How to disable Adobe Acrobat popups

I installed the turnkey solution and, when doing so, assumed that I would need PDF generator - it turns out that I don't. As a result I'm now stuck with the situation in which my Adobe Acrobat Professional trial has expired and, whenever I try to view one of my forms (e.g. preview) I can't. A few related questions - if anyone can help in answering any of this I'd really apprecaite it:
- How do I tell workbench to not rely on Adobe Acrobat Professional - presumably it shouldn't require this SW. I tried to unistnall this SW but ended up getting system errors which I am unable to resolve.
- How do I disbale or remove components. i.e. I have PDF generator installed but now want to remove it.

After you uninstall Acrobat, have tried opening LC Designer 8.1 from the start menu then using the "Set Designer 8.1 As Default" button in Tools->Options->Workspace?
Also, does Designer 8.1 run, and does the preview tab on forms have
the same behavior as workspace?
You could also try opening in Reader before hitting preview, found this in the LC Designer 8.1 help in section "About previewing and testing forms":
>>The Preview PDF tab appears only when Acrobat or Adobe Reader is installed. By default, if you have both Acrobat and Adobe Reader installed, LiveCycle Designer ES starts Acrobat automatically to preview the form. To use Adobe Reader to preview the form, you must start Adobe Reader before you click the Preview PDF tab.

  • How to disable Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader in Safari

    How do I disable Adobe Acrobat Reader to prevent Safari from using it to open PDFs? I have Safari 7.0.5, OS X v10.9.4. FYI, there is nothing in my User> HD> Library> Internet Plugins folder. And I've already right clicked on a PDF in Finder and selected the option to always use Preview to open PDFs. But Safari still opens PDFs with Acrobat Reader. Thanks

    Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
    Step 2
    There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
    If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    and check the box marked
              Allow Plug-ins
    Then click
              Manage Website Settings...
    and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
    Step 4
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder
    from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
    From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 5
    The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others—I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 6
    Do as in Step 4 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

    how to set adobe acrobat 9 pro as pdf default program on mac snow leopard OS?

    I say to highlight more than one if you can because if the PDF you highlight was made by using Acrobat, it will change all PDF's made by Acrobat but if you have one made by some other product, it may not change them to open with Acrobat.
    So in other words, at some point you may have to do it to a PDF made by some other product.

    How to convert adobe/acrobat files in to a word format

    Hi UNWLA,
    Adobe Reader XI uses Adobe Export PDF online to convert the file into Word.
    You can go to File > Save As > Word or Excel Online
    You can even use Acrobat XI to convert a pdf to word document.
    Go to File > Save as other... > Microsoft Word > Word document / Word 97-2003 document
    You can even make a selection of any table in the pdf document and right click and select 'export as ' > Word document.
    Or,
        Open a file in Acrobat XI.
        Choose Tools > Content Editing > Export File to Word document.
        Name the Word file and save it in a desired location.

    Are you mixing Adobe Acrobat with the Adobe Reader?
    If you have Acrobat on your computer you need to associate PDFs with Reader to open in it.
    You also need to get the latest security patches for Reader.

  • How to uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 completely?

    How to uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 and Adobe Download Manager completely?
    I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 and I don't want to uninstall that.

    Hi
    Most Mac applications come in self-contained packages (ctrl-click, or right-click, & you will see Show Package Contents), they can just be dragged to the trash.
    Some applications have their own uninstaller which must be run.
    With Adobe Reader 8, I believe the icon in Applications is a folder so just drag it to the trash & empty the trash. I believe Download Manager (Applications/Utilities) should be the same. Someone may know different.
    There is also AppZapper or AppDelete. These work by you dragging & dropping the application you wish to delete onto its icon, AppZapper/AppDelete then pulls all parts of that application together then moves it to the trash.

    You can't if you don't have physical access to it. Just install it on the new machine and if you have problems with activation call the number for your country and explain the situation to them. They should be able to help you out with it.

  • Disabling Adobe Acrobat - how to?

    Hi all, I'm running Safari 3.0.4 on a MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.5.1. I installed Adobe CS3, and with it came Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. Although I do like Adobe Acrobat, I do not want it to be the preferred reader in Safari - I would like preview to be the default. What is the easiest way for me to get Safari to use Preview over Adobe? I searched all of the Safari preferences and could not find a solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Bryan

    Hi Bryan,
    Trash this file and restart Safari:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
    Safari should then default back to the built-in Preview PDF viewer it has.

  • Help~How to disable Adobe Updater in Reader 8.*/9.*?

    Does anyone here know how to disable the Adobe Updater by registry or Group Policy?(if possible)
    I won't like to manually disable them by "Help" -> "Check for updates"
    The following registry key only works in 6.*/7.*
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\6.0\Updater]
    "bShowInstCompDialog"=dword:00000000
    "bShowNotifDialog"=dword:00000000
    "iUpdateFrequency"=dword:00000000
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\7.0\Updater]
    "bShowInstCompDialog"=dword:00000000
    "bShowNotifDialog"=dword:00000000
    "iUpdateFrequency"=dword:00000000
    Help~

    I don't know where that preference item is stored. But if it's in the registry, I would do the following if I were in your situation.
    *export the entire registry
    *set the no-update preference, according to Aaron's suggestion
    *export the entire registry again (to a different name)
    *compare the two files (e.g. with windiff); that should show you what's changed in the registry
