Looking at how to determine the "Total" Page Count on HP 2575 All-in-one printer? I've seen directions for other HP printers but can't seem to find any for the HP 2575 All-in-one printer. I am trying to find approximately how many pages my printer has printed since I've owned it. Any help is much appreciated.

The manual says you should be able to use the Embedded Web Server to view statistics.

But whenever my header group resets the total count is also reseting.
for e.g.
I m getting the page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4, page 3 of 4, page 4 of 4 for my first record.
same way i am getting page 1 of 3 ,page 2 of 3, page 3 of 3 for my second record.
But the requirement is to display page 1 of 7, page 2 of 7, page 3 of 7, page 4 of 7 for the first header record.
And page 5 of 7, page 6 of 7 and page 7of 7 for the second record.
Is there any way to achieve this?

Unfortunately, we do not have any VIs in LabVIEW that can figure out the number of pages of a standard report. However, with the use of ActiveX calls you can achieve this task. Here are a couple of discussion forums which discuss this:

I have a Mac OS 10.6.7 that will not activate the scanner portion of an HP C7280 All in One - prints fine - but won't activate scanner.

I have the same problem with an HP Scanjet 8250 and my Epson Stylus NX400. I have reloaded allegedly updated drivers. I have researched using SANE. Neither scanner wants to work since the OS X10.6 update. I have found very little out there about this problem.
Can anyone help me make these bricks work? Really would like a solution that won't cost me hundreds to replace the equipment. Thanks so much.

How to determine the cursor record count before the "open cursor"?

Is it possible to determine the record count of an explicit cursor without running a count()? Say, my cursor definition is something like this,

I want to log the count of records returned by the above cursor prior to the first fetch, without running a count(1) for the query in cursor select.
I know adding " Count(1) over(order by null) " in the cursor SELECT will bring it. But that does not help me log the record count to some log file or table before opening the cursor for processing.
To conclude, my objective is to update the record count of cursor in some table before processing

Each select is a consistent read. Which means that if this is done as 2 select statements, the 1st select can see a different version of the data than the 2nd select statement. does. So if you want a count and that to be consistent and on the same version of the data than the select, it has to be done as part of the select.
Also consider what a cursor is. It is not a result set of sorts that is created in memory upfront - with a convenient interface that tells you the size/number of rows of that result set.
A cursor is basically a program that reads database data as input and produce output. A fetch from a cursor is an instruction for this program to execute and output data.
There's no data set that is created by the cursor from which the count can be determined. The cursor program does have state variables - like +%RowCount+ that specifies how many rows the cursor has thus far output. And you need to run that cursor to the end (no more output) in order to determine the total number of rows output by the cursor.

I need to call a procedure in my after report trigger, and send the total number of pages as a parameter. However, a bind reference only applies to columns or parameters.
I have the total pages displayed on my report, I just can't reference that field in my trigger.
Does anyone have any ideas?

For the type of printer you have it would not be added this way, those are only for ePrinters. What you can do is go back to the main screen of the app. From here choose a photo or document. At this point just above the print button on the bottom there is a small icon of a printer with a wrench, touch on this. Then along the top there is an option to select a printer, touch this, it shouldpull up a list of printers it detects on the network.
The main reason for actually adding a printer is so that it will be there even when you are not at home, so that it can eprint. With other printers you do not need to add it, just simply select it when you go to print.

WIA is Windows Image Acquisition, it is a proprietary Microsoft driver model and application programming interface (API) for Microsoft Windows Me and later Windows operating systems that enables graphics software to communicate with imaging hardware such as scanners, digital cameras and Digital Video-equipment. - Source
Please follow the instructions below.
Please hold down the windows flag key and the R to open the Run box.
Type services.msc and press Enter
Locate Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)
Right click and open Properties
Stop the service from the General tab and then Start it again
Verify that the Startup type is set to Automatic rather then manual
Also, look for 'Shell Hardware Detection' in the list of services. If it is not enabled/started, make sure to enable/start the service, and make sure the Startup Type set as Automatically from its properties.
Locate the 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC)' in the list of services. If it is not enabled/started, make sure to enable/start the service, and make sure the Startup Type set as Automatically as well.
If the issue persist, the HP Print and Scan Dr might help, otherwise I suggest contacting Microsoft.

I am unable to scan using the hp office jet pro 8500 wireless all in one printer from an I-MAC

I have a new I-MAC OS Lion computer and an older HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless all-in-one printer, scanner, fax, photo. I cannot scan, though I can print and I can fax. The error message says I must be connected to the network, and yet I am connected. The only diagnostic tool available is for MS systems only. Help???

Make sure to use any scan method available for Lion.
If you have the HP Scan application installed, be aware that the used software version is not intended for Lion.
Please follow the steps below to find what scan methods may be used on the OS:

If there is still any problem while trying to scan, also make sure to install the latest HP Printer Driver 2.9 by clicking the Apple icon and then Software Update.

How to get the total page number when using Crystal Report in JSP

In my JSP, I use the class CrystalReportViewer to generate and display the report views. But this class only sypply the function to get the info of the active view.
Thus with this info, I only can get the active view's page number. How can I get the report total page number without showing the last page first?

Anything you do without submitting to form has to be done on the client side (ususally by JavaScript) using data which has been send already from the server.
With JavaScript you can do quite a bit. You can download tables which don't necessarilly appear on the screen, loading them into JavaScript arrays by dynamically generating javascript. Then you can pick up events like drop-box selection and use these tables to chose what you do next (e.g. preloading other fields, setting drop box content etc.).
Or, you can cause forms to be submitted when actions like a selection happen without the user clicking a button. It's generally a matter of how much data you'd need to transmit.
Another posibility is to use a Java applet, which can generate requests to the server and handle the results as it chooses. That are a number of problems with that but occasionally it's the best solution.
What you can't do is to handle user input inside a JSP. The JSP has come and gone before the user even gets to see your form.

How can I get count of the total records shown in the report. When we set the report attributes, we have an option "Set Pagination from X to Y of Z"
Does anyone know how can I get the Z value from APEX variables.
I know we can use that query and get the count but I just want to know how we can use APEX Variables effectively.

Now will write the contains of file to DB,
But i have to insert the total count ie numberof record written from file to DB in my Trailer record.
can you tell me how can i get the total count of records in file and write it to trailer?
Also, I want the interface to rollback the data if something fails will loading the data from file., ie. if there are 100 records in file and 50 got transfer and something fails i want to rollabck the 50 records from DB.???

You can design a flow for Full load flow and incremental flow from flat file to Table.
Create a table at target database like.. (create table with last_execution and palce the V_FULL_LOAD value and LAST_EXECUTION_DT columns in last_execution table)
Add faltfile as table in model, create a variable as V_FULL_LOAD and make sure that the default values is 01-01-1900
Create one more variable like V_LAST_EXECUTION_DATE (in this variable write a case statement that if V_FULL_LOAD value is 'Y" then full load should happen and same time you should check that V_FULL_LOAD column is balnk then write insert statment else write update statement to update last_execution_dt column, similar for 'N')

I have to implement a business logic where in i will have to display the no. of pages generated for the report
Say for e.g. crytal report that's generated spans 25 pages in the report.
Then i will have to display a message to the user after the report generation something like "25 Pages generated"
So, how would i get this report page count so that i can fetch the value and display the same to the user.
Any sample code snippet would be of great help.

I am using crystal reports 2008 and i visited the link forwarded in your previous mail and got the solution for getting the lastpagenumber of the report.
nPages = crReport.FormatEngine.GetLastPageNumber(New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ReportPageRequestContext)
but, i don't find FormatEngine property for ReportDocument object.
I just wanted to know whether this property is availale in crystal reports 2008 or should i even install any service packs for this.
