How to digitally record audio? (iPad to MAC)

Hello,
I am generating sounds internally in my iPad 3 and I play it through the earphones. The thing is that I would like to record the generated samples in its digital form using a MAC Book Pro. We are doing it doing in its analog form but we are not achieving good results at low volumes.
How is the best way to get this?
We are managing 3 solutions here:
1- Instead of send the samples to the audio codec they could be sent to RAM and saved into an txt file or similar. Then this txt file could be loaded on the MAC.
2- We could route them to HDMI port using the dock and connect the cable to the HDMI port of the MAC.
3 - We could route them to USB port using the dock and connect the cable to a USB port of the MAC.
I don't think that the HDMI/USB ports of the MAC can act as a device (slave) and then record the digital samples in some file. Is it possible? How?
Regards.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How would I record audio from iphone into computer?

i was wondering if anybody could help me.
i want to hook up my ipod to my computer and record the audio from the iphone
how would i go about doing that?

The OP would like to "record audio from the iPhone", not copy audio files across.
Once we find out which audio (existing files or live through the mic) we'll be able to offer suggestions.
For exisatinf audio, the first choice is obviously iTunes and sync, but I suspect it's the latter, in which case I'd recommend the free app: Megaphone Free.
It directs the sound picked up by the microphone to the headphone socket, so you can then just record the Line-in signal on the Mac.

  • Which digital recorder works with a Mac Mini?

Has anybody bought a Digital Recorded that can attach ti a Mac Mini? I've read up on the Olympus and Sony ones, but it seems none of them work with a Mac ? Do any of these recorders attach to a Mac through a USB ??? directly to a Mac ???

Olympus' DS-330 connects via the USB port, and works for me...But I believe it's a discontinued model. Olympus posts their instruction manuals online!

  • Simplest Ways to Record Audio on a Mac

I'm looking for some simple and inexpensive apps to use to record audio on my iMac running Mavericks. Mostly I'd want to record streaming radio broadcasts, much like using a DVR for TV. Someone showed my Audio Hijack Pro, but it was costly and seemed very complex to use. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I did think of that after I had posted. so now when working on video if I have the dv device with me Ill use the haedphone jack if not Im assuming I do what I did?
what I mean is if I dont have the device with me its just me and my mac book pro and external drive and Im viewing video on the mac on its screen
thanks for pointing this out other wise I would have been posting again when I was trying to get it to tape!!!

  • Digital recorder audio not syncing with video footage

Am I missing the obvious and easy method? When we shoot weddings, we always use a separate digital audio recorder and lav in the groom's pocket as a backup device. When it comes time to use that audio, it always goes askew compared to the video's audio. My guess is this happens because the video is only recording 29.97 frames per second and not a full 30, whereas the digital recorder provides a real-time recording. So, I end up having to shorten the audio every 10 seconds or so (by cutting out a few frames worth of audio) to keep everything synced. Is there a way to convert the audio from the pocket recorder to a video format so it will stay in sync without the need for editing it? Thanks!

I tried the resampling and even though original file was 44.1khz and I did convert it to 48khz, after a few minutes go by the file still goes seriously out of sync. It's a 34 minute audio clip, and by the end of the clip, its about 3-4 seconds out of sync. Any other thoughts? Thanks!

  • How can I record Audio while listening to another Audio Track?

I wanted to record a duo with both parts played by myself but I can't get Logic EXpress 8 to let me hear the previously recorded Audio track while recording the second Audio track. I do have an Edirol UA-25 and thought i had it set up to make that possible.
If any of you know the answer I would appreciate it greatly to have an answer to such a basic operation, or is Logic so far behind that I will HAVE to upgrade to Leopard and buy Protools?

    Hello,
as far as i know, the advanced mode of the EA-25 requires you to install the original Edirol driver. The simple mode has basic core audio support, but the advanced mode allows MIDI and more than 44.1 kHz.
However, you shouldn't deselect Advanced, if it works okay - leave it on!
Just look if the "Digital in" switch is set to off, and set the small selector switch for the sample rate at the back to 44.1 kHz. With these settings, you should be able to play back and record at the same time. If not, the problem is not the UA-25.

  • How do i record audio on macbook pro?

I've plugged a Blue brand "Yeti" USB microphone in, but this is my first time recording audio.  What do I do next?

Your Mac should have come with GarageBand installed.  You can use that to make recordings.
There are other good audio apps available.
Audacity is one, and it's free.
SoundStudio 4 is excellent, available in the App Store
WireTap Studio is also excellent  (also does some things Audacity & Sound Studio can't do)

  • How can i record my ipad mini?

Is there a way to record your ipad without jailbreak because i don't want to jailbreak it??

If you mean recording the screen, then the only way to record the screen would be with a video camera or to use one of the apps such as Reflector that uses AirPlay Mirroring to display the iPad's screen on your computer where you can then use screen capture software to capture the iPad's display.

  • How do you record audio in imovie?

i'm trying to use the internal mic to record audio with video at the same time.  like a youtube type video...  everytime i record the video is fine but there is no sound whatsoever even though when i click the voice over button my voice registers.

ok, so maybe the problem is that imovie does not do what i want.  can audio and video be recorded at the same time?  i want to play and sing and have a video and audio recording; not a video of me playing and singing and then have to record a voice over of me playing and singing as well.  that's just silly extra work...and i'd have to sing and play it exactly the same like i'm a voice over actor.    which i'm not.

  • How can I record audio playing on my ipad on my new macbook pro?

I am using a music app on my ipad without "sound export" capabilities.  I want to record the sound using either a) another app on my ipad, or preferably b) by using the 1/8" port on my ipad to send the sound to be recorded via software on my macbook.
When trying the latter, I can't seem to get a signal.  I tried all sound settings, the software called LineIn and Audio Hijak, and still no luck :/.
    Any ideas?

You should be able to import photos using Image Capture (which is built in), iPhoto or Aperture. Are you using one of these programs without success? What happens when you try?
If the camera and computer simply aren't connecting, you may want to consider getting a card reader (or, if you have the right MacBook Pro and the right card, using the one built into the MacBook Pro), then pop the memory card out of the camera and connect it directly to the computer. This is a better option anyway, since it does not drain the camera's battery to transfer the photos.

  • How do I record audio using Virus TI and Apogee Duet? What is the best set up?

I am running Logic 9 with Virus TI Snow and an Apogee Duet. I have been using the Virus sound card to bounce virus sounds to audio on logic 9 but want to record the audio through the apogee sound card. How do I do this? I have tried but cant seem to monitor the sound. What is the best setup?
Also does anyone know if it will make much difference in sound quality using the Apogee sound card as opposed to the Virus?

    Hi,
I'm doing this from memory, as I'm not in front of my Mac right now.. but... The Apogee installer should have installed an "apogee" control panel app on your computer. [maybe re-install?].
In Logic's Menu, go to > Options> Open Apogee Control Panel, to open it [if it's properly installed...]
When you launch that app, it has an option on one of the screens to "monitor" your inputs and adjust levels in and out of logic and, bypass the latency that causes a recording delay when doing live vocals, etc..  You can find that how to do that if you get stuck, via goggle or on the Apogee site.
As far as which sound card option is better [Virus or Apogee] DEFINITELY Apogee. Apogee is "studio standard" for high quality sound in major digital studios world wide. I'm not saying the virus is bad, but Apogee is amazing.
I went back to my old recordings and mixes I did without the Apogee and was shocked at what I did NOT hear !
    Definitely Apogee !
I have a Virus TI. When you run it as a plug-in in Logic, I believe you should be able to select and simply "render the track as audio" or "mix the solo track to disc and re-import it, directly bypassing any interface by going directly to disc [via the usb cable] for the highest quality sound. Again probably Google, YouTube [tutorial videos] or the Virus site has info or downloadable manuals or Logic tutorials..
    Hope this helps !

  • MAudio Delta 1010 PCI Digital Recording Rack Mount and Mac Pro

A great digital audio rack-mount converter is MAudio's Delta 1010. It uses a PCI card for which I heard one could get a replacement PCI-X interface card, but such is not available for PCI-Express slots which are all the Mac Pro workstations have.
Does anybody know of a solution? Perhaps an interface that converts PCI or PCI-X to FireWire, USB, or PCI-Express? In other words, any way at all to make use of equipment for which the manufacturer doesn't supply a Mac Pro'able interface?
(And my apologies if this is just a silly question; I'm not super hip to all the hardware stuff.)
    Thanks,
    Rich Apple

$2000 US Dollars for the Magma PE6R4 converter (less in Canadian Dollars, of course) would be a pretty high price to pay to save my $800 Delta 1010 audio solution...
