How to disable Bonjour service advertising in Yosemite

Hi there,
I'm trying to disable the Bonjour service advertising in Yosemite / Mac OS X 10.10.
Unfortunately the instructions in OS X: How to disable Bonjour service advertising without disabling DNS no longer apply, since Yosemite no longer has /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist
I did some digging around and there's someone who made a script to disable it in various Mac OS versions, including supposedly Yosemite: https://github.com/MacMiniVault/Mac-Scripts/blob/master/disablebonjour/disablebo njour-README.md
I had a look at the script to find out what it does and manually inserted "--no-multicast" as string under Program Arguments in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist
Doing so, will mess up the wi-fi. Networks only show when wi-fi is off, and turning it on makes it seem like it's off and I'm never able to connect until I undo the changes described above.
Wondering if:
1) The result from changes above is expected or is it a bug?
2) If Apple can update OS X: How to disable Bonjour service advertising without disabling DNS to include instructions for Yosemite.
3) Did anyone here manage to disable Bonjour service advertising in Yosemite without introducing any new issues?

I have been having trouble downloading videos from MIT OCW which , before ,I could download to iTunes or Real . Before, I was using IE9 and more recently Firefox for this purpose .
I began experiencing problems downloading these videos in iTunes so I uninstalled it , then had problems trying to install it (I have Vista 64-bit Home Premium) , the system would'nt download it until I tried it under Google Chrome , and it did install iTunes......
But the problems persisted when trying to download individual videos from a given course . I went through Mozilla and found out it needed an important update (downloaded on Jan. 1,2012)
and I also installed the free trial app TuneUp Utilities , which seems to have done well all of its functions . In its second module , it gave me the choice of disabling several programs to reduce the load....one of them was "Bonjour services" (or close),
and later , i found out it is needed to share iTunes files, etc. Another disabled file was a complement to QuickTime....I suspect5 that is why the video files will not open under Mozilla or IE . I have yet to try Google Chrome .

There is a free browser called Dolphin and it plays m.youtube site just fine and it's free at the IStore, safari is just getting left behind right now it seems ...

well... I am running 12.4(21a)ja1 on my 1240 and Iam able to enable and to disable any of the stream options..

I am publish some RFC function as webservice for my SAP AS ABAP, i set the authentication as basic. I can using http basic authentication to call the service and get the result. But it also accept passing user/password through the url string: http://localhost:8001/sap/bc/soap/wsdl11?services=BAPI_PO_CHANGE&sap-client=100&sap-user=myId&sap-password=myPassword
I want to disable this, make it no user/password through url string. Can anyone tell me how to do it, thanks.

Well, it's not a backdoor - but (extremely) bad style: an URL should never contain any authentication data (like UID & PWD) nor should it ever contain any (security) session ID (which, if valid, would allow to skip authentication).
So, I agree with you / your customer: it should be (made) possible to configure the system to discard / ignore any authentication data which is contained in the URL.
I recommend to submit a customer message to SAP (using message component BC-MID-ICF). You might refer to this SDN posting (by providing the URL) in the support ticket.
PS: Basic Authentication is not much better but at least the information (UID & PWD) is not sent in the clear (although simply Base64-encoded) and not in the URL (but in the http header). Sending cleartext data in the URL is really the worst. The best is: use stronger authentication mechanisms (e.g. X.509 client certificates, Kerberos, Biometric authentication mechanisms, etc.).

I have found my own answer. If your user type is setup as 'Service', you will not be have the "Services for Object" icon on IQS23. If you need the icon to perform the that service, you must change the user type to Dialog from Logon Data.

Cellular Data is for internet access such as web browsing, email etc, turning this off means that you don't incur any data roaming charges whilst abroad. With data off you will still be able to make and receive calls and sms If you which to turn this off put the phone into airplane mode, settings>airplane mode

I am deploying NI 488.2 onto multiple remote systems using silent installation. The installation works well except that an NI Update Service prompt appears after restarting. I can disable the prompt by unchecking the "periodic check..." check box in the NI Update Service settings. However, I want to be able to "uncheck" this box during or immediately after the installation. Is there a configuration file or registry entry that I can use to remotely disable the update service prompts? Thank you for your help!!

I'm referring to the command line arguments used when automating installation of NI installers. KnowledgeBase 4GGGDQH0 has more explicit instructions for automating installation.
If you're not automating installation, you can manually deselect the request to contact National Instruments for new notifications and updates in the installer dialog.

Everytime I start up iChat, Bonjour tries to log in. Whenever I log into iChat for the first time Bonjour also tries to log in, even if I don't have the the "use Bonjour Instant Messanging" or "When iChat Opens, Automatically Log In" boxes checked.

I deleted the "com.apple.ichat.plist" and it still didn't work, ...Did you Log out and stop iChat from running (no small black triangle adjacent to the iChat iCon in your Dock) BEFORE you deleted the .plist?
Did you then restart and check to see whether iChat works?
Did you try launching iChat from the Dock (if you keep iChat's iCon in your Dock) or from the icon in the Finder > Go > Applications folder?

Perhaps you have only closed all iChat windows? If that is the case, you may find some useful information on iChat actions and terminology in iChat status after quit?

you have to go into your apps and remove the app daily pulse. (I think that is what it is called) once that is removed it should not come up. I had to do it myself and I haven't seen any adds since.
