How to Disable Auto Updates on Flash Player 10 using mms.cfg
Hi Friends,
I am a newbee into this.I am trying to install a customized Adobe Flash Player 10.2.153.1 in which auto updates are disabled. I went through the Adobe guidelines and found that it is possible to do the same using a MMS.CFG file. Can anyone tell me how exactly this would look like. I will be extremely thankful if someone can attach a sample of the same.
One more question...
When we disable auto updates using mms.cfg file, will this be updated in the Global Settings Manager ?
Tries from my end till now:
I tried to create a mms.cfg by editing a txt file and adding "AutoUpdateDisable=0 " and then saving teh same as mms.cfg using UTF-8 encoding. this didnt make any difference in the Global Settings manager.
Please help me...
Regards,
Diliphttp://kb2.adobe.com/cps/167/16701594.html
But it seems that you have done everything correctly; doesn't it work?

No, I don't think so; these settings are stored in a different place.
Some users have reported that AutoUpdateDisable via mms.cfg does no longer work in Flash Player 10.3. Please check if this failure already occurs in Flash Player 10.2. -
How does one disable "check for automatic updates" in Java 6, version 17? On the Update tab, the box is checked, but it is grayed out and won't let me un-select it.
Thanks for any help.http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/167/16701594.html

How to disable auto charge of iPhone via PC?
How to disable auto charge of iPhone via PC?
I'm thinking you may have the concern of not overcharging or messing with charge cycles of your phone, but according to apple the Li-ion batteries in iDevices work this way for example
-Your phone has 50% battery left, you charge it
-after using again, you're back with 50 and charging it till full once again makes it 1 charge cycle
Doesn't work like nickel batteries.

Does anyone know How to Disable "Auto Align" in [System Preferences] -> [Display] -> [Arrangement]?
It always want to align the two screens from the top when they are lined up close together and I need them to be aligned from the bottom. Since the resolution heights are so close together (1080 & 1050) it does not allow one to align side by side from the bottom as it prioritizes top alignment.
I guess I'm looking for a script to disable this feature.Anyone got any ideas?

How to disable auto clear feature in a text box in IE10
How to disable auto clear button in Text box in IE10
Hi Team,
I saw this question on Microsoft forum but I did not find any reply to this question, therefore, I am re-posting it.
When I run web interface application on IE10, i see there is a new feature which has 'X' at the end of text box and on clicking it it clears the text.
Are there any settings of IE10 that can be changed to disable it or some code snippet?
I find the 'X' sign at the end of text box very annoying and would like to turn it off and make it compatible with older versions of IE and other explorers.
Looking forward to your answer at the earliest.

How to disable swapfile.sys on Windows 8?
It's possible to disable pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys, however, there does not appear to be information on how to disable
swapfile.sys.
The file swapfile.sys appears to be an additional paging file from Metro and I'd like to know if there is a way to disable it as well.hiberfile is EASY to get rid of
1) disable fast start up
2) disable hibernation
3) disable hybrid sleep (this trips up most people) as hybrid sleep writes all the data as IF it's going to hibernate but then goes to sleep. This is in case of power failure. Then the system can resume from a hibernated state with no data/session loss
No reason to disable pagefile.sys, it's been proven OVER and OVER that 100% disabling the pagefile system does more harm than good and creates instability in windows - even if you had 64TB of RAM.. many programs actually use and REQUIRE the pagefile to page
out code thats idle.
Even just a minimal 400MB pagefile on the C: drive will keep windows happy. That lets it make a mini dump if needed and allows programs that req a swap file to function normally.
Swapfile.sys, you can not turn off. That's just part of Windows 8. I'm not sure WHY it's there.. I loaded a TON of metro apps, and they hogged 6GB of memory, and they were being swapped to my PAGEFILE. So I'm not understanding what it's there for -

How to disable auto-clean-up in Photoshop?
Hi All,
I have an image which when opened in Photoshop appears to be cleaner (noise, bleed-through etc. removed). When I open the same image in IrfanView, I can see the noise.
Can someone please tell me how to disable the auto-clean-up in Photoshop? I would like to see the image as it is in Photoshop, without any clean-up.
Thanks,

What I had uploaded is a screenshot of the image viewed in Photoshop and not the original JPEG. When I analyzed two JPEGS, one which appears cleaned up and another which doesn't appear cleaned up, the only difference I found was in the ICC profile. I am pasting both ICC profiles below.

How to disable auto-sort for AdvancedDataGrid
Hello,
I am using Flex 4, ActionScript 3.
I want to disable auto-sort. Meaning I want the sort to be executed only when the user clicks the column header, not when new rows are added to the binded collection or when values are changed.
So far, I've found only this on the Internet:
http://]http://tomek.me/disable-sort-on-datagrid-edit-update/
I'd like to avoid doing that if possible.
Many months ago, I found a solution that involved using event.preventDefault() placed somewhere. I thought I wouldn't have a problem finding it again, but I am.
Can someone please help? Thanks!

Figuring out how to access a device using Windows.Devices.HumanInterfaceDevice?
Before I start, I would like to share this link I used to access windows RT libraries from Desktop applications (only the ones stated in MSDN documentation that are accessible from desktop applications):
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cdndevs/archive/2013/10/02/using-windows-8-winrt-apis-in-net-desktop-applications.aspx .
After following the above instructions you can import some of the windows RT libraries in references. I have been trying to use the Windows.Devices.HumanInterfaceDevice library. I think my UsagePage and UsageId are off though. I am wondering
if someone good in hex can translate them from my report descriptor. I already have the VID and PID (this should be enough along with the path if I called write file or some of the other win32/OS api's). Here's the code I am using in VB.NET:
Public Class VirtualMouseDeviceOpen
Class Enumeration
' Enumerate HID devices
Public Async Function EnumerateHidDevices() As Task
Dim vendorId As UInt32 = &HBEEF
Dim productId As UInt32 = &HFEED
Dim usagePage As UInt32 = &HFF
Dim usageId As UInt32 = &H1
' Create a selector that gets a HID device using VID/PID and a
' VendorDefined usage
Dim selector As String = HidDevice.GetDeviceSelector(usagePage, usageId, vendorId, productId)
' Enumerate devices using the selector
Dim devices As Windows.Foundation.IAsyncOperation(Of Windows.Devices.Enumeration.DeviceInformationCollection) = DeviceInformation.FindAllAsync(selector)
Dim count As Integer = devices.GetResults.Count
If count > 0 Then
' Open the target HID device
' At this point the device is available to communicate with
' So we can send/receive HID reports from it or
' query it for control descriptions
Dim device As HidDevice = HidDevice.FromIdAsync(devices.GetResults.ElementAt(0).Id, FileAccessMode.ReadWrite)
Await Vendor.ReadWriteToHidDevice(device)
Else
' There were no HID devices that met the selector criteria
MsgBox("MUTT HID device not found!", MsgBoxStyle.Exclamation)
End If
End Function
Class Vendor
Public Shared Async Function ReadWriteToHidDevice(device As HidDevice) As Task
If device IsNot Nothing Then
' construct a HID output report to send to the device
Dim outReport As HidOutputReport = device.CreateOutputReport()
' Initialize the data buffer and fill it in
Dim buffer As Byte() = New Byte() {10, 20, 30, 40}
