How to disable beats audio?

hey how are you guys? im having a couple issues with the audio on my dv6t 6100 cto. everytime i go into the beats audio panel and disable beats audio and set the equalizer to flat (default), it makes the sound controls in windows sound go to -12 and -4. i reset them to flat, zero, and everytime i restart my laptop theyre back to -12 and -4, unless i reenable beats..
i do notice there are two audio drivers for my laptops model. one is the regular idt audio and the other is idt audio (hd). does the regular one exclude beats?
also the sound on my front left speaker shuts off at times, and only turns on if i turn it up loud or smack the laptop above the speaker. this has been happening since i first got the pc. anyone else have similar experiences? any way to fix this?
everything else (besides stupid switchable graphics and now these audio problems) about the laptop has been good to me. its fast and does the job well. its also sleek and not too heavy

let me rephrase my question.
if i have the beats equalizer disabled, everytime my computer starts up my tone controls (which are under windows, sound, right click on the "speakers and headphones" icon and go to properties, then tone controls tab) defualt to the negative values on every restart. how can i stop makng them default to their negative values? i want them both to stay at flat.
thanks so much

Hey, I had the same problem as you and solved it. Product Name: HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC
    Product Number: J0C48EA#AB9
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit While using Windows 8.1, what I did to disable the Beats Audio Control Panel was to update the driver to the generic High Definition Audio, as this guy shows:
https://goo.gl/0XN7Nl When I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, the new OS started using the IDT driver, enabling the Beats Audio Control Panel.
I've tried to do the same under Windows 10 but there was Generic Audio Driver a.k.a. High Definition Audio Driver available. This is what I did:
    1. Download, install the High Definition Audio Tool from Microsoft Hardware Dev Center, and restart your PC. This is the generic audio driver that was missing:
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/8/D/48D7ED36-832B-41D7-AE0A-04AD7D8CA837/HdauSetup_x64.msi
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/Dn613936(v=VS.85).aspx 2. Open Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers
     3. Righ Click Menu over IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and select Update Driver Software
     4. Choose Browse my computer for driver software
     5. Choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
     6. Choose High Definition Audio Device
     7. Select Yes in the Update Driver Warning 8. The High Definition Audio Codec is installed and the Beats Audio Control Panel disabled Now I can hear all my music again without the awful Beats Audio effects and volume variations that are a nag.
Hope this helps you out. Thank you. hitek81

  • How do I disable Beats Audio?

I'd like to run without Beats Audio, can it be disabled and still have viable Audio?
    Thanks

    Hello BigAl5,
I see you have a question about the beats audio on your computer, is that correct?
I found this thread that has the answer to your question. The thread shows the button combination to turn the beats audio on and off.
That combination is the "FN" key + "B" at the same time.
You can review the thread for more information. Let me know if this works for you.

  • How to disable the audio track in QT Pro Movie Recording

I have a device that allows me to record DVI video (1900x1200 uncompressed) into QuickTime Pro through the Movie Recording function. It all works very well except I am trying to record video only (it's the video output of a medical device, so there is no sound). In QT pro preferences, the choices for audio input are "automatic", built-in microphone", or "line-in". I need the choice of "none" (at these files sizes I need all of the CPU's resources working on the video to improve continuity and frame rate). Does anyone know of a script to disable the audio recording portion, or how I might write one? I have never written script before, but that won't stop me from trying to learn how (or rather, launching into a prolonged period of trial and error).
I am also going to approach this by nagging the video device manufacturer, but they are more Windows- centric (they do support Mac OS X and some Linux platform so all hope is not lost). However, it would be easier if I could have more control over my own destiny, and Mac folk seem to be much more helpful.
Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help.

First, thanks for the quick reply.
Setting the audio option to line-in with nothing plugged in yields the same results. The device (which is essentially a continuous frame grabber) doesn't have any audio feed at all, and I think that is what is confusing QuickTime. The file I record generates one video track and several sequential audio tracks that start at roughly every 4 seconds. The movie info say that these are Big Endian Stereo L&R tracks, and that have virtually no file size to speak of. Audibly there is nothing. However, the constant "start over" with the audio is causing 2-3 second skips in the video. When the video is recording contiguously, the frame rates are on the order of 15 to 20 fps, which at 1900x1200 is fantastic for what I am doing (software training video of a Linux-based medical device; nothing cool like Snapz available for this beast).
By the way, I have tried Hack TV Carbon, hTV 0.2 and QT Broadcaster, all which will recognize the device as an input source, but not choose it. These would let me deselect the audio input. As mentioned, I am prodding the device manufacturer for help, too, so maybe they will come up with something to address this.
The other thing is that this device creates a video stream that is transferred by USB2. If it was a Firewire device, I would be all over this with iMovie HD or a HD Video recorder, and just be done with it. Apple may have to come up with some universal driver to accept USB video in since they have dropped FW on some of the new models, but this frame grabber isn't on the list as of now.
No real solution I can find to convert USB to Firewire.
Anyway, I am hoping that somehow I could get into the QT script and just disable the audio recording, like the old "save as Un-editable" script would pullout the "save" function of the QuickTime action.
Of course, dumping the audio tracks after the fact doesn't fix the video; once it's chopped up coming in...
I suspect that the real answer to this issue lies with the frame grabber manufacturer. But, I am still hopeful that the QuickTime Script writers out there (or the Terminal folks) may have something up their sleeves.
    Thanks for noticin' me.

  • Problem Disabling Beats Audio w/ Windows 8.1

Hey guys thanks for having this support form thing, I come on here all the time to get my issues fixed so I don't have to bother you guys on the phone. However, I have one problem I cannot seem to find on the forums.
I have a HP Envy dv6 laptop with Beats Audio that I got last summer, and, unfortunately, I'm not too much of a fan of the Beats mixing. With Windows 8.0, when I go into the Audio Control Panel for Beats Audio, I would go to the Listening Experience tab and uncheck "Beats Audio". The little sliders would go gray and my bass in the Sound Control Panel would be set down to -12 as per usual. I would bring that back up to +4 and still had very nice sound quality. However, I updated to the new Windows 8.1 and noticed my audio didn't sound like it did before. I checked my Sound Control Panel and, finding that was not the problem, checked on my Beats Audio Control Panel to find "Beats Audio" on the LIstening Experience tab was rechecked. So I unchecked it, expecting the tabs to gray out again. They didn't. I played with the still white sliders and found they were still affecting my audio experience, even with "Beats Audio" unchecked.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and even tried using the one found in another forum thread (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Windows-8-1-Beats-audio/td-p/3025971/highli... bottom post from VJ_R) but to no avail. Is there a way this can be fixed?
Thanks for any help in advance!

Hi JCViscera. Your product has a specific Window 8.1 download available for your IDT driver. Can you try to install this one (if you haven't already) to see if this fixes the issue?

  • How to disable one Audio port on MSI MB with Realtek HD Audio

    Hello MIS gurus.
I have MSI p45t-c51 MBoard with ALC889 Audio chipset. On this board i installed Win XP Pro with Realtek HD Audio Driver 5.10.0.6101.
On back audio plate i use Edifier 2.1 audio over one of the audio port's and HeadPhones over another one.
My question is: Is it possible to disable one of the ports so the sound only come from 1 of the audio devices instead of both.
At this moment, what i do is in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, i set LINE IN for the device i do not want to hear. - Advice if that is bad for the device that is plugged in at that port!
    Thanks to all.
    Regards.

Just disable the Onboard Audio from BIOS.

  • How to Disable integrated audio interface?

Can I disable(if possible) my 'integrated audio interface' in PowerMac G5 ?
    thx in advance
    PowerMac G5 DualCore 2.0Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    That's some piece of kit!
    http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/828
If you want to shut off the puny internal speaker, leaving a jackplug in the rear analogue audio out socket, or the front headphone socket should do it. This works on a pre-dual-core G5, anyway.
If this isn't what you meant, you could try to explain why you need to disable the 'integrated audio'. Presumably you are not recording on the G5, just using the CueMix Console™ software...

  • Beats Audio compression and volume fluctuation - HP ENVY m6-1178sa

Just wondering if there's actually been a fix for this yet, as it seems to be a common problem. Using an HP ENVY m6-1178sa and after scouring the internet high and low, none of the fixes seem to be working at all. Whether using the onboard laptop speakers, external speakers, or headphones, all loud sections in songs are dramatically reduced in volume and the low end is totally sucked out. I've had to revert to listening to music on my phone because Beats makes certain songs borderline unlistenable. If there hasn't been an official fix yet, then I urge you to make one as soon as posible, as sound quality was a major motivation for buying this laptop!

I have an HP Envy 17T I purchased in Jan. 2015 with Windows 8.1 and noticed the same issue of highly compressed audio when playing back music files no matter what app you used (Windows Media Player, iTunes, Virtual DJ, etc.). Like the rest of us, this has been driving me crazy. I can confirm that it is not a figment of your imagination - the compression is indeed caused by BeatsAudio. I find it incredible that a software app that supposedly claims a superior listening experience would overlook the ability to turn off such an annoying (and in-your-face) feature!!?? Oh well, so much for my soap box. I stumbled upon a solution that involves disabling Beats Audio and substituting another audio device driver in its place. The following steps work for Windows 8.1 on an HP Envy laptop: Go to Windows Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers section. In the list of audio device drivers, look for Realtek High Definition Audio. This is the device driver for BeatsAudio (a little bit sneaky, wouldn’t you say?).Right-click and select Disable. The downward arrow displays on this driver, indicating it is disabled. (NOTE: At this point, you won’t be able to play any music files.)Right-click and select Update Driver Software.Select Browse my computer for driver software.Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. You should see a window that says Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. NOTE: If you see a window that says something like This is the best driver for this device, exit the window and repeat steps 4, 5, and 6.In the Model box, highlight High Definition Audio Device (this is the substitute audio device driver) and click Next.At the Update Driver Warning window, click Yes. You should see a confirmation window with High Definition Audio Device displayed. Click Close. In the list of audio device drivers in the Sound, video and game controllerssection, you’ll notice that the High Definition Audio Device now displays instead ofRealtek High Definition Audio. At the prompt to reboot, click Yes.Enjoy your music now with no compression!! NOTE: If you miss the compression in your music, you can always go back to using BeatsAudio.Use the same steps above, just replace High Definition Audio Device driver with the RealTek High Definition Audio driver.

  • How to open and play music on Beats Audio in my new HP ENVY PC

I bought a new HP ENVY PC that comes with Beats Audio.
How to I open it and play music?
How to I import music to Beats Audio?
    Thanks fr your help

    Hi,
Beats audio does not provide a program for playing music. You can open Beats audio in Control Panel and configure sound characteristics using the various options available such as the graphics equalizer.
You can play music by opening Windows Media Player or using Cyberlink PowerDVD.
You can also "Google" media players for other programs.

  • How can I just use a generic Realtek audio driver without "Beats Audio" interfering!?

Beats audio is terrible! I just want to have a flat EQ with no stupid sound effects enabled. The only way I've been able to do this so far, is to uninstall the audio driver, and just use the generic windows one instead. But what I would like to do is use a generic Realtek audio driver, and completely remove Beats Audio from my computer.
After uninstalling the audio driver that comes with my laptop, I tried getting a standard Realtek driver from their website. But when I install that, Beats Audio reappears! This is so frustrating! How can I uninstall Beats Audio? I want it gone forever! I can see from searching these forums that this is a common problem. But none of the solutions have shown how to just use a standard Realtek driver without this Beats Audio rubbish.
Can anyone tell me how this is possible? I'll stick to the generic windows driver if I have to. But it would be nice if I could just use the Realtek drivers as they were meant to be.
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. But you've misunderstood the question. I know how to uninstall the sound driver and just use a generic Windows one instead. But what I'm actually looking to do, is install the Realtek audio driver without Beats Audio. Thanks.
