How to set default color and font?

Where do I set a default font and color for my outgoing mail? I looked in the preferences but when you change it there, it changes it for all emails, incoming and out going. Isn't there a way to have different fonts for the outgoing than for the incoming??

I'm glad that other people have had this problem too. I've spent hours on the web trying to find how to select the default composing font colour. I find it incredible that with all the options available in Mail and other mail applications that Apple haven't included this most basic of requirements. It would be lovely if someone from Apple would let us know why this has been left out and if they are going to put it in VERY soon, perhaps as a software update? Mac's still rule though :o)

How to disable default logging for workshop web services

Hi there,
We have created a web service using WL Workshop that we want to deploy to a production server. The problem is that the destination server is not using a default log4j library for the server, but each application initiates its own library.
When we try to deploy the web service onto the production server, we are getting an error of a log4j/Appender class not found. We can solve the problem by adding any log4j library to the class path at the beginning, but that will cause compatilibity problems with existing applications.
Is there any way to disable the default web services logging? It looks like the knex library is trying to instantiate this class at deployment. Any way we can disable that option?

That is indeed what I am trying to do: to add all required libraries within my web-inf folder.
But it seems that the server itself expects the log4j library to be loaded when the server is initiated. It looks to me that some server-level listener for the web services is starting together with the domain and tries to access the log4j library. This library is not found because it is inside the web-inf folder of my application.
I do not see any error while starting the server. The error only appears when trying to deploy the application (ear) with the web service. It seems that I am forgetting something, but unless I include the log4j.jar in the classpath when I start the server, i will not be able to avoid the error.
Suggestions and tests are much welcome.

How to Disable default button

I am running on EP 6 SP 9
I have a JSPDynPage with a HTMLB form which has a default button set using the defaultButton attribute of the form

now in the disableControl method I need to disable the button OKButton.
the following js fuction does exactly that, the button is grayed out and cannot be clicked with the mouse

however if I press Enter key the form apparently attempts to invoke the eventhandler for this button, this throws a js error: Object doesn't support this property or method
the funny thing is that the line(18) this error occurs on does not contain any js code.
Has anyone had this same problem or is there another way to change the forms default button using js?

EMET + GPO: How to Disable Default Protections

Hi,
I have rolled out EMET 4.1 and configured it via GPO. When I first deployed it, Default Protections for Internet Explorer, Recommended Software and Popular Software were activated. Now, after some issues came up I want to configure every
application myself.
Now to my problem:
I can’t deactivate the Default Protections, every time I try to set them to disabled they go back to not configured.
Does anybody know how to fix this? Also, if these Default Protections are not enabled does EMET then use the Setting from the Registry?

I have to say that I do not have any experience with configuring EMET via GPO's. I guess you disabled the GPO settings but are the registry values also removed
under the registry key 'HKLM/Software/Policies/Microsoft/EMET'.
When you change the EMET GPO and you have updated the policies on the computer with 'gpupdate /Target:Computer /Force' you have to wait a few seconds and use the command "emet_conf.exe --refresh" to update EMET mitigation settings. You can then use the command
"emet_conf.exe --list" to display all the application mitigation settings for EMET, showing the settings configured locally (EMET_GUI or EMET_CONF) first, followed by the settings configured via Group Policy.

How about having iOS Pages load fonts from the cloud?

As a designer, Pages for iOS has lost almost all of it's funtionality without the ability to sync or save fonts from my Mac to my iPad. Of course, fonts have always been an issue when moving from one machine to another, but it seems like a logical feature of iCloud in the future. Anyone know of a work-around? Has anyone used Google Docs and Google Fonts?

You are using the same account on both devices I assume.
Have you tried turning document and data syncing off and on again on the iPad.

I have got the same issue using Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10074, please could somebody show us an alternative method to disable the use of the remote default gateway through a VPN ? Thanks.

How to change default fonts in Indesign

I've tried the usual recommended steps - open InDesign, select a font, then close the program, etc. -- but nothing seems to work. Every style reverts to MetaPlus. Help!

Respectfully, I've tried this, and I'm not looking for suggested working solutions as I have a pretty clear understanding of how to set defaults and how to utilize paragraph styles. I'm simply pointing out that contrary to what you're saying, setting the font in the character palette does NOT change the true default font in my experience (CS4, OS10.4.11). I do understand that the default is set with no documents open by then selecting the font in the character palette.
I'm attaching 2 screen shots to show you that I'm not making this up. In the first you can hopefully see I've clearly set the "default" to Arial now.
In the second I've created a new document and a new paragraph style. You can see it already considers "Arial" as deviating from the base "No Paragraph Style" and if you click on "Reset to Base" you will see that sure enough, the true default font is still Geneva (Geneva in my case as outlined in my previous post).
Generally, this isn't much of a problem. As you've all pointed out we can accept that these additions are the new default for a new paragraph style, but it really isn't changing the true default font. Depending on your working environment and the experience of the designers this may be good enough. For my environment I'm looking for the ability to change the true default font and the only solution I've come across is the one from my previous post (deleting preferences).

How to disable Document Installed Fonts feature

We store incoming files on a Windows server, one employee opens and makes laser prints of them to be supplied with the job ticket. Then the folder is moved (not copied) into the actual job folder in the same volume on said server. The problem is, the enclosing folder containing the collected indesign job cannot be moved in it's entirety as the server sees files in use. You can move the files piecemeal from the enclosing folder, or copy the whole thing to the desktop, but the enclosing folder & the Document fonts folder cannot be moved until the original employee quits Indesign. This makes a mess of the storage folder as the operators just drag out what they need & is of course, extremely frustrating. The Document Installed fonts feature is nice, but also a problem for us as we do layouts in Illustrator, and the fonts are only available in Indesign without loading them manually, so we have to remember to outline the fonts in Indesign, which is not possible sometimes depending how the file is created etc. The easiest solution is to have the original employee quit Indesign every so often, but I would like to be able to disable The Document Installed fonts if desired.

Prevent InDesign loading Document Fonts

Hi,
does anybody know how to disable InDesign usinf fonts suuplied in a packaged Document Fonts folder?
We have a prepress department that receives lots files from different design agencies and the majority of these files are supplied as packaged documents. Our users open these files, work on them and then save a new version of the file in a new folder. The next time a user opens these files the fonts are then missing because the dcoument is not located with the Document Fonts folder.
We use Universal Type Server to manage all of our users fonts which works well as we can then open documents on different machines without any font issues.
I know we could rename the Document Fonts folder to something like Supplied Fonts and InDesign would not load them but I just wandered if there was a way of disabling the automatic loading of Document Fonts.

Agreed. This causes immense headaches for a prepress department. As a prepress operator at a large agency, having InDesign CC 2014 auto-load fonts located in the Document Fonts folder is completely idiotic. So, if I receive a packaged ID file from a client and it contain fonts that we do not own licenses to, this function no longer allows us to get the missing fonts alert, essentially enabling us to load and use fonts we don't own licenses to, without any notification. We absolutely do not want this auto-activation of fonts from the Document Fonts folder! We only recently moved from CS6 to CC 2014 and I'm dumbfounded that a company that sells fonts, and I would assume wants to ensure they are licensed properly, would enable such a process, without a way to turn it off. Is there a way to turn this function off?

Printer - how to access defaultprinter fonts and loaded fonts in one job ( ie Arial 15 / etc )

We have a file that contains font definitions that get loaded to the printer.
These show on our PCL font list as "permanent soft fonts",
and we access them by their font id number. If we just use the fonts that we loaded,
our print step ( print layout/etc) is ok. If we try to access a font that exists
on the printer, say Arial, which has both an escape sequence and an
"internal xx" number, our print layout (grid), gets shifted to the right.
We access the Arial font by :
   esc%12345X and then the escape sequence for Arial font
1. is there a way to refer to Arial ( or other printer default font )
    while still in PCL mode using our loaded fonts ( by font id ) ?
2. should we add Arial to our font load file ?
    if yes, how do we do that ?

A friendly soul on ubuntuforums pointed out to me, that the wireless configuration is only necessary when the printer is NOT connected to a (W)LAN. So all I really had to do was to configure the printer in the CUPS administation page, and it worked. Problem solved. Silly me.

Run Command Prompt with elevated permissions.
Run the following command to take ownership of MicrosoftAccountTokenProvider.dll:
  takeown /f C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MicrosoftAccountTokenProvider.dll
Run the following command to deny the read permission of the Microsoft:
icacls C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MicrosoftAccountTokenProvider.dll /deny

Note: Please replace your current Microsoft Account with the example

Change the owner of this file back to TrustedInstaller:
