How to disable Guided Access in ios 6.0?

I am a secondary teacher and my students are using iPads in the classroom. I have tried IOS 6.0 and find that Guided Access is useful in some sense. However, I worried that if the Guided Access function is enabled by students, then how teacher/IT staff to unlock?
So, how to disable guided access in ios 6.0?
Thanks

My son just did that.  He enable guided access and doesn't remember the password.  Now we are locked out of the iPad.  The screen won't lock and the ipad cannot be shutoff either.  It's just running down the battery and we happen to be at the hospital.
I think some tweaks to this option are in order from Apple.

  • Disable guided access

    Dear Helpdesk,
    Guided access is enabled on my Iphone5 unintentionally. I found this only after upgrading my phone to iOS8. Since I do not have a password to disable guided access I am stuck. Kindly help.
    Best Regards,
    Babu

    I cannot see where you can enable Guided Access unintentionally. See this information from the User Guide.
    Guided Access
    Guided Access helps an iPhone user stay focused on a task. Guided Access dedicates iPhone to a single app, and lets you control app features. Use Guided Access to:
    Temporarily restrict iPhone to a particular app
    Disable areas of the screen that aren’t relevant to a task, or areas where an accidental gesture might cause a distraction
    Limit how long someone can use an app
    Disable the iPhone Sleep/Wake or volume buttons
    Turn on Guided Access.
    Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access, where you can:
    Turn Guided Access on or off
    Set a passcode that controls the use of Guided Access and prevents someone from leaving a session
    Set whether other accessibility shortcuts are available during a session
    Start a Guided Access session.
    After turning on Guided Access, open the app you want to run, then triple-click the Home button. Adjust settings for the session, then click Start.
    Disable app controls and areas of the app screen:
    Draw a circle or rectangle around any part of the screen you want to disable. Drag the mask into position or use the handles to adjust its size.
    Enable the Sleep/Wake or volume buttons:
    Tap Options below Hardware Buttons.
    Keep iPhone from switching from portrait to landscape or from responding to other motions:
    Tap Options, then turn off Motion.
    Prevent typing:
    Tap Options, then turn off Keyboards.
    Ignore all screen touches:
    Turn off Touch at the bottom of the screen.
    Set a session time limit:
    Tap Time Limit Options at the bottom of the screen.
    Triple-click the Home button, then enter the Guided Access passcode, or use Touch ID.

  • Guided access in iOS 8 on iPad air not working

    I got an iPad air and after updating to iOS 8, guided access, which I use several time a day to my 1-year old son.
    I haven't tried to reinstall the device, but I have tried to restore to factory settings and I have tried to turn off guided access, then reboot the iPad and here comes a strange thing. Before I restarted the device, I turned off guided access as earlier mentioned but when I rebooted the device, guided access was turned on..
    Well I tried to see if it had helped, I opened Safari and triple clicked the home button and happily guided access started. I then stopped voided access and tried starting it in the Synology DS Video app where I normally use guided access. I triple clicked and nothing happens.
    I tried going back to Safari, triple clicked, nothing happens.
    Again I tried to turn off guided access, reboot turn it on again but it was already turned off.
    As for now, my son can't use the iPad until a solution the this appears.
    Anyone got some kind of solution?
    Have a nice day!
    - Mark

    Guided Access had worked fine for me in iOS 7 on my iPad 3 and on my iPhone 4s. However, since upgrading both devices to iOS 8 Guided Access has ceased to function for me. I have tried hard rebooting both devices (turning off Guided Access first), and it seemed to work briefly on one of the two devices -- the iPad I believe, but then the function failed once again. And now I can't get it to work at all on either device. I do hope Apple fixes this relatively soon as it is critical for the fun that my toddler grandson and I share together on these devices!

  • Can't start guided access since ios 8!

    HHow can I start guided access? Three taps to the home button doesn't work!

    Hey Sharongamber,
    Thanks for the question. You’ll want to make sure Guided Access is enabled in your Settings, and the option for the Accessibility Shortcut is enabled:

    Hello
    This is Gilles Dang, I handle this Service Request.
    The patch that permits disabling Tuxedo access log is included in Tuxedo 12 now.
    To set up this feature you have to set

    hi all,
    I was enable the guided access with pass code in a app, and I did drawn a big "disable are circle "on my screen, and now the disable area is blocking my option to choose between accessibility options to disable the guided access.and option to disable it? pls help.

    You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode.
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
    DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

  • Can you disable Guided Access?

    Is there a way to diable Guided Access in Restrictions? I do not want a child to set a password that we do not have.

    Sorry but no, Guided Access cannot be blocked in the Restrictions nor by any other means I know of. For this and other features that can't be blocked, I think most schools have just accepted the fact that they'll have to restore their iPads from time to time.
    Regards.

  • How to disable addressbook access for common area phones

    I'm searching for a way to prevent access to the company addressbook for our common area phones. One of these phones is used as a door phone in public area and should not display the contact cards of our employees.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
    Please try to add the msRTCSIP-GroupingID attribute on the Contact for Lync users, then test the issue again.
    The basic premise is you can define groups of users in your organizations and assign them different groupingIds.
    A groupingId is simply a guid and only users who have the same groupingId may search for each other.
    To set the groupingId for a user, you must set the value of msRTCSIP-GroupingId in Active Directory.
    More details:

  • How to disable internet access during Adobe AIR installation

    Hello,
    I am trying to install Adobe AIR in an enterprise environment on numerous clients.
    Unfortunately the installation procedure always tries to open an internet connection during installation.
    As all users in our company require proxy authentification for internet access, the authentification dialog of our proxy always shows up when installing Adobe AIR. So the installation can not be processed without any user interaction.
    We would like to install Adobe AIR silently in the backround. So we are looking for an opportunity to disable the internet access during AIR installation.
    Thanks for any help,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
    You might want to give the Settings Manager a try (located at the bottom of this page.)  However, I suspect the network might still be pinged regardless of this setting.  Please let me know how it goes.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • How to undo revoke access to iOs

    After setting up iCloud on my Windows PC, I accidentally clicked on 'revoke access' for iCloud on any iOs devices. Now I can't access iCloud folder from my iPhone & iPad... I can't seem to find the option where i can undo this and grant iOs to access my iCloud folders.
    Can anyone point out how to do this?

    Marshal.GetActiveObject is the .Net wrapper of the GetActiveObject API which is exposed as GetObject in VB. And UCOMIRunningObjectTable/System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.IRunningObjectTable is the .Net wrapper for the ROT. You probably want
    to read Don Box's Essential COM and Kraig Brockschmidt's Inside OLE, 2nd editon for more details on how to work with ROT or COM in general.
    I wonder why you choose the ROT for inter-process communication, though, if you control the code for both the COM server and the client. My first choice would be WCF with NetNamedPipeBinding, or if you stuck with .Net 2.0, .Net Remoting.

  • How to disable (hide) accessibility option in logon pad?

    Hi all
    How can I hide the accessibility option in logon pad? Or is it of any use if we do not implement / setup accessibility (see thread Accessibility- Logon Pad)?
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

    Hi Disha
    In the bbpglobal/99/logon template coding there's a option called ~dontshowaccessibilityonlogin. Great I thought... and set it to 1 in SICF service of BBPSTART (BBPGLOBAL isn't there), invalidated all caches and restartet ICM. Unfortunately I had no luck... in a second try I then put this parameter in BBPGLOBAL via SE80 and published this IAC service re-invalidated all caches again and restarted ICM again as well... again: no luck!
    In the template coding I can see that the ~dontshowaccessibilityonlogin parameter is used and as far as I understand it, it should be taken into account correctly.
    `if (~dontshowaccessibilityonlogin != "1")`
              <tr>
                <td class="loginlabel"><label for="acc" tabindex="0">`#ACCMODE` </label> </td>
                <td class="loginlabel"><input type="checkbox" id="acc" name="~accessibility" value="`~accessibility`" class="entryColor" onclick="return setaccmode();">  </td>
              </tr>
              <tr>
                <td height="1" width="1" background="`mimeURL(~service="bbpglobal", ~language="", ~name="images/datafield/datafield_line1.gif")`" colspan="1">
                <img src="`mimeURL(~service="bbpglobal", ~language="", ~name="images/background/spacer.gif")`" height="1" width="1" border="0" title="Platzhalter"></td>
                <td height="1" background="`mimeURL(~service="bbpglobal", ~language="", ~name="images/datafield/datafield_line2.gif")`" colspan="1">

              </tr>
    `end`
    What am I doing wrong?
    Kind regards,

  • How do i activate wi-fi on guided access mode?

    Tiago Hasuda,
    Resetting your iPhone (by holding down the power and home button until you see the Apple logo) will disable Guided Access if there is a passcode set to unlock your iPhone.
    Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
