How to Disable disk eject warning

I do a lot of importing photos from Compact Flash cards, so much so that I get really tired of ejecting each one after import. I even pull my ipod without ejecting as long as there's no transfer happening. Every time I have to click that I understand the implications of my actions. I there a way to disable the warning? I know what I'm getting myself into and I'm OK with that.
Thanks,
Sean

No. If you fail to eject any disk device properly then there's a risk that cached data will not be fully written thus corrupting the device's data.
This doesn't happen with an iPad or iPod when syncing has stopped because the sync process does not leave cached data unwritten until the device is ejected unless you remove it before a sync has completed. It will happen, however, if you use the iPod in disk mode. The iPad has no default disk mode. You must use a third-party app in order to read or write directly from an iPad. The issue is also academic for iPads and some iPods that do not have disk drives.

  • How to disable Disk Insertion warning message?

I'm running OS X 10.4.8 from an external FW drive, reserving the internal HD on my MacBook for Linux. When booting OS X a warning message pops up: "Disk Insertion - The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" with action buttons Initialize..., Ignore, Eject . This must refer to the internal HD, as OS X apparently can't handle Linux partitions. Hitting Ignore, or waiting a while, makes the message go away.
My fear is that one of these days I'll hit the Initialize... button by mistake, hosing my Linux partitions in the process. Any gurus out there know how to turn this dangerous (for me) message off?
N.B. I also posted this message on the MacBook forum, but got no response there... sorry for this, I really want to remove this potential landmine...

  • Disk ejected warning

I'm getting "disk not ejected properly" warning and don't know why, there was no disk ejected.  This has happened several times.  Has anyone else had this problem and what do I need to do to correct this.

I was trying a long bet  - the Western Digital drives are somewhat notorious for symptoms like you describe.
Anyway, is your OS in fact Lion?
I have LaCie (Firewire) and it works great. Is your drive connected via firewire or USB?
I will suggest two things to consider and then let others have a whack at it.
    (1) In System Preferences, Energy Saver, do you have "Put disk(s) to sleep...." checked? If so, does this behavior persist when this box is unchecked?
    (2) It is possible that the cable used to connect your drive is faulty and this is causing your symptom.

  • How to disable "Confirm Bounce" warning dialog

I try to bounce every single piece of junk mail I get, but Mail always puts up a warninng dialog when I do so. How do I turn that warning dialog off?
    Thanks,
    Shaun

    dunno,
but something related: bouncing is useless... Most sender addresses on spam (>90%) are not real addresses, OR they belong to an innocent person whose email address is being abused. This person will get all those bounces.
Secondly, if you closely study the (full) headers of a REAL bounce and a FAKE bounce from mail.app (and I did this), then you can see that it is fake... (look at x-mailer, smtp server, message route, etc). What does this tell any smart spammer? That you care enough to send a fake bounce! > prepare to receive even more spam...
So my unsolicited advise to you is: do not bounce. But of course it's up to you.

  • How to disable Windows 7 warning on Super-charger.exe?

    Hi,
I buy a computer from ZT systems. The CPU is: AMD Quad-Core A8-3850 Accelerated Processor, Video graphics is:Radeon™ HD 6550D processor-integrated graphics (Dual monitor capable). From the CD-rom I know the motherboard is from MSI. I reinstall Windows 7 in order to have dual boot capability. I find that every time the computer boots, it asks whether run Super-charger.exe for security. I have check it is safe from "Program Files(x86)\MSI\Super-Charger.exe security property dialogue box (SYSTEM: Full control, Modify, Read & Execute, Read, Write). It still asks every time it boots.
Could you tell me how to disable Windows 7 asks about Super-Charger security?

In Bios possibly check your boot order? 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.
I don't see any help from boot order.
BTW, How can I know the motherboard model? I bought this computer from Costco. The information I have is: ZT Affinity 7150Ma Desktop PC. I do not find further info from ZT Systems Inc. website.
    Thanks.

  • How to disable "Unitilized Volume" Warning ?

I've got multiple operating systems on my mac. Each operating system is on a unique drive. How can I disable the annoying "Uninitilized Volume" warning ?

I assume you did not use Boot Camp for your Windows volume? There shouldn't be a problem, however, because OS X has no problem with Window's filesystems. But it cannot read a Linux filesystem unless it was installed on an MBR partition.

  • How to disable IE Security Warning on opening a "local" visio file with Visio Viewer ActiveX?

    Hello all,
Everyone knows that Microsoft released ActiveX based Visio Viewer for free and allow the users to open Visio drawing and view/print via IE browser.
The problem that I am facing is that some users are complaining about IE browser's security warning on "active content to run in files on My Computer".
It means that opening .VSD files from the network, internet, intranet would be all OK but if the user wants to open .VSD files from the local hard drive (or open it as a mail attachment, which will extract it to a temp folder), it prompt the user to select "Allow Blocked Content" EVERYTIME they open them.
I know that I can GLOBALLY disable this warning by going through Tools - Internet Options - Security section and enable "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" but I hope that there is a way (or workaround) to allow them by file type or location, etc.
    Questions:
    1. Is there any way to disable those warning for all .VSD only while we still UNCHECK the option on Internet Options?
    2. Is there any 3rd party Win32 based viewer which wouldn't have those restriction?
    3. Is it safe assumption that McAfee VirusScan and Host IPS protection is sufficient enough to remove the IE's security warning feature?
    Thanks in advance?
    Young-

Are you able to host/launch the VSD file via an HTM page? In that case you can format the HTM page as shown below. This will trick IE into thinking it is loading the file off of a website. Commonly called 'mark of the web'.

However I noticed that when entering on the application using the lower JRE Version, the following warning message is being obtained.
The application requires an earlier version of Java.Do you want to continue.
I have searched on the net..and someone advised to disable next generation Java Plug in.Apparently it solves the issue.
But I see several advantages we get by enabling this option. Can we disable it or any other way..I can avoid seeing this warning message.
    Regards
    Kam.

    Hi Stuart,

Do a backup,  preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors.  Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the OS.
