Whenever a pdf is downloaded by IE, it will be openned by Acrobat automatically.
This disturbs me to download the next pdf.

I like the feature of the PDF being opened on the new tab on firefox browser windows. But the newer version (3.6 or 4.0) will automatically open PDF in a pop up adobe apps. How do I keep the PDF open on the new tab as before? thank you

Right click the PDF. Choose "Open With..." Select Reader.

PDF is an end destination format - although Acrobat is capable of making minor changes to a file (e.g. to correct typos) it is not a word processor or DTP application. Major changes must be done in the original document, and the PDF file re-exported.
You can copy text from a file by selecting it and right-clicking, or you can save the file as plain or formatted text. To make small changes to the text on a page, use the touchup tool - see the help file for more info.

Is there a way to make a linked PDF open in Acrobat instead of the browser?

I would like to make a PDF open in Acrobat instead of the browser, so that the user can see its interactive features. Is there a way to do this in Muse? Or does it always spend on the user's browser settings?

This would depend on the browser plugin installed , if browser does not have reader plugin then pdf will not open in browser.
Not much can be done via Muse , but you can try some settings on pdf like password protected etc.

The Safari web browser contains a feature, enabled by default, which causes all files considered "safe" to be automatically opened once they have finished downloading. Safari considers the following file types to be safe:
- Pictures
- Movies
- Sounds
- PDF files
-Text documents
- Disc images (.dmg files)
- Other archive types
Although it can be convenient while enabled, this can be a very dangerous feature when it comes to your security. It can be disabled in a few easy steps.
> Open your Safari web browser by clicking on the Safari icon in the dock.
> Click on Safari in your Safari menu, located at the top of your screen. When the drop-down menu appears, choose Preferences.
> Select the General tab from the Preferences window, which is now overlaying your browser window.
You will now see a check box labeled "Open 'safe' files after downloading", located near the middle of the Preferences window. If this box is checked, click on the check mark and verify that it is no longer active.
Click on the red circle/x located in the top left hand corner of the Preferences window to complete the process. You will now be returned to your main browser window.

How Can I Prevent Emailed PDF (created in Acrobat)From Opening in Preview?

When I email my PDF page, if it is opened in another default viewer ('Preview', etc..) it opens up at the wrong size, (it is designed to open full screen and does not in 'Preview"), and the hot links do not work and are cold. Is this due to people having older operating systems and/or old versions of applications? or something else?
Can I somehow treat the pdf on my end before I email it in order to ensure that the pdf is opened in Acrobat and reads and performs correctly?
I know I can include a note in the body copy of the email asking that it be opened in Acrobat, but I wish to 'take out the moving parts', so to speak, because one cannot always count on people to cooperate; (we all know how easy it is to just hit the 'Delete' button.).
Please someone tell me there is a way around this and a procedure that will ensure that a pdf open up as an acrobat document by default (help!).

You really can't prevent it opening in Preview. There was a post recently (in the forms area I think) about writing some information to provide information in Preview as I recall. You should indicate in your e-mail that the PDF should be opened in Acrobat or Reader and that the use of Preview may create an unacceptable presentation.

How can I make my PDF open to "Fit One Full Page to Window" by default regardless of who is opening it?

Hi, everyone. I am currently creating PDFs that have different page sizes (2 pages at 8.5" x 11" and other pages that range from 40"w x 80"h to 150"w x 150"h). I'm trying to package some artwork templates and artwork guidelines together for my clients to make it easier for them to access this information.
The current issue I am running into is that I cannot figure out how to make these PDFs open with a default view of "Fit One Full Page to Window". I know how to set the default on my Acrobat Reader but I need it to default to this view when someone else opens it on their computer to view. (PDF currently opens the first page correctly but the rest of the pages are not previewing to fit page based on their page size. The only thing that reacts the way I want these documents to be viewed is the "Fit One Full Page In Window" option but I need to know how to default the PDF to view this way every time.)
Any help is appreciated! I'm under a deadline so the sooner I can resolve this the better!

There is an option for the Initial View that is "Magnification:" "Fit Page". And this works for the initial page when the PDF is opened and it does not matter what the page size it, Acrobat/Reader will automatically fill the screen with the page. If you want the zoom type to change with each page then you need add a page open script to each page to set the pages zoom type to "zoomtype.fitP"

Using Firefox 19.02
When I receive an email with an Excel, Word, or PDF file attachment, and I click download, firefox opens up the associated program for all my users, however when you click on file>save-as you are not presented with the dialog box to perform a save.
Excel and Word, no fix at all. Other than different browser or to click download, right click and go to folder, and then copy it out of there to another folder and open it.
Help, what is going on here????

When i attempt to download pdf file, a pop up opens and the option shown it are "save" and "cancel" only. There is no such option called "Open" in that pop up. I use Adobe reader version 10.1.3. Kindly provide me what settings i need to change in IE10 browser, so that i get "open", "save" and "cancel" button in the popup, when i download pdf file. The browser which i use is IE10.

I don't get any pop-up when clicking on a PDF link in IE10 / IE11; it just opens in the browser.
What options do you get when you right-click on a PDF link, e.g. on http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/adobe_reader_reference.pdf ?
P.S. are you running IE10 in 64-bit mode, by any chance?

How to disable photo-downloader for ever ?

after installing Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 my PC always shows an active downloader icon in the systray. I don't want this program to run for ever (or at each startup). Even deactivating is only valid until the next reboot.
How can I disable this program ?

Hi Casik,
You can disable the downloader by right clicking the icon and selecting disable. After this the icon is still visible in system tray but Downloader doe snot launch automatically.
There have been some posts in the past about removing the icon from system tray. However I have not tried the suggestions and cannot tell you for sure whether we they work.

You can also check the startup setting:
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my home page" "Show a blank page"
Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.
