
RETURNING georaster INTO gr2;
SELECT georaster INTO gr1 from georaster_table WHERE georid=1;
sdo_geor.copy(gr1, gr2);
UPDATE georaster_table SET georaster=gr2 WHERE georid=11;
COMMIT;
END;
Alternatively, is there a way to generate a unique RDT name myself so that I can specify it in the call to sdo_geor.init?
Many thanks,
Mike

Mike,
the RDT table name is in the georaster object (gr) you just created. It's an attribute of sdo_georaster object, i.e., gr.RASTERDATATABLE in your case.
generally, automatically generating the RDT name thru sdo_geor.init is not recommended because that would generate an RDT for each GeoRaster object. An RDT table should be used to contain the raster blocks of many smaller GeoRaster objects while you devote a single RDT table for a huge GeoRaster object (an image with a size over tens of GB to many terabytes for example). Even though the RDT tables are internal to GeoRaster, the creation of the RDT table is done by users, which is intentional, so that you can fully leverage the configuration and tuning power of oracle database (for example, if ASM is not used, RDT tables may be created on different tablespaces so that the raster blocks are distributed to different disks to improve performance).
to generate unique RDT names, you can leverage the SEQUENCE object to create sequence numbers and then attach them to a special table name you picked up.

  • How to use the column names generated from Dynamic SQL

    Hi,
    I have a problem with Dynamic SQL.
    I have written an SQL which will dynamically generate the Select statement with from and where clause in it.
    But that select statement when executed will get me hundreds of rows and i want to insert each row separately into one more table.
    For that i have used a ref cursor to open and insert the table.
    In the select list the column names will also be as follows: COLUMN1, COLUMN2, COLUMN3,....COLUMNn
    Please find below the sample code:
    TYPE ref_csr IS REF CURSOR;
    insert_csr ref_csr;
    v_select VARCHAR2 (4000) := NULL;
    v_table VARCHAR2 (4000) := NULL;
    v_where VARCHAR2 (4000) := NULL;
    v_ins_tab VARCHAR2 (4000) := NULL;
    v_insert VARCHAR2 (4000) := NULL;

  • How to determine the Cluster name ?

    Grid version : 11.2.0.3 on Solaris 10
    When we start installing Grid Infrastructure, we specify a Cluster Name.
    Question1.
    How can I determine the cluster name of a 11.2 RAC Cluster ? We maintain a DB inventory. For each cluster , we want to specify the Cluster name.Hence we require the cluster name .
    Question2.
    The cluster name is of no functional importance. Right ? I don't remember using Cluster Name in any commands (srvctl, crsctl,...)

    To determine the cluster name,[oracle@iron1 ~]$ olsnodes -c
    ironcluster
    [oracle@iron1 ~]$I wouldn't say it has much technical significance, though it is used as a default in a few other names.

  • How to determine the schema name from stored function or procedure

    Hi all
    I need to find the way to determine the name of shema in which the given stored procedure residing. This SP is created with AUTHID CURRENT_USER what means that expression like SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','CURRENT_USER') or SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','CURRENT_SCHEMA') will be return the name of user or schema of user which calls given SP.
    can somebody help me?

    What is the problem you are trying to solve?
    Presumably, when you're creating a stored procedure, you know what schema owns it. So it's pretty trivial to simply create a local variable L_OWNER in your procedure, assign it the value of the schema owner, and then use that owner. Most people don't really need to figure out at runtime what they already knew at compile time.
    Barring that, you could inspect the data dictionary as user130038 suggested. That requires that you know the name of the procedure (which would likely also have to be a local variable that is initialized to a hard-coded value. And if there are multiple users that own procedures with the same name, it may not be reliable.
    Inspecting the call stack is the most reliable and dynamic approach. But it is also the most costly in terms or runtime performance and in terms of code complexity.

    To run a public VPN server, you need to do the following:
    1. Give the gateway either a static external address or a dynamic DNS name. The latter must be a DNS record on a public DNS registrar, not on the server itself. Also in the latter case, you must run a background process to keep the DNS record up to date when your IP address changes.
    2. Give the VPN server a static address on the local network.
    3. Forward external UDP ports 500, 1701, and 4500 (for L2TP) and TCP port 1723 (for PPTP) to the corresponding ports on the VPN server.
    4. Configure any firewall in use to pass this traffic.

  • How to determine the Current Domain name from inside an Mbean / Java Prog

    We have registered an Application Defined MBean. The mbean has several APIs. Now we want to determine the currrent domain using some java api inside this Mbean. Similarly we have deployed a Webapp/Service in the Weblogic domain. And inside this app we need to know the current Domain. Is there any java api that will give this runtime information.
    Note: We are the MBean providers not clients who can connect to the WLS (using user/passwd) and get the domain MBean and determine the domain.
    Fusion Applcore

    Not sure if this will address exactly what you are looking to do, but I use this technique all the time to access runtime JMX information from within a Weblogic deployed application without having to pass authentication credentials. You are limited, however, to what you can access via the RuntimeServiceMBean. The example class below shows how to retrieve the domain name and managed server name from within a Weblogic deployed application (System.out calls only included for simplicity in this example):
    package com.yourcompany.jmx;
    import javax.management.MBeanServer;
    import javax.management.ObjectName;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    public class JMXWrapper {
        private static JMXWrapper instance = new JMXWrapper();
        private String domainName;
        private String managedServerName;
        private JMXWrapper() {
        public static JMXWrapper getInstance() {
            return instance;
        public String getDomainName() {
            if (domainName == null) {
                try {
                    MBeanServer server = getMBeanServer();
                    ObjectName domainMBean = (ObjectName) server.getAttribute(getRuntimeService(), "DomainConfiguration");
                    domainName = (String) server.getAttribute(domainMBean, "Name");
                } catch (Exception ex) {
                    System.out.println("Caught Exception: " + ex);
                    ex.printStackTrace();
            return domainName;
        public String getManagedServerName() {
            if (managedServerName == null) {
                try {
                    managedServerName = (String) getMBeanServer().getAttribute(getRuntimeService(), "ServerName");
                } catch (Exception ex) {
                    System.out.println("Caught Exception: " + ex);
                    ex.printStackTrace();
            return managedServerName;
        private MBeanServer getMBeanServer() {
            MBeanServer retval = null;
            InitialContext ctx = null;
            try {
                //fetch the RuntimeServerMBean using the
                //MBeanServer interface
                ctx = new InitialContext();
                retval = (MBeanServer) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jmx/runtime");
            } catch (Exception ex) {
                System.out.println("Caught Exception: " + ex);
                ex.printStackTrace();
            } finally {
                if (ctx != null) {
                    try {
                        ctx.close();
                    } catch (Exception dontCare) {
            return retval;
        private ObjectName getRuntimeService() {
            ObjectName retval = null;
            try {
                retval = new ObjectName("com.bea:Name=RuntimeService,Type=weblogic.management.mbeanservers.runtime.RuntimeServiceMBean");
            } catch (Exception ex) {
                System.out.println("Caught Exception: " + ex);
                ex.printStackTrace();
            return retval;
    }I then created a simply test JSP to call the JMXWrapper singleton and display retrieved values:
    <%@page contentType="text/html" pageEncoding="UTF-8"%>
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
       "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

    <%
       JMXWrapper jmx = JMXWrapper.getInstance();
       String domainName = jmx.getDomainName();
       String managedServerName = jmx.getManagedServerName();
    %>
    <html>
        <head>

            <title>JMX Wrapper Test</title>
        </head>
        <body>
            <h2>Domain Name: <%= domainName %></h2>

  • How to determine the ROWNUM in a Master Detail Form

    Hello,
    I am working in a Master Detail Form with Orders and Order Items Information; and I created a process that allows the users to select a Product ID on a tabular form, and the next column is populated automatically with the Product Description.
    To achieve that, I followed some instructions by Denes Kubicek (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:241), but my case is slightly different:
    <ul>I am using a wizard-created tabular form, instead of a manual tabular form; and </ul>
    <ul>Instead of using another page as a Popup to pass the parameter of the ROWNUM, I am using a plug-in called “Tabular Form Super LOV” which is a modified version of the SkillBuilders’ Super LOV that works on Tabular Forms. </ul>
    The Product ID is returned in the correct row by the plug-in; but in the case of the Product Description, it is always returned into the first row; and my problem is that I don't know how to determine the row where the user clicked to call the plug-in.
    I set up an example in apex.oracle.com in case someone would like to look at it:
    Workspace: ediazjorge
    Username: test
    Password: test
    App Name: Sample App
    App Number: 1550
    BTW, I am using Apex 4.1.1.00.23 and Oracle DB 10.3.2.
    Thanks in advance,
    Erick

    Hello VC,
    Thank you for your time and help.
    Unfortunately, it is still not working properly:
    1. When the Popup LOV opens, the first row of the tabular form is 0, the second row is 1, and so on. How can I assign the values starting with 1 and in the format *0001* ? (I am still a novice on Apex and new to JavaScript :-), sorry about that).
    --2. Also, when I close the Popup LOV, the value of P1_ROWNUM is ‘undefined’ again so I'm not sure if the Product Name column will be populated.--
    3. And finally, you are using the jQuery Selector uPopupLOVIcon, which is an attribute of the Cloudy Theme. In my real application (Apex 4.1.1.00.26), my element looks like: *<img src="/i/lov_16x16.gif" width="16" height="16" alt="Popup Lov" alt="List" style="vertical-align:middle;" align="middle" />*. What do you recommend me to use as a jQuery Selector?
    Again, I really appreciate your help and time. I think you solved the most difficult part.
    Thank you so much,
    Erick
    Update: I just found out that the problem with my comment 2 is because I didn’t delete the previous dynamic action that set the value to P1_ROWNUM.

    hi,
    I would like to know how to determine the jobject reference of an instance is of which class.
    this is something similar to instanceof we use in java.
    is there any thing like 'instanceof' in JNI. if there how to use it?
    i got this as objective question for which answers were(i do not remember exactly)
    1.instanceof
    2.assignedto
    i could nt het much help in googling.
    thanks in advance

    Hi
    The JNI provides a native version to the java instanceof operator, this function takes two arguments
    an object refrence and a class refrence and reports JNI_TRUE.
    jclass myclass = env->FindClass("your class name");
    if(env->IsInstanceOf(obj,myclass) == JNI_TRUE)
    // obj is of type myclass
    }Regards

  • How to determine the solution's ID in absl?

    Hello Community,
    I have a simple question yet I fear there is no simple answer (possibly no answer at all).
    The question is:
    Does any body know ways how to determine the ID (e.g. Y123ABCDY_) of the solution the code is running in?
    My use case is the following:
    We have a solution template which will be deployed in different customer tenant.
    Thus, each deployment will have a different solution ID.
    Now, somewhere in code, we generat PDFs using the OutputManagementUtilities.GetPDF reuse library.
    This method requires the form template code of the pdf to be generated as a parameter.
    However, this PDF form template code is composed of the solution ID and a fixed suffix.
    Thus, currently I need to modify the absl code in each customer installation to manually modify the form template code prefix to the solutions solution ID.
    Therefore I'd like to construct the form template code in absl but for this I need a way to determine the solution's ID.
    Any ideas?
    Best regards,
    Ludger

    Hi Fernando.
    After reading your post I initially thought "what is the ObjectTypeCode" supposed to do any good to determine the solution ID"?
    Using the Object Type code of a custom bo is indeed a way to solve this problem.
    With a little additional code I can extract the relevant solution ID part from there.
    Thanks for the hint, that was really useful.
    Best reegards,

    The Smartform is having a Alternative option(for printing the Address) and for YES part(for certain countries) - the fm "ADDRESS_INTO_PRINTFORM" is being used and for the NO(for the rest of the countries) part an ADDRESS TEMPLATE is being used....
    The issues are:
    - the fm 'ADDRESS.......FORM" is printing the COUNTRY Name for certain cases and for the rest it is not...
    - the Address template has no option to do any manipulation on the COUNTRY Name to come
    how can have the COUNTRY NAME to appear in both the cases(YES part and NO part) printed in ENGLISH always?

  • How to retrieve the parameter names from a JSP page ? Urgent Please

    Hello,
    Can anybody tell me how to retrieve the parameter names from the JSP
    page. (without using getParameterNames() method.)
    The problem with the getParameterNames() method is I get the Jumbled output.
    I need it very badly
    With regards

    email:[email protected]
    [email protected]

    Dear duffymo,
    My primary intention is to convert the JSP form information into a XML file.
    If I do not get the Parameter names in the correct order how can I maintain
    tag order in XML file.
    For ex: (JSP PAGE VIEW)
    Name--
    FirstName
    MiddleName
    LastName
    Address--
    Street1
    Street2
    City
    Country
    &so on
    (XML File to be generated)
    <Name>
    <FirstName>Value</FirstName>
    </Name>
    <Address>
    <street1>value</street1>
    </Address>
    & so on
    If I use getParameterNames() to get all the parameter names(Which form the tag names in the XML file ) the Enumeration object it returns will not be in the same order as the text fields in JSP.From this I can not construct a meaningful XML file.
    order means: Order of entry on the page, from top to bottom
    That's it

    Could I know how to determine the allowable file length (the length of the absolute path) for a file in Window environment?
    Due to some reason, I generated a zip file with a very long filename ( > 170) and put in a folder(the length of the folder path around 90). The length of the absolute path is around 260.
    I used FileOutputStream with the ZipOutputStream to write out the zip file. Everything is working fine while i generating the zip file.
    However, while i try to extract some files from the zip file i just created, i encountered the error

    I am using the class ZipFile to extract the files from the zip file like the following
    String absPath = "A very long filepath which exceed 260";
    ZipFile zipF = new ZipFile(absPath);  //<-- here is the root causeIs it possible to pre-determine the maximum allowable filepath length prior i generate the zip file ? This is weird since i got no error while i created the zip file, but have problem in extracting the zip file ......

    Assuming you could determine the max, what would you do about it? I'd say you should just assume it will be successful, but accommodate (handle) the possible exception gracefully. Either way you're going to have to handle it as an "exception", whether you "catch" an actual "Exception" object and deal with that, or manually deal with the length exceeding the max.

  • In Mac how to get the Full name of a file Programmatically?

    Hi Friends,
             I am doing one Mac application for displaying the contents of a file. I can able to get some information about the file by using this code below...
      NSDictionary *dict=[fileManager attributesOfItemAtPath:myPath error:nil];
    Now I want to get the some other informations also like Full Name, copyRight, version... So Please suggest me how to get the full name of a file Programmaticallly?

    Your question doesn't make sense.
    First off, if you are going to get the attributes of a file, you need its full name before you can do anything. So that's part one taken care of.
    This function returns a dictionary full of typical file information (type, size, mod dates, etc.) as well as some HFS data (creator code, type code) which, I strongly suspect, are not "pulled out of the file" but rather generated on the spot. (See NSFileManager for the full list of attribute keys.)
    The other items you hoped of retrieving are not part of the regular file system. Sure, a Truetype font has a copyright string and a version, but what about an HTML file? A PNG? A text file you just created?
    There simply are no standard functions to retrieve copyright and version.
