How to diable snmp in wlse (Wireless LAN Solution Engine)

Hi,
I have disabled snmp in wlse, but still snmp is showing active , when we do vunuralbility test,
can someone help me to disable this snmp in wlse.
wlse model no: Cisco 1030
software:
WLSE-2.13FCS

I checked the switch with the snmp query tool.(IP and hostname.domain-name) -works fine-.
All switches I'am interrested can be reached with the tool.cdp an snmp is enabled on all switches.
I discovered two switches:
1.cdp only discovered directly connected access points but switch 172.22.4.50. is missing.

  • CWWLSE-1030-K9 Cisco WLSE Wireless LAN Solution EE 2.13 with AP 1242

Dear all, my customer has CWWLSE-1030-K9 Cisco WLSE Wireless LAN Solution EE 2.13 with 12 AP1242 (a/b/g) Radio 802.11g in place. Now he will buy additional AP what type of AP can i use because AP 12xx is EOS.

    Hello Dirk,
AP 1200 is EOS, and customers were encouraged to migrate to 1240 Series (which is also EOS now)
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/aironet-1200-series/eol_c51-506611.html
Therefore it is recommended to migrate to Cisco Aironet 1600 or Cisco Aironet 2600 Series.

  • Wireless LAN Solution Engine 2.5

    Hi,
we have still this box from Cisco, and we are looking at replacing it.
What is the product we should use to replace it? Seems that Cisco now has several options.
    Jorge

    Hi Jorge,
since we have no information regarding you wireless environment here a short overview.
For WLAN Management you have two choices:
    ● WLSE
    ● WLC / WCS
The WLSE manages the autonomous APs. This means these APs have a IOS running and if the management station fails, they are still working.
Therefore the WLSE is useable in decentral management environments and WAN links!
The WCS manages Lightweight APs. These APs get their software (not IOS) from the WLC firmware and they are upgraded via WLC upgrade. These APs are NOT autonomous. If the WLC fails the APs stop working.
The WLC is the best solution for central managed environments without the problems that WAN links may gice you. Remember: If a WAN link fails the attached APs stop working.
The WLCs can run in a master/slave mode for redundancy, but this will drive your costs up!
If you have many WLCs running in different locations you can manage them with the WCS!
On the other hand in large central deployments the WLC / WCS may reduce the usual mainteneance like AP Softwareupgrade, setup and enable RF Management and some other tasks.
Of course you can deploy IOS to the APs with the WLSE, but you have to copy the IOS Image to the WLSE, create a job and check wether all devices succeseeded. Within the WCS Upgrade the APs get the appropiate sotware autmatic!
In WLSE you have to setup and enable RF Management manually.
To get the long story short: Have some thougts on you deployment:
    ● Central
    ● Decentral
How Many APs do you have per location! Better plan two WLCs for redundancy per management domain and location! At the moment one WLC can manage 100 APs. So you should think about the cost for managing 500 APs in a redundant manner!
Actual WLCs can manage up to 12, 25, 50 or 100 APs per Controller, depending on the type of WLC you have ordered. The WLC connot be upgraded from e.g 12 to 100 APs!
One WLSE can manage up to 1900 APs in a WAN deployment (i know data sheets stating 2500, but a costumer of mine gets problems with 1900+ in a live environment).
How many time do you spend in "lower level" work like AP Upgrades, AP configuration, RF Management? In a large campus a WLC might give you some advances in combination with wireless phones, configuring QoS through predefined classes and so on.
The WLSE gives you the more granulary acces to the wireless network!
I guess this should be enough for the moment.
As ScottMac writes in his posts:
    Good Luck.
    Frank

  • Wireless LAN Solution Engine: discover fails !!!

I tried to discover 3550-Switche with our Cisco WLSE V2.5. Two 3550 devices working fine (V12.2.(8)EA1)+(V12.2.(9)EA1).
Other 3550 devices with V12.2.(13)EA1 didn't respond. I don't know why. (same config)
-I checked the SNMP-connection with the WLSE query
    tool. Works fine!
-ACL ist activ but the WSLE IP-Address ist permited.
    Works fine with two devices.
    Thank you in advance

  • Seeking advice for Wireless LAN solution

I have a site that has a pipeyard in which I am considering covering with Wireless LAN. The transport vehicles that roam the pipeyard have terminals which currently use cellular cards & VPN to connect to an app server that is updated with stock that they move. The server is actually in an office adjacent to the pipeyard. The cellular coverage is poor and the connection drops are frustrating to the operators. For this reason, I am considering covering the area with Wireless LAN and replacing their cellular cards with 802.11a/b/g radios. The pipeyard has no obstructions. The area is outdoors and is about 122 acres in size.
Does anyone have suggestions about what Cisco solution could be applied to this pipeyard so that the mobile operators can maintain continuous connection to their server as they move about the yard?

For starters, you'll need to use mesh access points. You have the following choices:
Cisco Aironet 1520 Series Lightweight Outdoor Access Points
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5679/ps8368/data_sheet_c78-532987.html
Cisco Aironet 1500 Series Lightweight Outdoor Mesh Access Points

Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Outdoor Access Point/Bridge
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5679/ps5861/product_data_sheet09186a00802252e1.html

    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps469/products_data_sheet09186a008022551d.html
Next, you'll need to choose your antennae:

  • How to change RTS Threshold in Wireless LAN Controllers

I've read some opinions that lowering the RTS threshold can help in some noisy wireless environments. I have found how this can be done on standalone APs but cant seem to implement the change on a WLC 2112. Does anyone know if this is possible and how to do it. Thanks in advance.

According to Cisco this feature does not exist in controller-based environments. This is what I get when I try to configure the RTS setting from the CLI:
    (Cisco Controller) config>slot 1 rts threshold 1024
enable rts/cts only available for Mesh APs.
I have submitted a feature request so we'll see what happens. Thanks for reading and please let me know if you have any pertinent information.

  • Wireless LAN Management

    Members,
Any suggestions as to which is the best WLAN management application to use for AP 1200s?
Our WLAN Network is small at the moment but could grow a lot bigger.
I would like to try Cisco Wireless LAN solution Engine, but unfortunately they do not make available an evaluation copy.
    So, any ideas?
    Regards,
    Martin.

    Martin,
I am aware of a solution that effeciently manages, moitors and helps in mass-configuration of small and medium sized WLAN infrastructure including all Cisco Accesspoints, Switches and routers.
If you are interested send me an e-mail at [email protected] I can refer you to the appropriate contact. They do provide an evaluation copy.

  • How to replace the certificate of Cisco 2106 wireless LAN controller for CAPWAP ?

I have interested in CAPWAP feature and I download the open capwap project to make Access Controller (AC) and Wireless Terminal Point (WTP). I had built the AC which used PC and WTP which used Atheros AP. The CAPWAP feature work well when I enabled the CAPWAP that used my own AC  and WTP. When I got the Cisco 2106 wireless LAN controller (Cisco WLC), I configured the Cisco WLC to instead my own AC but I got the authorize fail in Cisco WLC side. It seem the Cisco WLC could not recognize the CAPWAP message which sent form my own WTP. I think this issue just need to synchronize the certificate between Cisco WLC and WTP.So I need to replace the Cisco WLC's certificate manually. Does anyone know how to replace the certificate manually with Cisco WLC ?
    Best Regards,
    Alan

Unfortunately this Support Community is for Cisco Small Business & Small Business Pro product offerings.  The WLC2106 is a traditional Cisco product.  You can find this type of support on the Cisco NetPro Forum for all traditional Cisco products.

  • NB200 (PLL20E) - How to turn on wireless LAN?

    Hi all,
Just received a NB200 PLL20E and the F8 Hotkey does not turn on the wireless LAN. I have tried updating the BIOS (was up to date) and the Atheros driver...still no luck.
    Any thoughts?

Wlan antenna must be enabled in order to be able to establish the WLan connection!!!!
Read what previous users said: wireless communication can be enabled with the key combination FN+F8 and in BIOS.
Pressing the FN+F8 would enable following conditions:
    Enable BT only
    Enable WLan only
    Enable 3G only (some models)
    Enable all devices
    Disable all devices
If Fn+F8 doesnt work then you should check the software which controls the FN buttons. The Toshiba Value Added Package includes the software which is needed to get the HotKeys (FnF8) to work.

  • How to use SNMP on WRT160Nv2?

    Hello,
I would like to do some monitoring tests related to ISP DSL traffic calculations. I suspect it in false traffic calculations.
I would like to know if my WRT160Nv2 supports SNMP and how to access it (SNMP Community String etc.)?
    Thank you,
    Alexei Cornea

    Hello,
Unfortunately I can't use the solution that you suggested.
My Router is doing the PPPoE connection. "Internet" interface is connected to an ADSL Modem that is configured in Bridge mode. Linksys Router's IP is 192.168.0.1/32. Modem's IP address is 192.168.1.254/32. There's no possibility to access this IP from PCs (DHCP 192.168.0.0/28). On Linksys WRT160N it's not possible to route 192.168.1.254/32 to the "Internet" Interface because Linksys router itself don't have an IP from 192.168.1.0/24 and it is receiving it's public/internet ip through PPPoE protocol.
I have connections by LAN on all 4 ports and a few Wireless connections. All devices are doing downloading/uploading.
Unfortunately I can use only the Linksys router as a PPPoE initiator. But, I really need to monitor all the traffic that is passing through "Internet" interface. Developing a new firmware that will support SNMP could be the best solution that Linksys Company can provide.
Please help me with a solution.
    Best regards,
    Alexei Cornea

  • How do I set up a wireless network at home??

    Hi,
I am new to Mac's. I want to set up a wireless network at home, but I have not got a clue about AirPort, what it is or what it does!?! I am getting a new Mac, but my wife is currently using a Dell Windows laptop and our daughter is using a Windows PC. How do I set up a wireless broadband network at home which works with my Mac and my familys PC's? What do I need to buy and what do I need to do with them? I already have a broadband connection at home. Currently, my wife's PC is connected directly to the broadband modem (via an ethernet cable) that was supplied by the brodband company when I signed up to broadband.
Thanks for all your help with this.

scooter has provided links to Apple's pages for the AirPort Express and AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS).
Both of these devices are IEEE 802.11g wireless routers (also called base stations). If you have an Ethernet connection to the Internet (for example DSL or cable modem), you can connect either of these devices directly to that connection and create a wireless network. Since Ethernet and IEEE 802.11g are worldwide standards you can connect any compatible device (including PCs running Windows).
Every computer needs a unique IP address. You can think of an IP address as a street address for your house. A unique address guarantees that items addressed to you get to you.
Typically ISPs provide users with a single (one) public IP address. A public IP address is visible to anyone on the Internet. A router uses the single IP address provided by the ISP and creates multiple local (non-public) IP addresses for you computers. This allows you to use multiple computers.
If you need to connect both wireless and Ethernet computers you will need the AEBS. The AEBS provides a separate LAN port for Ethernet computers.
BTW, you can accomplish the same thing with any inexpensive wireless router.
The advantage of the AEBS over other routers is (a) built-in 56k modem for connecting to a dial-up ISP and (b) USB port for a single compatible printer.
The advantage of the AirPort Express over other routers is (a) sound output port for streaming music to a stereo and (b) USB port for a single compatible printer.

  • Windows 8 and Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

    Hi!
I hava a Toshiba L650 - 107 PSKI JE and I am having a problem with the my wireless network adapter on windows 8.
My network adapter is Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC and works fine on windows 7. Two days ago I formatted my hard drive and install windows 8. The problem is that for much drivers I keep installing, The wireless keep turned off. There's no way I can move the slide from off to on.
I already tried a lot of drivers from toshiba and from realtek but doesn't work.
I went to see the Network Connections (Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections) and the Ethernet is fine, I connect a cable and it is fine, but wi-fi says "Not connected".
How do I solve this problem?

    Satellite L650-107 (PSK1JE-00P003EP)
    Downloads here.
A computer from Portugal? (Specifications attached.)
This driver should work on Windows 8.
       Realtek Wireless LAN Driver
But your problems may be more fundamental. Prior to loading Toshiba-specific programs, you probably need to install something like this.
Toshiba System Driver - Windows 8 beta
And for the function keys to work, you'll need still another Toshiba utility.
