How to disable device provisioning ("device administrator") in sbs 2011 ?

Hi,
When a device that supports device provisioning trying to add an Exchange mail account, even when the "allow non-provisionable devices" checkbox is selected, it still force it to accept "device administrator' policy in order to add the Exchange
mail account.
Is there a way to disable this option completely on my SBS 2011 ? or even better, disable this request\requirement for specific user?
Some of them just don't want to give us this control, and I do understand that, it's their personal devices and as a company we don't require that from them.

How do I Change the default mailbox on SBS 2011

I have created 3 other mailbox databases to help manage users mailboxes "Size". I now have a front office, Sales and Executive databases. All of these have different settings as far as send/receive limits and total size limits.
When I create a new user on the network, it would be nice to have the wizard select one of the new mailboxes as a default. I no longer use the original mailbox database, and it is still eating up just under 200GB of my HDD space on my server.
I would like to ultimately remove it from the server all together. Currently I have had it dismounted for a couple weeks now with no issues with users missing any information. I would like to remove the old database but I am afraid that when I
go to add a new user it will not do it correctly as the "Default" database is missing.
Can anyone suggest the best process to handle this?

I will agree with Al. There may be no much you can do.
The
Add a New User wizard will retrieve the mailbox database name. For this purpose, it looks for the registry key
MailboxDatabaseName under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\Messaging.
However, SBS is an integrated solution. There may be more relevant background operations (configurations) for
the wizard and mailbox database. In addition, please refer to following similar thread and check if can help you.

How to disable iMessage for a specific contact/How to unregister iMessage from former device

I switched from an iPhone 4 to a Galaxy S3. When my wife who still has an iPhone 4 tries to text me it still sends the message as an iMessage and I NEVER receive the text on my Galaxy S3. It still shows the little blue bubble next to my name when starting a new text thread. So I checked with about 4 other iPhone users that text me on a regular basis and I'm not receiving any of their messages either.
If the iPhone users turn off iMessage the text comes right through. However I dont expect all the iPhone users on my contact list to turn off the iMessage feature just so they can text me.
I no longer have my old iPhone. I traded it in at Best Buy so there's no way of going back in the phone to change any settings. The iPhone was wiped of all data and settings anyway before I traded it in.
I took my wifes iPhone and deleted my contact. Then I added it back. Still shows my name as iMessage. I took my e-mail address out of my contact entry on her phone and it still shows my name as iMessage.
I logged into "Apple Support - My Support Profile" to try to unregister my device as suggested in another forum but I can't get past the "enter your purchase date" page. It was a refurbished iPhone and the date I purchased the device didn't work. Theres no way I'll ever get the original purchase date since I wasn't the original buyer of that iPhone.
Any suggestions?? This is an urgent matter as I NEED to receive text messages from my wife and other iPhone users. My wife is willing to turn off iMessage on her iPhone but I don't expect everyone else to.
I need to find out how to unreigster my old iPhone completely from iMessage.... or find out how to disable a specific contact on my wife's iPhone from using iMessage.

If you still have an iPhone handy and have the SIM card you used for the phone, then temporarily put your SIM into the other phone and go into Settings and turn of iMessage. If not, the only alternative that I know of is the Support profile, However, you may what to search the More Like This section on the right side of the thread to see if any of the entries there have a green checkmark meaning they are answered.

How to disable the Device Password on the Q10

I accidently enabled the Device Manager program on my Q10 and now I have to enter my device password every time I use the phone. The Device Password program is located within the Security and Privacy area but I am unable to turn off the program. Does anyone have any ideas on how to disable this Device Manager?

Thank you for responding to my question. Starting at Settings then select Security and Privacy then slect Device Password and arrive at Device Password screen. At the top of the screen is a slider button to turn on or off the Device Password. The slider is turned on but will not allow me to slide to off. Under the slider are the words" IT policy requires device passwod to be set. Any ideas on how to move the slider to off?

Useful for the poster's future devices. It cannot be enabled on a device that has been stolen.

Deactivate sony enterprise service in security- device administrator

I had deactivated enterprise service in device administrator and found that it become activated after a few hours. This did not happen in the previous firmware but happened after recent update. The enterprise service drains battery. Sony, kindly explain why is the service automatically activated! It will be good if the service can be disabled. Consumer don't need this service, only corporate environment does.

I got the same problem.
It is terrible annoying.
On my phone, it is activated as device administrator after each restart.
I am using Kaspersky as my device administrator, and for Kaspersky to be able to delete my device or lock it, if lost or stolen, it needs to be the only administrator.
So when enterprise service activates it self as administrator at a restart, means that my security in case of stolen or lost telephone, is none excistent.
Really terrible Sony.. Please find a solution!!!
It even activates it self as administrator, even though I disabled enterprise service it in the apps menu.
Let me be the one, who decides which device administrators i want, and not the phone!
A thing like this, if it cannot be fixed, will be what prevents me from buying a Sony phone next time.

What U Hear - Not in "Disabled Devices" eith

I've seen the "What U Hear"-question pop up everywhere when searching for an answer to my problem. The thing is that I don't have this function on my PC with Windows Vista 32-bit and it's not in the list of disabled devices either.
My sound card is Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic.

Remote Device Wipe needs Device Administrator

Just updated to v2.2. I see that there is a new security function that allows you to set parameters to remotely wipe and/or lock your phone if parameters are ignored, such as if it is lost/stolen and the wrong password is entered...To activate this, I understand that a Device Administrator must be "selected" in Settings/Security/Select Device Administrator menu. I have no options available in this area. I have looked into Google, Verizon, misc forums and can find nothing.
Can anyone tell me how to "select the device administrator" so I may activate the Remote Wipe?

I came across this thread as I was researching the same issue, and thought I'd respond in case others ended up here:
I had a coworker volunteer his Droid for the test, and it took a couple iterations to get Remote Wiping to work.
The phone is the original Droid, running OS version 2.2. The Exchange server is Exchange 2003, with the following options:
Within Exchange System Manager, (Root) -> Global Settings -> Mobile Services -> Properties
Exchange ActiveSync group
Enable user initiated synchronization: checked
Enable up-to-date notification via SMTP and Text Messaging: checked
Enable notifications to user specified SMTP addresses: checked
Enable Direct Push over HTTP(S): checked
Outlook Mobile Access group
Enable Outlook Mobile Access: unchecked
Enable unsupported devices: unchecked
These settings are here for completeness -- I did not change these while working with the Droid. The settings I had to play with were under the "Device Security..." button:
"Enforce password on device" is the only option I have checked at the moment. I'll likely set sane options for password length and so forth. The one setting that I had set at one point when Remote Wipe was failing was "Allow access to devices that do not fully support password settings". It appears that you don't want this setting turned on.
As far as I can tell, enforcing the password is enough to have the Droid ask to make the EMail application one of the Device Administrators. Once EMail is a Device Administrator, Remote Wipe works (it does not clear SD card contents, but restores the Droid to its factory settings, requiring reactivation and whatnot.)
I have further testing to do, and will post any additional findings to this thread.

How to give Device-dependent command in Labview

I am using a Keithley Programmable Current Source (Model 224). When I try to read It gives a string(containing current, V-limit, dwell time).

According to the manual a device-dependent command like D0X will display Source, D1X will display Voltage limit and D2X will dispaly Dwell Time. I would like know how give these device-dependent commands.

I am including the SUB VI's here. The basic problem is to get the display of Source current reading only, with D0X command instade of all three parameters (Source current , V-limit, dwell time).
Mode 0 or Mode 2 is not giving any desired result.
Yes, in the sub Vi's GPIB address is constant. I have the driver for 2182 but it is not a problem, at least now.

does anybody know if Radius device administration authentication and authorization is possible with the actual ISE release? I know that TACACS will be available in future release.

LMS 4.0: Fault Monitoring Device Administration stuck in learning

Hello Members,
i have a problem with Fault Monitoring Device Administration. i have two devices which stuck in learning mode for almost forever. When the job is done the devices report an error SNMP timeout. I run a credential verfication job and the credentials for the devices are correct.
any ideas?

Assuming these are the only four devices using SNMPv3 in LMS, then the engineID is a non-issue. However, if any other device has the same engineID as those two non-working devices, the problem could still be a duped engineID. Debugging with logs is fairly complex. The easiest way to identify the problem is to use a sniffer. Start a sniffer trace filtering on all traffic to one of the failing devices. Then, rediscover the device in Fault Monitoring under Admin > Collection Settings > Fault > Fault Monitoring Device Administration. When it goes to a Questioned state, look at the sniffer trace.
If you see SNMP report packets indicating an error of notInWindow, that points to the duplicate engineID problem. ICMP packets without responses points to problems with ping.
