How to determine the slew rate of an amplifier using lab view

gud evening all
I have an op amp circuit built on the NI ELVIS board and I input a square wave from function generator to the circuit. I have to determine the slew rate of the op amp.In the labs, one would run the square wave over a range of frequencies and stop when the square wave looks like a triangular wave. At that frequency, one would then measure the slope of the signal and that will give you the slew rate. How can I do that in LabVIEW? How can I check when my square wave starts looking like a triangular wave? please help

thank you johnsold
i designed a voltage follower using 741, on an Ni elvis instrument. i can manually do the slew rate experiment by varying the frequency range on the coasre frequency knob( using a square wave) of the function generator until the slew rate occurs at 0.5volts, my problem is how can i do the same experiment with built in vi in labview with out touching the knob on the function generator and once the triangular wave starts to show the lab view program will automatically stop.

  • How to determine the bit rate with button over video subtitles?

    I have a project where I've got several questions that come up on the screen. The DVD is subtitled in 14 languages, so depending on the language chosen, it will show the question in the proper language along with navigation buttons to go to the next question or track.
    The problem is this: I added several new questions that each have a black only video that runs about 1min with 14 subtitle tracks made from photoshop psds. When I try to build, it fails saying "bit rate too high." When I removed all but 5 of the subtitle tracks, then it would build. I came up with a workaround, but then hit the limit of 99 tracks, menus or stories on a DVD.
    I went back and tried combining all 3 questions in to one slide, but now with more information on the psd, it will only allow 3 subtitle tracks before it reaches the max bit rate.
    How does it determine the bit rate? What can I do to lower the rate? I tried compressing the video at the lowest bitrate, but it didn't' help. I tried changing the psds to much smaller jpg files, but it didn't change anything. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!
    Thanks.

    CS,
    Almost all DVD SP Tracks should first be completely constructed in a Sequence in FCP, the markers placed there, and then everything encoded into a single Mpeg 2 clip with matching length audio (even if just low bit rate AC3 silent audio, as the case may be, because all Mpeg 2 clips in the Title domain should be accompanied by an audio stream), and then imported into DVD SP.
    Lay your subtitles under that and see what happens.
    Take care,

  • How to rearrange the structure of a table by using a view?

    At wits end: I need to reorganize the structure of a table into a new structure - either as a view or actually moving the data from the old structure to the new structure (using a view).
    The old structure is:
    TESTNAME, SCHOOL_ID, PTILE1, PTILE2, PTILE3 ... PTILE99
    Test1,0001,18,19,20...
    Test1,0002,23,24,28...
    Test1,0003,20,21,26...
    Test2,0001,48,52,55...
    Test2,0002,50,54,54...
    Test2,0003,60,62,64
    The new structure is:
    SCHOOL_ID,PTILE,TESTNAME1,TESTNAME2...
    1,0001,Score1,Score2...
    1,0002,Score1,Score2...
    1,0003,Score1,Score2...
    2,0001,Score1,Score2...
    2,0002,Score1,Score2...
    2,0003,Score1,Score2...
    99,0001,Score1,Score2...
    99,0002,Score1,Score2...
    99,0003,Score1,Score2...
    What this data shows are the percentiles for test scores for different tests for each school who took the tests.
    It seems like creating a view to arrange the data through a bunch of selects and unions would work, but I can't figure out how.

    Tricky.
    When confronted with a problem like this I try to write out an algorthm in pseudocode to work out what I want to do. If you have more than 2 or 3 tables to merge I'd consider going with a new structure; otherwise the view approach might be a good idea. Remember that if you go with a new structure you can insert once and update the other values later, something like
    foreach school insert row
    update testname1
    update testname2
    Good luck.

  • Exch.Rate Type for Determining the Proposed Rate

    Dears,
    I defined, in the document type to be used for Goods Receipt, the field T003-KURST (Exch.Rate Type for Determining the Proposed Rate) equal to u2018Pu2019: exchange rate type used also for standard translation for cost planning.
    Then, I created a Purchase Order using a vendor in foreign currency, and in the header section within tab u2018Delivery/Invoiceu2019 in field "Exchange Rate" I filled in the exchange rate valid at the moment of the Purchase Order creation and I also put the flag in the indicator "Fixing of Exchange Rate".
    Afterwards, I posted  the Goods Receipt against the Purchase Order created at the previous step.
    My expectations were to find in FI accounting:
    - 1 line item for stock increase (transaction BSX) valuated using the exchange rate defined in the document type in field T003-KURST;
    - 1 line item for GR/IR increase (transaction WRX) valuated using the exchange rate defined in the Purchase Order and indicated as fixed;
    - 1 line item for difference (transaction PRD) between stock and GR/IR.
    but when I checked the accounting document, these my expectations were not met, because:
    - the line item for stock increase (transaction BSX) has not been valuated using the exchange rate defined in the document type in field T003-KURST, but a differet exchange rate that I didnu2019t find defined for this couple of currencies;
    - the line for GR/IR increase (transaction WRX) has been valuated as expected using the exchange rate defined in the Purchase Order and indicated as fixed;
    - the line item for difference (transaction PRD) between stock and GR/IR has been created.
    The help (F1) for field T003-KURST, show the following indication:
    Exch.Rate Type for Determining the Proposed Rate
        Rate type under which the proposed rate is defined for foreign currency documents.
    Use
        If no exchange rate is specified in the document header when entering documents in foreign currencies, the system will automatically select a rate from the currency translation rate table.  The system then converts all amounts in the document's line items using this exchange rate.
        The system uses the average rate as a default value as long as no other exchange rate type is entered here.
    Based on this message, my expectation is that all documentu2019s line items have to be converted at the exchange rate type defined in field T003-KURST. And in the case mentioned above, the line for stock (BSX) should be converted at exchange rate type defined in field T003-KURST.
    While, correctly, the line for GR/IR (WRX) has been converted at the exchanged rate fixed in the purchase order.
    Can you please let me know how can be fixed the problem for the line related to the stock allowing the conversion using the exchange rate type defined in field T003-KURST?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jody

    Hello Jody,
    kindly consider the information contained under the attached note:
    191927 - Posting logic: GR for foreign currency PO.
    As stated in it:
    Postings to the material stock account (BSX):
    In order to be able to determine the value of the stock posting, the
    valuation methods which exist in the material master in local currency
    (standard price, total value of stock) must be converted into document
    currency. This translation is thus carried out on the posting date with
    the exchange rate type that is assigned to the FI document type used,
    that is, independent from the exchange rate defined in the purchase
    order!
    If no exchange rate type is assigned to an FI document type, the system
    uses exchange rate type M.
    Please, check in your system the settings stored in the customizing
    transaction OBF4 for the document type WE (Goods receipt). If the field
    'Exch.Rate Type for foreign currency documents' is empty, the exchange
    rate type M is used.
    The fixed conversion rate in the purchase order refers to the valuation
    approach in the purchase order and, therefore, to the costs for the
    purchased material. Therefore, the posting amount to the GR/IR clearing
    account (WRX) is converted according to the fixed conversion rate in the
    purchase order header.
    On the other side the fixed conversion rate in the purchase order is not
    designed for converting the posting values to the material stock account
    (BSX). This conversion reflects the situation of the valuation of the
    material stock and is therefore designed to be independent of the
    conversion rate defined in the purchase order. This is what note 191927
    outlines.
    In the note 191927 you will also locate relevant information about the
    postings to the KDM key:
    Exchange rate differences (KDM):
    As of Release 4.0A, exchange rate differences (KDM) can be posted to a
    separate account. The exchange rate differences result from the
    difference of the clearing value on the GR/IR clearing account (WRX) in
    document currency that is translated to the current exchange rate stored
    in the system in local currency from the clearing value in local
    currency that is determined with the conversion factor from the purchase
    order or the invoices.
    The offsetting entry for the exchange rate differences is settled with
    the price difference.
    (Price difference = GR/IR amount - stock value - exchange rate
    difference)
    KDM is only posted during the GR if the flag T169P-XPLCU is initial,
    therefore, KDM postings will not occur during incoming invoices.
    This is determined in the IMG path:
    Materials Management
    -> Logistics Invoice Verification
       -> Incoming Invoice
          -> Configure How Exchange Rate Differences Are Treated
    Here, you have the following options per Company Code:
    .- The exchange rate differences will be calculated from the difference
       between the exchange rate at the time of the goods receipt and the
       exchange rate at the time of the invoice receipt.
    .- The exchange rate differences will be calculated from the difference
       between the exchange rate at the time of the invoice receipt and an
       assumed exchange rate that is valid for a specific amount of time,
       such as a year or a season.
    .- No exchange rate differences will be calculated. Instead, differences
       from exchange rate variations will be considered as price differences
       and posted to a price difference account.
    The field T001A-CURDT for the company code will determine which date is
    relevant to calculate the exchange rate difference.
    This is set under the IMG path:
    Financial Accounting
    -> Financial Accounting Global Settings
       -> Company Code
          -> Multiple Currencies
             -> Define Additional Local Currencies
    So, finally, the value for KDM calculates as difference between
    GR/IR amount in local currency - GR/IR amount in foreign
    currency*exchange rate.
    I hope this information can be of help.
    cheers
    ray

  • How to determine the ROWNUM in a Master Detail Form

    Hello,
    I am working in a Master Detail Form with Orders and Order Items Information; and I created a process that allows the users to select a Product ID on a tabular form, and the next column is populated automatically with the Product Description.
    To achieve that, I followed some instructions by Denes Kubicek (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:241), but my case is slightly different:
    <ul>I am using a wizard-created tabular form, instead of a manual tabular form; and </ul>
    <ul>Instead of using another page as a Popup to pass the parameter of the ROWNUM, I am using a plug-in called “Tabular Form Super LOV” which is a modified version of the SkillBuilders’ Super LOV that works on Tabular Forms. </ul>
    The Product ID is returned in the correct row by the plug-in; but in the case of the Product Description, it is always returned into the first row; and my problem is that I don't know how to determine the row where the user clicked to call the plug-in.
    I set up an example in apex.oracle.com in case someone would like to look at it:
    Workspace: ediazjorge
    Username: test
    Password: test
    App Name: Sample App
    App Number: 1550
    BTW, I am using Apex 4.1.1.00.23 and Oracle DB 10.3.2.
    Thanks in advance,
    Erick

    Hello VC,
    Thank you for your time and help.
    Unfortunately, it is still not working properly:
    1. When the Popup LOV opens, the first row of the tabular form is 0, the second row is 1, and so on. How can I assign the values starting with 1 and in the format *0001* ? (I am still a novice on Apex and new to JavaScript :-), sorry about that).
    --2. Also, when I close the Popup LOV, the value of P1_ROWNUM is ‘undefined’ again so I'm not sure if the Product Name column will be populated.--
    3. And finally, you are using the jQuery Selector uPopupLOVIcon, which is an attribute of the Cloudy Theme. In my real application (Apex 4.1.1.00.26), my element looks like: *<img src="/i/lov_16x16.gif" width="16" height="16" alt="Popup Lov" alt="List" style="vertical-align:middle;" align="middle" />*. What do you recommend me to use as a jQuery Selector?
    Again, I really appreciate your help and time. I think you solved the most difficult part.
    Thank you so much,
    Erick
    Update: I just found out that the problem with my comment 2 is because I didn’t delete the previous dynamic action that set the value to P1_ROWNUM.

  • How to restrict the quantity & rate of MIRO with MIGO and PO

    Hi friends,
    Can any body tell me how to restrict the quantity & rate of MIRO with MIGO and PO.
    e.g. if we have done MIGO for quantity 10 and the rate maintained in the PO is Rs.100.Then at the time of MIRO system should not allow to change the quantity and rate.
    How we can do this?
    Regards
    Purnesh Sharma

    Hi,
    You are misunderstanding the use of MIRO.
    If you change the details in MIRO you are NOT changing anything. You are just entering the price and quantity from the Invoice.
    If this price and or qty is different from the GR aqty and PO price then the system will block the invoice for payment (and it can issue messages toinform the buyer if configured correctly).
    The whole design of MIRO is based on the principle that you enter EXACTLY what the vendor has put on the invoice. By preventing the users from changing anything you will get NO mismatched invoices, but you will not be paying the vendor the amount specified on their invoice. This will surely cause problems.
    If you do want to ensure that ONLY the GR qty and the PO price are used and cannot be changed then why not consider using ERS (Eveluated Receipt Settlement. this is basically self billing.
    Effectively you will be paying the vendor based on what you have received in MIGO multiplied by the price from the PO. (which is what you would be doing if you stop any changes in MIRO)

  • How to determine the timeout setting?

    I read all the items about the time out. I created a javascript function which informs you that you only have 5 (after that 1) minutes before logout. But in the profile file the setting for http timeout 180 and the rz11 setting icm/keep_alive_timeout is set to 60. But when waitng for 180 seconds I can still go on with the application. No timeout occur.
    How can I determine the real timeout so I can use this in the setting for the Javascript (reading it for the system and concatenate into the javascript statement)!

  • How to determine the mount point for directory /tmp ?

    Folks,
    Hello. I am installing Oracle 11gR2 RAC using 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2 whose OS are Oracle Linux 5.6) in VMPlayer and according to the tutorial
    http://appsdbaworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/10/11gr2-rac-on-linux-56-using-vmware.html
    I am installing Grid infrastructure. I am on step 7 of 10 (verify Grid installation enviroment) and get this error:
    "Free Space: Rac2: /tmp"
    Cause: Could not determine mount point for location specified.
    Action: Ensure location specified is available.
    Expected value: n/a
    Actual value: n/a
    I have checked the free space using the command:
    [root@Rac2 /]# df -k /tmp
    Output:
    Filesystem     1k-blocks     used     Available     Use%     Mounted on
    /dev/sda1     30470144     7826952     21070432     28%     /
    As you see above, the free space is enough, but could not determine mount point for /tmp.
    Do any folk understand how to determine the mount point for directory /tmp ?
    Thanks.

    I have just checked "/home/oracle/.bash_profile". But in my computer, there is no "oracle" under /home directory.Is this your first time Linux and Oracle installation? I had a brief look at your referenced link. The reason why you do not find a "oracle" user is because the instructions use "ora11g" instead, which, btw, is not standard. The directories of your installation and your installation source can be somewhat different from known standards and you will have to adjust it to your system.
    My best guess is that you have either missed something in the instructions or you need to ask the author of the blog what is wrong. The chance to find someone here who has experience with these custom instructions is probably unlikely.
    I suggest you try to locate the cluster verification tool, which should be in the bin directory of your grid installation. Alternatively you might want to check the RAC, ASM & Clusterware Installation forum: RAC, ASM & Clusterware Installation

  • How to determine the field size

    I am going to make a multiplatform application that hopefully
    will run on linux and windows 2000.If the os is 2000, then I will use
    vb.net/aspx else I'll use java servlets. I make the connection
    to the web server ( through HTTP) not directly to database server.
    So, the resultset will be stored in the String object. The columns
    will be separated by delimeter. Our problem is how to determine
    the size and type of the fields of mssql,oracle and postgres database
    so that we can include it in the String object.
    Ex.
    String sResultSet=new String();
    ResultSet rs=statement.executeQuery(sSQL);
    while(rs.next()){
    sResultset=sResultSet + rs.getString(field1) + "||" + rs.getString(field2) + "||";
    vertical bars acts as delimeter
    supposedly this is the code:
    sResultset=sResultSet + rs.getString(field1) +"_" + rs.getFieldType() + "_"+
    rs.getFieldSize() + "||" + rs.getString(field2) +"_" + rs.getFieldType() + "_"+
    rs.getFieldSize() + "||";
    supposedly this is the code if rs.getFieldType() and rs.getFieldSize() methods are existing
    Anyone can give me an idea how to get the field type and field size of the database?
    thanks in advance

    Yes, but I dont know how to do it.
    Can you give me an example of using it.
    Thanks in advance

    is there any thing like 'instanceof' in JNI. if there how to use it?
    i got this as objective question for which answers were(i do not remember exactly)
    1.instanceof

    Hi
    The JNI provides a native version to the java instanceof operator, this function takes two arguments
    an object refrence and a class refrence and reports JNI_TRUE.
    jclass myclass = env->FindClass("your class name");
    if(env->IsInstanceOf(obj,myclass) == JNI_TRUE)
    // obj is of type myclass
