How to differentiate an internal from an external candidate in E-recruiting

Hi experts,
I need your help. I'm creating a Z report to show the % of internal and external candidates who were hired or choosen in a selection process. I will have two columns the first one will show the internal candidates and the second one the external candidates. I'll also display the reasons why a candidate were reproved on the selection, for this reason I also have to separate internal from external candidates.
I've seem some threads where you say that the best way is to find the relation NA<CP<P. Is this the only way or there is any other way as a module function where I put NA and it show me if it's an internal or external candidate.
I'll really appreciate any help!
Best regards,
Thais

Hello Thais,
reportig in SAP E-Recruiting is quite difficult due to the missing historization in some infotypes. A lot of changes are not historized so it is not possible to get any other valid information than the current status. Looking back into the past is in the best case unsure in the worst impossible. External candidates become internal candidates on hiring and internal candidates become external candidates on termination, maternity leave, ....
It is very difficult to get the percentage of external und internal hirings based on e-recruiting data. It is much easier to get this from the HR core as (at least in a perfect world) you just count hiring actions and org. change actions. Of course not every org. change is usually an "internal hiring" in e-recruiting.
If you want to get these numbers purely from e-recruiting data, the best approach from my experience is getting the candidacies in hired status -> get the application for the candidacy -> get the publication for the application -> get the publication channel candidate type. This information is not changing over the time and not depending on the candidate. Restrictions of this approach are usually direct assignments from talent pool, if internal and external candidates can release their profile. If you do not request an application for the candidacy you can not determine the candidate type. Furthermore in many organizations the e-recruiting process ends with hiring the cadidate. Noone maintains rejections for the no shows so you get too many hirings from the e-recruting data. But perhaps this approach works in your scenario.
Kind Regards
PS: The method mentioned above works fine to find out if a candidate is currently an internal or external candidate. Unfortunately these methods are often to slow for mass use in reporting. So from a performance point of view reading HRP1001 relations and HRP5102 INACTIVE flag is the better solution.

How do I open files from an external drive?  It's plugged into the second slot to the end.  Did I plug it into the right place and how do I find the drive when trying to attach a file in an email?

Files on an external hard drive open just like files on the internal drive - but I get the idea that you are having a problem just finding and seeing those files. Is that correct?

That's odd - if you open Disk Utility (Applications->Utilities) and select the disk(s), how are they formatted? If you're only going to be used with your Mac, they should be formatted as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".

How can I transfer files from one external HD (WD My Passport 2T) to another external HD (Seagate Backup Plus 2T)?  WD drive was improperly ejected (although we did tell it to eject) and now Finder no longer recognizes it.   Using MacBook Pro and I just upgraded to Yosemite before this happened. Was told at Apple Store to use Disk Utility to repartition, but it failed.  It says to backup files and restore.  But how do I backup files?  Or would appreciate any other suggestions to repair drive.

You may drag & drop between external hds.
    Should you run into trouble.
Take the exernal drive appart.  Take out the harddrive.  Try reading the data via a usb adapter. Put a household finan on the hd.

Stop using the drive immediately, un plug it.
Buy a copy of ProSoft DataRescue 4 and use it to search for deleted files.

  • How do you transfer info from an external hard drive from a PC to a Mac

How do you transfer info from a external hard drive from a pc to a imac?

Expanding on what Niel said, a Mac can mount and read just about any hard drive from a Windows system. It can't write to an NTFS-formatted drive without third-party drivers, but it can read them. So as Niel indicated, you should be able to just connect the drive to your Mac and drag-copy over whatever you want. If you want to save things from the Mac to that drive, then it will need to be formatted either as FAT32 or exFAT, or if it's NFTS you'll again need drivers.

how do i retrieve data from my external hard drive?

If your hard drive can be detected and shows up as a drive letter in my computer but you can't access your files, then you can recover your data off it with data recovery software easily. This way is the easiest and the most inexpensive way to recover your data.If you bring it to a computer repair shop that is available for data recovery servise, they will cost you $500-1000 or more.Hmm, a lot of money.
I managed to recover data from crashed hard drive with Tenorshare Data Recovery. If needed, you can download it and scan your hard drive for free to preview whether your data can be recovered. It will show you thumbnails for recoverable pictures.

How do I input songs from my external hard drive, taken from a PC, to a Mac?

Just a few song tracks, or your whole library?  If just a few tracks, drag them from the drive to the open iTunes library window or playlist window.  If your whole library drag the whole iTunes folder to your computer.  Hold down the option key while starting and guide it to the library.itl file in that folder.  If you need to merge libraries post back because that's a much longer post.

How do i Transfer Movies from my external hard drive to my ipad2?

    Another way.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

  • How do I sync music from an external drive

I recently moved all my iTunes content including music to an external hard drive (multiple reasons: space, SONOS capability, etc.). In addition, I purchased a new iMac. I can wipe the nano, no problem, but how do I get music from the external drive that is not on my computer (but which iTunes will play via iCloud) onto the nano?
Do I need to download everything back to my computer from iCloud and sync that way or is there some toggle I'm missing that allows me to load the external drive --> iTunes--> nano?
    Thanks!

    Jairy,
You may need to run through the following steps:
Once you've done that, follow the next set of steps to change your iTunes Media folder location to the new drive and then consolidate your library to the new location. This not only copies your audio and media files over, it also retains your ratings and playlists. Note: If you move your music and media to an external hard drive, you will need to have that drive connected to access your files. No matter what, it's always a good idea to have a backup of the media you have in iTunes.
    Open iTunes.
From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Advanced button in the Preferences window.
Click the Change button in the iTunes Media folder location pane.
In the Change Media Folder Location window that appears, navigate to the location where you would like your new iTunes Media folder to be created.
Note: By default, your iTunes Media folder is a folder named "iTunes Media" in ~/Music/iTunes/ where the tilde "~" represents your home directory.
Click the New Folder button in the Change Media Folder Location window.
In the New Folder window that appears, enter the name of the new iTunes Media folder.
    Click Create.
Click Choose in the Change Media Folder Location window.
Click OK in the Advanced window.
From the File menu, choose Library and then Organize Library if using iTunes 9 or later. If you're using iTunes 7 or iTunes 8 for Mac, choose File > Library and then Consolidate Library.
In the Organize Library (or Consolidate Library) window, select Consolidate files.
Click OK.  Important: This action copies all of your music and media files to the new location. There must be enough hard disk space available to copy all of your music and media files.
After the folder has been copied, locate your original iTunes Media folder, and drag it to the Trash. Important: Don't remove the iTunes Library files that may be in the same location as the iTunes Media folder. For more information about the iTunes Library files, see this article.
Quit iTunes and then open iTunes once more.
If you receive the alert "The folder containing "iTunes Library" cannot be found, and is required. Please choose or create a new iTunes library," you most likely moved the iTunes Library files. If this is the case, move them out of the Trash and back to where they were.
If you can open and close iTunes without encountering the above alert, empty the Trash.
